Just received this beautiful new book by a new artist to us, Lalita Iyer - Enchanted Creatures. This book has been very kindly sent to me as a pre-release copy by Page Street Publishing and it will be released in July 2024. It is a zendoodle book, however has many elements on a page that are not zendoodle too. The book is all about animals and with lots of floral elements thrown in. The quality of the book is outstanding. I am happy to have this in my collection. I really enjoyed the page that I coloured, which I will share with you in the video.

I really like drawing zendoodles myself. Whenever I see books with zendoodles though the lines always seem to be rather thick and bold and it makes it feel more like a kids coloring book. This one however.. wow. I absolutely LOVE it!! The lines have a beautiful weight to them and the designs are so adorable. I’m definitely adding this book to my wish list. Thank you for reviewing it. ❤

Thank you for sharing this beautiful book and as always your absolutely beautiful coloring! You mentioned you based with soft pastel - could you tell us what soft pastels you used and did you spray (what brand) before using pencils. Thanks for sharing!!

I used the Faber Castell soft pastels for this page and I usually use Winsor and Newton professional fixative to spray it with (it’s a workable fixative so I can colour over with pencils). 🤗💗

What an absolutely beautifully illustrated coloring book 'Enchanted Creatures' is! So much so, that the moment I reached the end of your Video, I went over to Amazon and 'pre-ordered' it. Evidently, it will not be released here until July 16th--but I hope to be one of the first to received a copy of that extraordinary book!! You usually find that Zen books focus primarily on the major figure, but in Lalita Iyer's book, she has put so much effort into the surrounding borders. Thanks a million, Shel, for introducing us to this new coloring treasure. By the way, due to illness, I missed when and where you told us the winning page for a 'Coloralong' event--has there been a winner, yet, and, if so, which page was the winner? I realize how busy you are, so don't worry if you have no time to answer this. Oh!! Very important!! After watching the video where you answered some questions about yourself--and you mentioned your fondness for a plain McVitie Digestive with butter spread on it--guess what I headed straight for?? YES--I went straight to the cupboard, took our a Plain McVitie Digestive, spread it with butter---and dined on a new-found savory snack!! Thanks!! I always enjoy your videos! ❤ Lynn in NYC

It’s a lovely book and like you said, this border details are so beautiful! I definitely enjoyed colouring in the book.
Ah, I have been under so much stress this month that it has affected me getting out a colouralong. But it’s ready now - just posted in the community tab the book and the winner of the poll were the Derwent Inktense pencils - so that’s what I will use this time.

Love this book the trick to zendoodles are you don't have to color all the details I just tackle it as 1 image or detail!
