These vocals do not hurt if you do them right. Will takes care of his voice. The amazing thing is he has asthma too. So he uses a breathing treatment every time he does shows. He takes super good care of his voice.
Very true they do not hurt the vocalist assuming they’re using the proper parts of their throat and vocal folds etc. It is important to note that just like a “clean singer” they must take care of their voice via treatments, warm ups and breaks from doing any vocals. I think people forget that you can throw out your voice just from singing too much for too long without proper care. Fascinating how these type of vocals exist and I don’t blame anyone for immediately thinking “damn, that’s gotta hurt”
5:43 Interesting to note that a lot of the faces that Will makes, especially anything he does with his lower face, nose, and jaw, are pretty much vital for his screaming to sound the way it does.

Camryn seemingly entranced and getting lost in the musicality and finding the flow of it, while Matt is just feeling it in a more primal way, banging his head and making stankface. You're both great!
