And this movie came in 2005. This was so ahead of its time its ridiculous.
I feel old.
The movie felt like it came out in 2010 or 2011 at the least , but I assume the studio worked and put a lot of effort to making this movie for awhile before releasing it , so kudos to them giving us good quality
@kiryuknightly9411 the previous final fantasy movie was ground breaking in cgi but generally fans where let down with the space alien spirits. This was the timeless come back.
And Sony refused to play it in their stores. Imagine that
Considering that Kadaj, Loz, and Yazoo were all basically incomplete versions of Sephiroth, the fact that Cloud can not only fight but best them is very impressive. Loz was more than a match for Tifa and Cloud was fighting him and Yazoo at the same time. It wasn’t even that they were getting in each others way. They were working well together. Cloud simply overpowered and out skilled them even without materia.
To be fair it’s kind of implied that everyone of the ff7 gang is kind of out of practice having gone 2 years into a civilian life, the only one who is not out of practice was Vincent and that’s mainly because he spent those 2 years endlessly wandering, cloud would be the next one who lost his edge the least being that he routinely travels alone through Gaia and fights monsters by himself during his deliveries, followed by Barret who is part of a security team for oil prospectors going out into the wilds searching for oil, Yuffie spends most of her time going out searching for materia hoping to find some that can cure Geo-stigma but routinely spends a lot of time back at Wutai trying to help out with those afflicted, then Tifa was one of the ones who settled most into a domesticlife with the most violent thing she had to deal with is drunks overstaying their welcome at her bar, followed by Cid who hasn’t fought anyone or anything since sephiroth and was completely devoted to researching technology that is not reliant on Mako, Nanaki (Red XIII) spent most of the two years in the wilds raising 2 Nibel bear cubs living closer to that of a wild animal, and then Cait sith……is just a mechanical doll
This is all information from the book “ff7 advent children on the way to a smile” detailing what everyone was doing between the end of ff7 and advent children
And I think he might’ve had geo stigma while fighting them as well
Yep he was dealing with the Geo Stigma which was causing him problems and weakened him quite a bit
Cloud still was nerfed by his problems... In this fight he is getting his shit together so his real strength is returning little by little...

Cloud Is Definitely One Of My Favorite Character's In The Final Fantasy Saga
Nomura is actually an action genius; forgot which director or action director (not from The Marvels) saying how much the action scenes in Advent Children actually changed Hollywood action sequences
The action was indeed next level, nothing like it at the time
There will never be another final fantasy movie with action like this, this truly did not give a fuck, it went absolutely crazy, now everything is all about realism and obeying physics and slow realistic moment
The vibe was so perfect in this movie.
No wonder Roche fell so hard for Cloud

Can't help but notice how big Reno and Rude's suits look on them. They look like kids wearing their parent's clothes. Was that the style back in 2005?

Advent Children as an epilouge would be a nice way to round out the Remake Expierence I think. Looking forward to Jounrey's end.

@@DarkLord-7Wow, I’ve played MGS2, MGS4 and Revengeance(my fav game)a million times and I’m mad I never caught that. Now, if that blew your mind. Get this, he also voiced Kon from Bleach. I found that out about 8 years ago. Lol, I literally almost fell out my seat. His Gi guy sounds like himself but Kon, you would never know it.

Si bien la peli es del 2005, hay muchas escenas a lo largo de la peli que fueron agregadas en 2009; entre ellas del 1:46 al 3:52. Todo eso no está en la peli original del 2005 sino en la versión extendida del 2009 llamada "Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children COMPLETE"
Lo curioso es que son muy pocas las escenas que son cambiadas por otros que se consideraron mejor en la Extendida; aún así hace que el film dure como 2 horas y esté mucho mejor.
I love the choreography from 4:20 and 5:02 ongoing! Just goes to show how flexible Clouds fighting style has become even without any additions like materia. He wasn't sitting around and kept refining his own fighting style, so cool!
Well, he is a merc, so that helps. Not to mention, I think Cloud really worked on developing his inner strength and power and he ultimately is a lot more agile, FAR stronger and much more experienced than FF7 Cloud. Not to mention, he uses magic very similar to Sephiroth, using it to power/enhance his attacks and even his physical traits because he REALLY didn't want the people he cared about to die in front of him again.
Cloud Strife knows how to ride on motorcycles!

Okay I'm gonna need to go back and re-watch this, because some of this I don't remember. I had the Japanese DVD version, not the English dub. I feel like at that time they were two separate versions? Am I just mis-remembering? But some of these scenes I don't remember seeing on my copy...

In the japanese version it was a piece of her spine, not head. It was a mistranslation, for some reason.

A real one does exist. Its in Square Enix HQ. Along with many other vehicles from their games, like the FFXV car.
Well interesting enough, due to the law of angular momentum, all motorcycles actually semi defy earths gravity when they are driving.
The heavier the mass of the bikes, and the more rounded or closer to sphere like the wheels are, the closer some of these stunts actually almost become plausible.
Just, the heavier the bikes and faster their speed, the more strength the driver would need to do these stunts, however in the world of FF7, most of the ones doing these stunts have been enhanced through Mako or materia etc, so the strength part becomes more realistic as well, at least in the world of FF7.

Surprisingly the Resident Evil series, about killing zombies mind you, has become way more over-the-top than even this 😂.
I hate them for stabbing him on the sleeve and making him remove it T^T that was the coolest part of his design, but I guess for the sake of character design nostalgia. They removed it T^T

Cloud is on the run from a now de-powered sephiroth and his gang of violent thugs ordered by Dr. Hojo to hunt down and assassinate Cloud and anyone else who associates with him meanwhile at the same time unleashing a deadly plague called the geostigma virus that people died from so it's like The Blues Brothers meets Platoon and 28 Days Later in a Japanese RPG video game with a nice touch of Judeo-Christian references at least in this movie. It's a wild story and everybody loves it so much! 🤣
As much as i enjoyed this movie i feel its responsible for a lot of design and story choices i def didnt like that came after.

The script for this film was written by the original story writer, Kazushige Nojima.
Yeah, like the other comment said, most FF7 related stuff was made, written and/or designed roughly by the same guys. Writing-wise, the only exception is Dirge of Cerberus if I'm not mistaken.
Your preference for the original is probably nothing more than nostalgia.
This movie very much IS canon. And the remake will lead into this. AC happens 2 years after the main game and 1 years before Dirge of Cerberus.
