3:25 is iconic
"GEMS is a bad sound driver" yeah right.
Who said such nonsense stupidity?
@@TrueNeutralEvGenius many people.
GEMs aint bad, its just really easy to make bad music using it.
@@camulodunon Well, many people have no idea what they are talking about, many people are incredibly stupid. So no wonder, I guess.
@@Spewa-em8cm Yeah, well, you can say such thing about every tool, instrument or editor, quite everything really. It's not about the tool, it's about the creator. I had that argument with Yuzo Koshiro in last year, limitations are good for creativity. Too many people live in illusions with too many wrong conclusions. What a world full of lies, deception and delusions...
I just love everything about this tune. The way those two basslines come together is amazing.
This tune is such a compositional masterpiece, back when Tallarico was at the top of his game. "Down the Tubes" is amazing as well. My favorite from this soundtrack is Intestinal Distress, which is arguably one of the creepiest pieces of music ever put into these 16-bit consoles. Would love to see more form EWJ.
Intestinal Distress, another reason the Genesis version was superior. I used to enjoy that level very much. lol
I love how this channel has basically become "hey check out these genesis bangers" lol
LOL
why LOL, you know I'm right@@NaldinhoGX
@@Kilesfactor Yep.
Finally, I've waited so long for songs from this wonderful game to finally get deconstructed
YM2612 Sega sound chip rocks. And GEMS is such a gem!
And, of course, Tommy Tallarico was such a master. Earthworm Jim 1 and 2 - It's definately ones of the greatest VGM OSTs.
GEMS was great when the sound designer had talent. While it had limitations over other sound drivers this really shows its potential.
His mother is so proud
Way cool!!
I really appreciate what you do for the community
This really is Junky, and Funky.
6:01 EVERYBODY NOW
7:30 poor Channel 5
Channel 5 (Which should be called FM6) occasionally plays hihats, so it still part of the "everybody now"
It only plays on that part of the loop.
It'd probably be worth putting in the title which console this is, since 50% of the people who click on this may be anticipating something that sounds very different.
The genesis version was the best everyone should know that.
@@segaforce8310 Not only that, if you listen to the PC version of the soundtrack, the YM2612 version is really damn close to what was originally intended. The SNES version of this soundtrack is a mess.
@@1ucasvb Usually I don't like being so negative, but the SNES version of this soundtrack really is just horrible compared to the Genesis and CD versions.
thank goodness, FINALLY some people that understand. the SNES version sounds so utterly terrible. and yes, the Genesis came very close in sounding like SE's CD audio. you should see the fanboys on the SNES ones, it's vomit-inducing.
Oooo soundwaves in oscilloscope will always look cool, especially FM
Earthworm Jim series always has some real banger tracks
"Anything but tangerines" soon I hope lol
love those drums
2:01 New Junk City Zone act 2
Fantastic as always. Love this so much
NO F****** WAY this is like my favorite Genesis song ever I love you
Groovy!
YEET!
Look at CHAKAN'S music (Fire level for instance) and then New Junk City, Gems came a long way during those years.
Oh yes, THIS is quality
"Me. Bouncing like a badass."-EWJ
Yeah! Finally!!!
Slaps 👏
Yeah!!!!
Another dynamically allocated track I see.
There isn't much of that here though.
@@camulodunon True. Though the instruments do seem to move around at times. Also, Channel 5 is present, though isn't used much.
This is amazing!!!! can you do the same with the snesn version :o
Cool
Tommy Talarico before he was a snakeoil salesman.
Mark Miller was the composer of the game, though, not Tallarico
Is the SNES version available to see the deconstructed of this same song?.
I don't know if it will be possible for you but can you try doing a breakdown of the soundtrack from Pac-Man Arrangement (1996)?
I have a recommendation,
Can you do Game & Watch Gallery 3s Music Room deconstructed
Sonsera!
Sem dúvidas, rapaz!
How aggressive can a single bassline be?
Sega Genesis / Mega Drive: 1:20
This is the Genesis version right?
Yeah
channel 5: blink and you'll miss it
tbh the SNES version has a better bass.
