    I've bought a bunch of stuff from ICAN over the years, including a road frame. I've never had any problems with any of it.

    The brake hose hole at 13:00 scares me away from this frame set altogether . Some new road bicycles have brake hoses going around the steerer and not through it . A friend's new gravel bike has the brake hose coming out behind the left fork leg through a small opening . Tricky to replace without a draw wire though .

    • @stevenleffanue
      @stevenleffanue  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If the hose goes on the outside of a steerer , how does the hose get through the bottom bearing?

      @@stevenleffanue I believe the steerer left leg junction is an implied hole and also a visible one behind the disc brake caliper but 3 inches above it . Specialized have also used this method .

    The only thing that scares me about those frames is, as you showed in the video, the bottom bracket and brake mounts are not surfaced which would mean issues with installing and aligning the brakes and the potential for cracking BB. But it is just my impression and I wonder whether someone had an issue with it.

  • @robertmcfadyen9156
    @robertmcfadyen9156 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The bottom bracket has been bonded in after the frame was moulded . Bladders are used during initial baking . They are removed and the aluminium shell is then installed .

    Which handle ican integrated bar are you using? Seems like the flare on yours is more than what is on their site.

    I'm interested in this frame but have a question.. I travel with my bike at least a half dozen times a year and need to pack it in an Evoke bag.. Is the seatpost clamp sturdy enough to take the numerous tightening and loosenings of disassembling needed to remove the seat. (and have you had any issues withthat style loosening when ridden a lot?) and is there enough slack to take the handlebars off when packing for a trip without having to disconect brake cables? Seems almost no youtube bike reviewers pay attention to these two key considerations for those of us who fly with our bikes. Thanks for your reply in advance!

    • @stevenleffanue

      Wouldn't recommend this frameset for that,not unless you can pack the bike without removing the integrated bars.

    I am a big fan of ICAN products, I have a couple of their frames, and a half dozen sets of their wheels. Great products, but I'm not interested in these newer frames because there is no way I ever want a frame that requires you to run internal cables through the head tube. Way too much hassle for the minimal gains involved. In many cases this forces you to run an electrical groupset, something else I've tried and consider a minimal gain at substantial expense. They also no longer produce rim brake frames although they still supply rim brake wheels. I thin for the DIY crowd there should be some options.

    This is not a gravel bike. This is a road bike (with aggressive fit) with a wider clearance for tires. Propriatery headset, seatpost. Integrated stem with no chance to fit. Molded into carbon frame alu bsa shell - a very nice solution for galvanic corrosion! Shimano, move you a$$ and deliver finally a wireless groupset, because companies are making some $hit instead of a good frame to fit your idiotic di2...

    Why oh why does a gravel frame has to have a aero seatpost … only makes the ride unnessecary harsh and hard to replace - oh and no dropper post option either…👎

    Another promo for ICAN like Hambini posted recently? Are they giving these away to any zootubers who will promote them?
    Noted the ad for Buycycle embedded in here. Just a note on them based on current experience - DON'T buy a new bike through Buycycle from a bike dealer UNLESS you want to wait weeks for it to show up, despite having your credit card billed right away. For some unknown reason they make the dealer ship the bike to them and they then ship it to you. Despite the dealer being not all that far from me (and in the same country) their scheme requires the bike be shipped to GERMANY to sit around for weeks before being shipped back into the country it came from and to me. Dumb, dumb, dumb!

    Gravel frames don’t have that seatpost configuration, no way can you upgrade to a dropper or suspension option. And about that sticker UCI.,, please? What does UCI know about gravel? That’s the sport’s biggest joke! I’ve seen way better products coming from the east. This group has plenty of internal competitors.

    Considering the thumbnail title I was expecting a product that moved the game on, but instead was left underwhelmed. It's too heavy for starters, some iffy finishing, loose headset, etc. Also, dropped seatstays and a low rear triangle are looking dated, imo. Not the best clearance, esp at the front. This is a dated bike design. Nothing special for me, I would be looking elsewhere.
