Got back from Washington and Idaho on May 22. As indicated below, I looked forward to the mountain terrain. I loved it. Got both birds in Washington in one day and could have done so in Idaho. Chose to wait until next morning on the second Idaho gobbler. Also got to take two young turkey hunters I met while purchasing my license and tags. One hunter, and the other followed along. He got his bird. It was high quality hunting. Did notice that you expressed interest in filming people. I've done that with some of the big names in the industry so should you want to share a hunt next year, I'll be back.

Glad you had a great Time Roger!! Ill keep an eye out for your return so be sure to hit me up and we can try to make something happen my friend! Yes, as you can see I do a lot of mentoring and filming as a hobby. That's as far as I want it to go truthfully. Always happy to connect with another Spur Chaser. Blessings!!!

Haven't been brave enough to remove the frame. Sure makes my old back feel better using it. The first Gen I think the material for the pad cover was soft. Mine tore in just one season. Bought a second one and going strong 3 years now. I may try removing the frame for a hunt or two

It's actually really easy to take out and put back in, I just never needed it and I prefer to go lighter. It is a great pack though!! 🤛🤛🤛 Thanks for watching!!! 🇺🇲🦃🇺🇲🦃🇺🇲🦃🇺🇲

@JohnWeik I used to pack a full on Cabelas Gibbler lounger in my vest just to set longer. So this really lightened my load compared to what was. But yeah may shed a few ounce. I yend to hunt that high steep stuff as well. Nothing to do 10 miles in a day chasing Demon Eyed Devil birds!

No offense but I’m pretty sure that everyone who is interested in this vest is interested in the kickstand feature that this vest offers. I understand that you removed it for your own personal use, but to create a review about a product without reviewing the main aspect of that product is just silly. I will say, the review you did on the pockets and the stitching was spot on! Don’t need to get a bunch of hate from all your followers, just feel like this was like a sports car review without showing off the engine.

Thanks for replying. I understand your opinion but I'm just showing it the way I prefer to use it. There are many other reviews showing the rest of it for how other people prefer to use it. Good point though.

Personally I wish they would make the same pack without the kickstand and all the extra weight and then design it for people who don't want the kickstand at all. You might be surprised at how many people really don't like the kickstand.

@@JohnWeik great point! Might even be a little cheaper too! Which would be great!

My buddies and I were at nwtf banquet when they silent bid on an alps turkey vest. They won it and gave it to me.They were tired of looking at my 20 yr old mossy oak apparel with the broken zippers.Mine is more like a vest I like it but it has no shell holders. And I don't use the box call pouch.Mine stays in the truck.I run pot and pegs and mouth calls. All in all I like the alpz vest

I enjoy your videos. I can’t believe you’re 5’7”. I thought you were tall. Lol

I used to be 5’7” but now that I’m in the golden years I think more like 5’6”. I’m planning to hunt N Idaho this year for the first time. Coming over from Western Montana. I’m thinking farther north from where I’m pretty sure you’re hunting. Wish me luck. I’ll let you know how it goes.

I like this one a lot. Almost pulled the trigger on it last year on Amazon.

I'll be flying into the Spokane airport to turkey hunt Washington state and hopefully Idaho May 12th. Will be in the area ten days. I've dreamed of this hunt since I was a teenager. I'm now seventy-three and walk fifty or sixty miles weekly. One day last year in Wyoming, I walked just over twenty-eight miles in the Black Hills. All to say that I can handle any terrain. Anyone got a suggestion where I can begin my search for a Merriam's gobbler. O, I'm a retired United Methodist Minister and would love to meet a United Methodist turkey hunter in the Spokane area. Would consider...

Well how nice that you are still able to crank out the miles good Sir!!! I hope I will still be able to hit our mountains with that vigor at your age still also! The Good Lord willing that is!!! The greatest population will be up in Colville Valley here in East WA. They will be up high and well spread out! After that just keep heading East over into ID above the river systems in the Mountains. Walk the logging roads and call frequently!!!! Our weather has not been good, but things are looking up! Great timing on your part! Best of luck....remember, no Cutting, just good Yelping for our birds! Blessings on your hunts. Keep your distance of the Moose, they are calving!!!!!!

@@JohnWeik That is so helpful. As a former contest caller, I'd be cutting hard so now I'll avoid that mistake. Moose? I'll stay away. I've taken a lot of Merriam's in other states, however, I've had my eye on your state and Idaho for fifty years. Can't wait to start climbing!
