    As a DIY home builder, I have no regrets. But if you're on a budget, it takes perseverance, opportunistic sense, and willingness to gamble your future and spouse. I agree with the owner here, the results are endlessly giving. Hopefully the children and grandchildren dont take it for granted.

    Brilliant and very timely... I love the fact that the space is open and free flowing. The beautiful intentions for building this kind of home is so clear... Breathtaking. Thank you. I do hope more will consider this kind of living on the land...Hope you all plant big gardens... With all that beautiful soil... 💖❣

    I really like this unique house! I love that there seems to be room for both the occupants and the house to evolve together!

    It would be interesting to do a follow-up to see how livable this house has been.

    I can't believe they went through all that to break the "boxy 90 degree angle everything" and then they filled it with boxes that honestly feel more boxy than some more conventional homes. They had an amazing opportunity with the arch and then its all broken up and interrupted so you never really feel the whole space.

    I have not seen the revolutionary energy production, maybe detail that ?

    Great house, though I agree about the comment about the “bedroom cum bathroom” - not for me, either. Otherwise, this is a wow. Haven’t seen Grand Designs for quite awhile and am glad to know it’s still around.

    They must have recorded this episode with a potato as bad as the resolution is. Kind of distracting.
    That being said, cool home for sure. Would have liked to seen some of the construction pics/video.

    Thermol mass would make the house even hotter?

    • @TheEmbrio
      @TheEmbrio 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It absorbes heat during the day to be released during the night, vented off if necessary.
      Large amounts of thermal mass can store excess heat for a heatwave up to 10+ days... cool you 10 degrees from the outside air.
      Exterior shades would be a great addition

      Not really when you consider that it actually generates an income. A boss move, given todahe current energy crisis

    Well done. A tad too isolated for my taste.
