question mode of payment of the first 12 months rent was PDC and continued for next 12 months. Now Tenant refuses to give PDC. Says he will transfer by interac. He says that he is on month to month so he need not pay increased rent and he can pay by any means. Legally, can Landlord force him to pay by PDC or should I accept interac. Appreciate your inputs.

Can tenant in Mississauga condo refuse to accept any rent increase after 12 or 24 months. Rent increase form was served after 12 month's and he accepted it and gave the 12 PDCs. But when 2nd rent increase form was served. He refuses to accept the rent increase. He wants to continue at the old rent. Legally can I the landlord put pressure on him?

My Tenant hasn’t paid rent for 12 months. I scheduled a hearing. Canada need better laws for Landlords

Yes, it’s a mess, but those are the laws. It’s a two-way street: there are terrible tenants, awful landlords, and an infuriatingly slow tribunal system with extra fees and endless forms. Once you rent out your property, it legally becomes their dwelling. Sure, you own it, but signing a lease means their rights kick in, too. It’s never as black-and-white as “my house, my rules.”
