Jesus, I hate time limits on races. It just saps all joy from the racing.
if it was the other way round you wouldnt be complaining.
@Trajan2401 No, because as a Kiwi supporter, I just want to see a good race.
@@seavixen125cant change the rules that have been the rules forever same for both sides
@@seavixen125i dont care if its not NZ as a fellow kiwi.
As much as I want Luna Rossa to win, to a layman, it looks like Britannia has the faster boat when they actually foil. I stand corrected if I’m wrong.
Match highlights:
Britannia vince la partenza
Luna Rossa rimonta
Britannia prende una raffica a culo e ritorna in testa
Tutte e due cadono dai foil
Nessun dominio inglese, solo condizioni difficili per entrambi
You keep convincing yourself that
Have they called it off for the day?
What time does it start today? (CET)
If the race committee can delay the start, why can’t they delay the finish time limit?
Race duration is agreed upon in the rules and is not allowed to be changed by anyone unless all teams agree to a rule change. The race committee only has control over course length, number of legs, and angle of the course. And the wind sampling period and wind strength parameters are agreed upon in the rules beforehand.
Delaying the start is because of the weather they have no choice.
Wow, the British were killing it!
If it was F1 the fact all racers had to stop front wins?
Forza ragazziii❤️🇮🇹❤️🇮🇹❤️🇮🇹❤️🇮🇹❤️🇮🇹❤️🇮🇹❤️🇮🇹❤️🇮🇹❤️🇮🇹❤️🇮🇹❤️🇮🇹❤️
About time....
Great race for getting knowledge is blady close and great.... GB was searched two times for taking off and used time to winning with display mode 🤷♂️ hope kiwis taihoro begging for right upgrades... Taihoro is waiting and hungry to race..😍
Was the race abandoned? Why is there nothing on the main website?
Yes
Not just abandoned. It went over time. Gut-wrenching watching the clock tick down.
USA 🎉😅😂
Imagine the poms looking at the finish line with one eye whilst watching the time with the other eye just to run out of time.
I wish the commentators would get their act together. They talk a load of rubbish over the actual sailors, it is like they are justifying their air time
If you dont like them no ones forcing you to listen to them i like them so suck it up.
You should be focusing on the race not the commentators.
Vergognoso far gareggiare in queste condizioni
Ineos immediately after down would sail totally display mode they maybe made it🤷♂️😵💫
Time ran out
Nah, they would have still been about 2-5 minutes short. Getting on the foils at some point is the only way they'd have made it all the way to the mark in the time limit. they only spent a little of two tacks and one gybe(maybe 2?) hunting for takeoff angle. Somebody else will no doubt pull out the actual figures, but I can't say they lost more than a couple minutes trying. There might also be something to be said for sailing shallower angles at such windspeeds anyway. We saw how much both boats got severely bogged down trying to tack and gybe. You really need more momentum through the manoeuvres than the speed you'll get from your best VMG angle. So to maximize your actual VMG inclusive of turns is more complicated than simply pointing as hard as you can.
I don't think anybody at all was anticipating a GB advantage over LR in such marginal conditions. I think this changes the complexion of the whole series.
But it was also clear that when there was an extra knot of breeze GB's advantage also shrunk very quickly. It's obviously non-linear across the wind spectrum.
Much like day one, in the first race sure, it was a question of mistakes and cleanliness, but there was also a speed advantage to LR, marginal, but it was there. And it took nearly perfect sailing for GB to make their .1 .2 advantage to actually stick and hold distance. This series may just go down to the wire, especially if the GB team can't maintain 100% focus. That being said the shifts in this race were worth well over 100m, nearly 200m on their own. Very fine margins all around here.
Why do they all talk of pressure when we all know it as wind? Yes, we know differences in pressure result in air movement, but why not just call it wind, as all sailors always have done. So, let's pressure for 'more wind over there'😂. Second, what's happened to port and starboard? Why am I hearing "turn left". What's going on? Why are we devaluing the traditional but still appropriate language?
Naval term: Pressure is the force of the wind against the sails! Combination of wind direction and sail/ship's angle wrt the wind. Here you DON'T want to use the naval term.
Civilian term: Left and Right. So here you advocate to use the naval term? Either one way or the other. Wind that blows means nothing if it does not "push" against the sails. Even the amount of wind means nothing. Just the force that it pushes with. So just calling it wind is utterly useless.
As the guy above explained dont say something unless you know what you are talking about.
Luna Rossa sbaglia molto spesso.
I disagree, Italy has a real high performance team, the UK boat has made equal mistakes in recent weeks. The new edge the UK may have is this connection with Formula One.
Why not let the race unfold naturally why the time limit who cares if it on foils or not it’s just who sails better
Classical brits…now for win they wanna change rules!! 😂 now what? no penalty in football final? or what else!! 🎉
cause they should not start at all. It's likes Building F1 Cars and send Them tò a rally track . nonsense
Because the rules state that 45 min is the time limit and because with LRPP ahead in the same conditions I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t post such a stupid question.
@@olioneroclassic Italians not winning and celebrating as if they won 😂 neutral party here not British or Italian. But celebrating this result is a pathetic loser mentality. Only a loser would cheer for getting destroyed like Italy did today
I understand that it was a good opportunity for you brits who never win something in sport but trust me it was a boring show 😏
Italian sailing has the most toxic supporters going, have good sportsmanship and accept you got slapped that race
Leg2 big takeover by ineos
football fans momentarily lent to sailing
Foiling is not sailing…🤮🤮🤮

Won't be saved by the bell forever. This year Ineos seems to adapt to any condition
@@alexanderselkirk1 they have some magic configuration guy too
The displacement yachts of old would be much more exciting in Barca’s wind conditions and at least the viewer could watch and learn from the crew on how to sail a boat.
Ok grandpa.
@@GGxKiwi So Race Day 2 wasn’t a complete waste of your time then?
@@GGxKiwi Guess the next time you’re out on the water will be in a foiling sailboat?
@@bbtickler No, it was fun to watch. Foils are very extreme and require conditions very difficult to find all over the world. Also, conditions are the same for the two boats in these races. However, Sail GP and even AC Youth are more fun to watch, because they are more manoeuvrable and also sail 6 or 8 boats together, there is not match race except in finals.
@@GGxKiwi Call this something new. The Cup is about tradition and “grandpa” is spinning in his grave.
male male..
Go back to catamarans. They get quick on the foils and have better accelleration.

Yeah, a plastic win, considering they didn't even get to the finish line. Great win anyway 👏👏
