Like Audio Technica's LP60 and a couple of other brands of inexpensive automatics, these turntables are great. Perfect for beginners. It will last you for years. Ignore the vinyl snobs, they're the cancerous part of the hobby, but easy to ignore when you realize they really have no idea what they are talking about. 😆
I couldn't agree more (even though I'm a very happy rega owner) I know a few people who have similar tables and I'm impressed with what they are like, well priced and well built, and come standard with a great budget cartridge, same as the one that came on my p1. The automatic feature is something I wish rega did.
Why is it considered a "Beginner" automatics tho? I mean If this one sounds good why would I spend 800 dollars on a better one? We got this table too, best vinyl purchase I've done, it sounds just what you expect it to, but then again I got a proper AB class amplifier with big RF82 speakers 😂I agree on your take on vinyl snobs, if it works it works :D
Thank you for really showing the process start to finish without skipping through “assumed,” parts. Seeing you pause and evaluate the ribbon lead to me being extra cautious with mine and got it locked first try.
Thanks for this. I assembled mine today and this video helped. A lot of people doing these videos are clearly ‘old hands’ at it, so it’s nice to see it done by someone who doesn’t do it everyday. Cheers! :)
I literally just received mine today and wanted to thank you for this video! It really helped me setting it up by following what you did. Thank you again for this upload!
I’ve had this turntable since June 2020. I use it almost every day. I’ve got it hooked up to active Edifier S1000 MKII speakers. It works perfectly and produces great sound. I replaced the stylus after 2 years of use with an Audio Technica ATN3600 stylus. It just slotted on to the tone arm very easily. I won’t be changing this turntable anytime soon. It’ll do me for years to come.
I've connected my ps-lx310bt to my bose Bluetooth speaker. However, when I try and raise the volume on my Bluetooth speaker, nothing happens. The audio remains quiet. Can you offer any assistance ? Or did I just happen to buy a defective device ?
@@yeeongains9220 : I wonder if that might be something to do with whether the switch at the back of the turntable unit is set at “line in” or “phono”. Try that out both ways… The only other thing I can say is that this is not the first time I’ve heard of a problem with a Bose speaker
I have had this table for a few years now and use it daily and it is a great table. The built in phono re amp is also very good with three gain stages. For the price? You just can't beat this. It’s a Sony and they don’t make crappy stuff. Remember they made some of the finest and advanced (bio tracer) turntables back in the day. The vinyl snobs buy crappy stuff that look like home decor than a decent turntable for the money.I would choose a Sony any day over DIY project kinda tables.
Great setup video and not just for newbies you have no idea how helpful this is Sir. Plug and play all day with decent quality and no bullshit well done Sir.
Just ordered this bad boy today doing my research on what receiver and speakers to buy for it. I can't wait I already know the first record I'm going to buy. Donny here I come!!!!! 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲❤️❤️❤️❤️
I compared the sound of an AT table vs. this model and to me this sounded a bit warmer and cleaner than the AT. It was really close though.. less than 10% difference.
That's a damn good looking turntable you got there. I almost bought that one but opted for the Audio Technica LP60X-BT in red. LOVE those speakers! I'm using Edifier. Happy spinning! 🤘🏼
Bingo! To my untrained ears it sounds great too. Someday if I have a dedicated listening room with high end speakers I'll worry about upgrading to the good stuff.
Great video, thanks! Can you tell me if this turntable is compatible with the HT-A9 Performance Home Theater System that I am looking to buy for my Sony TV?
most vintage turntable dont have a built in preamp. somewhere in the 90s, they include a built in preamp. To use a powered speaker (those with speaker wire). this is used for Receivers, even Micro HiFi Components and HiFi DVD players have these wires. But some wires have different mm size and even the specs of the speakers. You dont wanna mess it if its gonna escalate. and also do not plug the phono input with already built in pream turntable, because you get loud and distorted sound. since phono inputs have a very weak frequency to plug an built in phono stage. it exist some speakers having a external built in Phono Preamp. these spades or like wires that includes within the RCA have are ground cables. this is used for reducing the hum.
@PapiTech thanks for the review! I am looking to buy first TT. How is the sound quality through BT speakers or headphones? Also do use the usb connection to rip from vinyl to digital? I am wondering if these features are worth it on a TT.
I just filmed a video testing out the Bluetooth and it seems pretty decent to me! I have not ripped any vinyl, I'm not sure I understand why anyone would do that unless the record is unavailable on CD or digital.
I'm guessing you're new to turntables. This seems a good starting point. I like fully automatic turntables. I would have a changer if I could find a working model. Stacking records does not harm them. Don't put anything on the dust cover, they all get scratches. Have fun with your turntable and records! Good video on setting up a new turntable.
Relatively new, this is my second one, have it as more of a novelty but I enjoy listening to records as an experience. I buy new albums on vinyl instead of CD now and it's nice to be able to actually listen to them! Thanks!!
I've connected my ps-lx310bt to my bose Bluetooth speaker. However, when I try and raise the volume on my Bluetooth speaker, nothing happens. The audio remains quiet. Can you offer any assistance ? Or did I just happen to buy a defective device ?
Check the “line in” / “phono” switch at the back of the unit. You might have it switched to the wrong side. Also, switch the “Gain” to its maximum setting.
Can someone please help me? I connected this exact turntable to a speaker but i can hear a small delayed sound from the turntable even if its not connected to anything
More detail? If you’re right next to the turntable you’ll always faintly hear the music being played from the record itself even if no speakers are connected.
Get a cork mat and do a speed test and skating test. Other than that it should be a great turntable for years to come When the time comes LP Gear has a nice Stylus upgrade for it $29.95
Haha omg! I had the same with my IKEA turntable. It made scratches on my vinyl. So I returned it and bought this one also ahhaha 😂. Still figuring out what to do with the red things
I hate this Sony! Is there a stylus upgrade that can polish this turd's audio? I only bought it because it was on the shelf at BB and I didn't want to order the one I actually wanted. Buyers Remorse.
Trust me, there is no part of this package made by Sony. I tried one of these machines, and couldn’t help but think that just looking at it, that the plastic would break. Are they looking to put Bluetooth into ball point pens next? Bluetooth is one audio trend I wish would truly die.
Actually the bluetooth of today is not the bluetooth of ten years ago. Is it as good as direct? absolutely not! but it is listenable in your car or at an event that has background noise. I'm an audio engineer and mix live via wi-fi and play my background/break tracks via bluetooth and no one has ever complained about the quality of the sound.
It’s horrible . Just a mass of black plastic. Try a Thorens second hand , REGA too or new. Even Teac make something with a decent finish. Pro-ject début carbon with red needle is super. Good luck
To get a Rega or Pro-Ject you're gonna spend north of $600.....the Sony is a perfectly acceptable quality turntable for someone either fairly new to vinyl or looking to upgrade from a cheaper unit....it does everything a turntable should do for less than $200.

Nope!
