In India, many friends can sleep in the same bed and not have a physical relation. Such open and awesome frendship we have. But due to Western influence our friendship has got affected.

Defeating and Catching the tiger was a norm for the Indian Emperors, Kings and Warriors in the past especially during the ancient and mediaeval times. Infact, it was a mark of greatness and high value masculinity in those times. Many Emperors, Kings and Warriors have done this. Here are some examples - Sambhaji, Maharana Pratap, Rana Sanga , Samudragupt, Chandragupta Maurya, Rajendra Chola, Hari Singh Nalwa, Lalitaditya Muktapida, Vikramaditya, Kanisha etc.

About the bridge sequence. I think that was pretty obvious what Raju wanted bheem to do. I don't know where the confusion lies but maybe it's because we have grown up watching similar action sequences in Indian movies that it didn't need an explanation for the indian audience.

Carrying injured buddy is a part of training in Army (every country) and it's important to note that most friends in India are like that because the tinge of childishness stays with them even when they get old. I mean it is only with friends that you can be a child again. Also most of the reactions I watched didn't understand why Rama Raju being an Indian fought against Indians, although in the story our cop has a motive but even if he didn't it wouldn't surprise Indians because it was a question of loyalty and since he took up a British job he would take it up with complete loyalty. This was the case when Netaji Subhash Bose's INA fought against British Indian Army who were all Indians on both sides.

    • @srinivask1003

Bridge rescue scene: ram had a full plan but with his hand gestures all we(and bheem) understood was that they are going to jump and hang under the bridge. Rest everything happened in the movement. Train was about to fall on the kid so bheem had to lift him, ram asks to hand him over and he throws the flag. Now bheem is going into the fire so he had to use it to cover him, then finally holding hands. So yeah there was no confusion. Also SSR said that that scene was to show that they both are in sync with each other.

I think it's really interesting what people say about the pacing of this movie. I personally found it perfect, with no wasted moments or shots. Some say the movie is long and the 2nd part of the movie drags a bit, some say the movie is long and the 1st part of the movie drags a bit. And some say (eg: Jeremy Jahns) that it is one of the best 3 hour movie they have ever seen in terms of pacing.
I suppose the takeaway is that 3 hour runtime can be intimidating for people in the west who are not used to it, and it's almost always the case that after having watched it, it would feel off.

The nuance about British people. The only explanation in my perspective . listen up.
So Imagine there's pack of lions.
When they interact with each other ->
They care for each other, They protect each other , They also may feel fear of some member, mercy ,faith , trust all is there.
basically :- There behavior is contained in this family and you can call it "NORMAL" for now.
But when they interact with their prey ->
they are brutal, they don't have mercy. they tear them apart like a machine. this is not "NORMAL" from the eyes of prey.
The conclusion is :- British never considered Indians as "familiar humans" they thought they are superior race , they behave sane and normal while interacting with their own people and they will show all the characteristics of humanity.
"This can be the only way to show the nuance in their characters"
To Indians they were straight up evil and unimaginably inhumane. the history describes it.
I would recommend the movie "Sardar Udham" to see more of that "nuance" along with extreme brutality.

Okay the FFI has screwed up as always...so we are going in solo dolo for all the big categories....The film FFI has selected is for sure is not gonna get nominated....Now RRR scoring nominations is very difficult even though the one campaigning for us is a great dude, but now the point is, screw best picture etc even if Naatu Naatu scores a nom, it will be a victory for RRR becoz then Naatu Naatu will be performed at the Oscar Ceremony (if we are lucky...with RC and NTR) and that will be the biggest slap in the face for the Jury....

He wanted to convey the resonating ideology or thought process that they perfectly had sync with each other. Thats why you see multiple times in the movie where they dont really share words but understand each other totally ! 😊

RRR and to most Extent SS Rajamouli films stand apart from all other Indian movies bcz in his movies He SHOWS and not TELL to the audience... i.e, In true sense of cinema he takes visual depiction seriously!! in his movies the plot and characters do not rely heavily on dialogue or heavy voice over narration to explain the plot... it's all SHOWN and not Told to audiences, which is the very reason his movies are finally breaking cultural barriers.. The bridge scene that u find confusing would be boring af if they introduce themselves and convey through dialogue what to do... may be that would work in OG language but when u cross boundaries that very thing becomes stale....

Fun to see your reaction to the Critical Drinker. I thought he did a good job-he usually does-but for myself I had no problem with the small issues he complained about. For myself and I am most definitely a westerner I have one rule that gets me through some pretty wacky pictures. I ask only that they abide by the rules of the universe they've created. If a movie creates a new, unique universe I'm pretty much just fine with that. As long-and this is the point-they live within the rules of the universe they've created. If they don't do that they end up blowing up all their own connections meant to keep us involved. One very big reason RRR worked so very well for me is no scene no matter how crazy it might seem broke the rules Rajamouli himself established. The rest was just a great story playing out with all the parts greased and working superbly in that universe. P.s. Are you going to react to "Brahmastra'? My wife and I were smart enough to catch that one in the theatre and had a great time.

Not everybody understands all the languages, So People in India are more reliant on the gestures they make when they meet our own people with different languages... So it's a very common survival skill which we Indians already have it by default..

In bridge scene, both Ram and Bheem want to save the kid. But Ram is at top of the bridge and Bheem is far away on the shore. When Ram sees a man far away trying to save the kid, he raises his hand. On seeing this, Bheem hesitantly raise his hand. Afterwards, Ram shows the kid, puts the hand sign for help(which is the two hands folding against each other). On seeing this, Bheem also does the same.(So now they both knew they are trying to help the kid). Now Ram signals Bheem to come to the bridge, understanding this, Bheem quickly rushs to the bridge on his motorcyle. Afterthat, Ram signs Bheem, tying rope around the waist and jumping both sides of bridge to help the kid. I think this is how we understood the scene.
