They put many other professional orchestras to shame with their precision, intonation and ability to follow their conductor. But in the USA time and financial budgets are being cut for public schools and students are turned out to the world without an experience with the arts and especially music. Kudos to Teacher Abreu, these talented children, their parents and all those who poured their support, blood, sweat and tears into making their Venezuelan “System” so successful.

Wow, great. I checked in the back for slackers, there were none. They nailed that Shostakovitch, man alive all those strings playing with precision and passion. Amazing.
dudamel is such a genius conductor and brings the genius out in these kids. nobody can make an orchestra sound like dudamel. a thousand hours of technical accuracy and practice cannot make you understand how to put your soul in your music. life teaches you that. it is just as important if not more important than technique, music theory, muscle memory, scale practice, and so on. in a single word: emotion. the same pieces from many other conductors do not illuminate the heart in the same way; rather, they have a certain flat quality to them. these performances always remind me what being a musician means. to master your craft is to listen with every atom in your being. to become the music. you don’t learn this without blood sweat and tears.... which only end up making you better in the end. as a musician, music drips from your pores, vibrates in your words, subtly emanates from your every action in the world--especially your silence. so much of music is about silence. organized silence. to listen to the wrong song at the wrong time doesn’t work. even if you love the song. silence is so important.you also learn early on that few people notice for a long time. but those who get your style really get it. you are able to give them something. you just do it because you have no other choice. it is who you are.
I am impressed. For such a large high school group, their articulations were only slightly blurred and there wasn't any considerable rush or lag in the music. Very well done!
The silence between the last note and the applause after Shosti 10 is absolutely deafening... almost insulting. These kids ripped this piece a new one. I'm hoping it was utter amazement that prevented the audience from immediately erupting. Bravo on a fantastic performance!
Good gosh.....what a performance by these youngsters. My spine is still chilling !!!! can't believe my eyes and ears. Venezuela you certainly should be proud of your youth.!!

I teared up a little.
This is the BEST I've ever seen.
Especially when the girl around 11 minutes has her solo.
It's beautiful.
Wow! I'm Venezuelan and I play viola, but I'm not even scratching the surface compared to these kids! Loved it!

dudamel is such a genius conductor and brings the genius out in these kids. nobody can make an orchestra sound like dudamel. a thousand hours of technical accuracy and practice cannot make you understand how to put your soul in your music. life teaches you that. it is just as important if not more important than technique, music theory, muscle memory, scale practice, and so on. in a single word: emotion. the same pieces from many other conductors do not illuminate the heart in the same way; rather, they have a certain flat quality to them. these performances always remind me what being a musician means. to master your craft is to listen with every atom in your being. to become the music. you don’t learn this without blood sweat and tears.... which only end up making you better in the end. as a musician, music drips from your pores, vibrates in your words, subtly emanates from your every action in the world--especially your silence. so much of music is about silence. organized silence. to listen to the wrong song at the wrong time doesn’t work. even if you love the song. silence is so important.you also learn early on that few people notice for a long time. but those who get your style really get it. you are able to give them something. you just do it because you have no other choice. it is who you are.
I am impressed. For such a large high school group, their articulations were only slightly blurred and there wasn't any considerable rush or lag in the music. Very well done!
Breathtaking! Humanity at its best.
Maestro Dudamel bringing young performers to highest excellence. You and your performers are beyond our “dreams”!
The silence between the last note and the applause after Shosti 10 is absolutely deafening... almost insulting. These kids ripped this piece a new one. I'm hoping it was utter amazement that prevented the audience from immediately erupting. Bravo on a fantastic performance!
Amazing how doing something with passion can take things to a whole other level!!!!
Wow…superb playing ..A credit to all…As good as any of the professional orchestras
11:50 is the most beautiful thing I heard in life

Its the revolution, my friend. Its powerful just like its enemies.
Bravo Venezuelean Kids and keep it up.God bless you all.
Gustavo should record Shostakovich's Symphony No.10 with the amazing "Teresa Carreno Youth Orchestra" so that fans like me could rush to the store to buy copies. This is by far the best rendition of this magnificent movement I have ever heard including Mravinsky's monumental interpretation. God bless you Gustavo and God bless the musicians in the "Teresa Carreno Youth Orchestra" of Venezuela. Bravo!
Love the passionate choreography!!! This is why I personally decided to become a musician!!!

The best of the best "Gustavo Dudamel" BRAVOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
This is amazing the energy really makes me want to perform with them.
El Systema is a proof we have a lot more within us to be discovered. These neighbours of mine, the Venezuelans, feel the music. All they do comes from deep within their hearts. Each person who associates the System with oil, politicians etc. disrespects the musicians. These high school students change the world the way their heart talks through the music. Let that be our focus. Their energy, passion, dedication. It's a real boost !
