    Organizing could be a job in itself. Constantly working on projects, makes it difficult to keep tools in place, or find them when you need them the most if a system hasn't been implemented. In this video, I show you the bins I use, and how challenging it was before I discovered them. This system not only helps you with your space, but also with your productivity, peace of mind, and your overall mental and physical wellbeing.

    The words you spoke and the points you made in this video were extremely on point. I have 8000 sq ft of disorganized shop space. So true about the energy drain and distraction-disrupted thoughts. I have done some simple things that were improvements but it always feels like it's wasting time when I should be doing something more important-productive. But now I know it's time well spent, due to your eye opener explanations. Thank You for making this video.

      Glad this was helpful. Sometimes all it takes is seeing someone else dealing with the same problem. I might suggest getting some help too. Hire some kids from down the street to help you move things or get an intern or whatever it takes.

      @@TigermothRacingTV Help would be fantastic. We're in an incognito situation as our living arrangements are not typical. Isolated too as I work alone. Not easy finding friends when you get older.

    I wish we worked together, bro. My pet peeves: stuff not being where it’s supposed to be, lack of organization, having to do a major clear up just to start a project. You hit the nail on the head. It DRAINS me! Sadly I seem to be an outlier in this regard. My biggest working life aggrevation. My skills are with fabrication and any time not spent fabricating is lost money and disruptive to my thinking process as far as I’m concerned. I use the Schaller bins extensively at home and have been for at least 15 years now since I found them. I like some of your labeling suggestions too. Thanks for making me feel not so much like a nut job (although the name probably applies).

      Lol, I believe it is a problem that affects everyone wether they will admit it to themselves or not. When you finally get to work in a space where 95% of stuff is where it is supposed to be and easy to get you will really feel the difference and never go back. I am still pushing to make our shop better, it does not quite match my vision of it but we will get there in the next year or so. It takes little actions every day to maintain it and make progress. It feels like allot of work because it is, but the only way through is through. We just have to do it. It is totally worth it. I think that's where people go wrong is they think the work required is not worth it.

      @@TigermothRacingTV another point you hit dead on is investment. I really believe a bit of time up front, or when things are slow pays you back in the future and it’s cumulative. And you don’t start a project already in a frustrated state. Let the project frustrate you not the shop 😀

      Yes good point, the work is hard enough and needs and deserves all your attention. Anything that takes away your attention is a waste.

    I ordered a 49-piece sample set after watching this video. They worked so well for my needs I ordered another 120 individual pieces. Used them up fast, so I placed a third order for 29 pieces. I'm sure I will still need more. They work great for drills, taps, countersinks, end mills, etc. Thanks for the video.

      Glad to hear you like them. Yes they will become a chronic order item until you get caught up in your organizing. The same thing happened to us lol!

    Thanks for the link. I've done U-Line bins inside an old IBM data card file system. However, I also need smaller bins for other storage systems. These look great

    • @TigermothRacingTV
      @TigermothRacingTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      They are starting to make different colors but red seems to be an industry standard. I think the visibility of the red is the best.

    • @scruffy4647

      @@TigermothRacingTV I am thinking on the lines of when you have multiple people pulling parts or tools and returning them, they don't always get placed back in the correct bin. Different colors would help on some strategic items. Just more organization. Now, I realize you can't have a kaleidoscope of colos because that would really screw of your brain.

    Jeez whiz !
    I just spent that 15 grand for boxes and trays on leases, fuel, food , family, TAX AFTER TAX, and other silly frittered away annoyances . Wish I was as cool as hotshot stoic , no expense spared ,sheltered , race guys. Ya know ? OH!

      Lol, I don't want it to come across like that. This is 15 years of hard slow work getting to this point. I started with fishing tackle boxes back in the day to organize this stuff and it was finished off recently by our wonderful employees. Small business is a hard road but if you stick with it you can make it work.
