I use Aqua Velva Musk and I like it a lot. Can't beat the price. I wish the opening was smaller so I could better control how much comes out of the bottle.

That Aqua Velva Musk is surprisingly great. Didn't expect it from a drugstore fragrance. Soft, warm, and mild, with a great dry-down. I don't care much for the original blue, but the musk is great.
@@ericp_ski - Hmm. Didn't know there were more than the two. Here in SoCal I've only seen the blue and the musk. I'd go for the green Original Sport, but I already have Stirling's Sharp Dressed Man edt, which pretty much satisfies my Irish Spring needs.

Hey Ken! I've been using my Super-84 for several days now and it's just about flawless. I switched one day last week to my Rockwell with the R4 plate and, boy, was it ROUGH. It just irritated my neck so badly. The next day, I switched back to my Super-84 and, holy moly, what a difference! No irritation and just a smooth, effortless shave (same blade each time). I think I've really settled into my vintage Gillettes -- for me, they just give a superior shave to any of the new razors I have.
And Ozarks?!?!? What a great show! And the way it ends this season? I don't see how they won't have another season!

Great shave as always- bought a black beauty with a date code R R, the seller it was "rare" . All I know is notched on 3' is my sweet spot. Aqua velva Blue with AV balm is the best combination to stop the burn.

Ken💈💈 Nice shave with the Gillette "Super 109" razor, the "Black Beauty" terminology started in 1977 when the base plate(blade riser) changed from metal to black plastic. Your example looks to be pre-1977😊 This soap scent sounds intriguing. I'm glad you're safe in all this chaos and anarchy🙄 Thanks for the video as always. Enjoy!

Regularly use my own birth year quarter Black Beauty as it's one of my favorites but still haven't had the desire or need to take it above setting six. Always nice to shave with a razor that has a bit of history and life behind it.

When I started wet shaving with my PAA starter kit the voskhod blades were my favorite! Just got some more with a tryablade order. My 1962 slim adjustable just arrived at Razor Emporium a few days ago so I am excited to start using it soon.

I’m 17 and just started to use a safety razor the first one I got was a weishi, and it worked alright I used it for a couple months. But once I saw the new KC Gillette I went to wallgreens and got one, and it’s so much better. Thanks for making the interesting videos!

Can't go wrong with a Gillette adjustable. To this day, they're still the best performing and looking razors on the market imo. Intriguing soap, might have to give that a whirl.

Enjoyed this video. I have a question though about the different safety razors. You remember I just started and am enjoying it. I don't however understand what you mean by closed or open comb razor. Because I'm sure I will be expanding into a better quality razor then I have now, and would like to understand the differences better. Thanks, and keep these vids coming
The open comb head has what looks like a rake or comb the the hairs get cut closer with. The open comb is more aggressive and can cut you but it gives a smooth shave. The closed comb head has a smooth solid safety bar with no slots

Love the Black Beauty, I got mine restored last year. I got covid from work. No symptoms here. Going to donate plasma this week so the antibodies can help someone in need. Do different blades affect your skin or has your face adjusted over time?

I recently sold my super 109 and want to get the super 84. Also want to add a Red-Tip to my collection.
The last 2 razors I got were the RazorRock SLOC and a 1930’s Gillette “NEW” Short Comb. Love both, they shave excellent

I used the variant last friday, and was thinking, you don’t see it a lot these days in Sotd’s or videos. It cna give great shaves, but on the higher settings I find the blade becoming a bit too chatty, like it’s getting a bit too loose in the razor. On 3 an lower it’s really smooth.

sir i have one doubt...coz my grandpa died in 1999, since then his gillette black beauty was not in use...I started using it when I was in 10th..sir problem is that its adjuster is cloged...it dosent move any more...SIR PLZ GUIDE ME WHAT TO DO.....ONCE AGAIN THANK U VERRYYYY MUCH...
I would try soaking it in rubbing alcohol to try and loosen any soap that might have built up. Then put a few drops of mineral oil on it to lube it👍👍💈💈💈

I got a 1952 super speed with Van Der Hagen blades and it tends to pull really bad. First save I cut the hell out of myself pushing too hard. The Wilkinson Sword blades are on order on amazon. The Van Der Hagen soap doesn't lather well, either. Thinking I may need to buy locally again at a specialty place cuz this Van Der Hagen brand isn't working out.

Sir I'm a newbie to DE Shaving...I shave once in three day...could you just tell me or teach me how to store razor blade after using once for the next use. I use one blade for 2-3 shaves. But I don't know how to store it in between without getting rust.

Personally didn't like the Voskhod blade. My favorite is the Wilkenson Sword.
