      I remember one day at high school (at a time were emulation was much easier to do) I was randomly playing this game that for some stupid reason believed it was an actual Street Fighter game (how näive I was) and enjoyed it despite being unable to beat planet 1-3, years later I got it on my 3DS and Wii U Virtual Console (enjoying it as well), THEN back in 2017 I nabbed a NES cart for about 5 bucks and is a game I would feel really hurt if I end up selling it (also... I'm not gonna lie, AVGN's video of Street Fighter 2010 made a lot of influence for me to nab the cart), and FUNNY ENOUGH, my bros. back in the 90's got the game borrowed for their friend at a game store who always loved to go outside school to offer games as well and my bros. (kinda) hate me because they failed were I succedeed (I beated the game, they never couldn't).

  • @Amanda-gg6kz
    @Amanda-gg6kz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I commented on your last community post about this game 11 days ago, I'm really glad you were able to make a video about it! I don't 100% agree with you about your criticisms about the game, but it's fine, I'm just glad that you were able to show how the game is, and hopefully get more people interested in it, it's a great game in my opinion.
    So, you don't get healed between the levels of the same world, until you warp to the next world. At 8:16 you were supposed to shoot that red circular thing on the left, because it's an orb that protects your back from being shot at. When you have full powerups, you lose a bar for every hit you take, until you have only 2 bars left, and then you don't lose any more powerups unless you actually die. The end boss is super easy if you have full powerup, you don't even have to leave the wall to kill him.
    Personally, I love this game. My husband plays this all on a single life, and in the second to last level, is able to take zero damage, even on the spot where you have to hang down while the spheres go over you. I love hearing the music, it feels like some of the best music in the NES era.
    For another debunking episode, I suggest Double Dragon 3. Please when you do that video game, try to pause the gameplay for the second level of the pyramid, because it has a really long song on there that you don't hear the entirety of in normal gameplay. You pause just after you beat the guys on the ledge and you get to a elevator platform that you jump to. If you delay that jump, you get to listen to a song that goes for 3 minutes before it repeats itself. It really is great song.

    • @Amanda-gg6kz
      @Amanda-gg6kz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Here's the song I'm referring to, in case he doesn't do the video, and anyone is curious about what I'm talking about:

    In my opinion, the controls are perfect. Learning to use the moveset is how you master the game. If this game were like contra, it would be too easy. Ken is powerful, and throwing punches and kicks is super sweet! Granted, you can cheese some bosses, but between the action, the music, the style and challenge, 2010 ten is an underrated gem.

    The whole losing your power-ups when you get hit but don't die is like Mario. You have the fire-flower, but get hit once you'll lose it, but you're still alive. You have any power-up, you'll lose it after getting hit just once. Looks like they took a page from Mario's playbook. lol

    I had some aging friends that liked NES, and they had a copy of this. I wanted one not long after. But in my case, I ended up using a game genie, gold with black strap, to beat the tar out of that game again and again until I knew it so well I took the Genie off. I absolutely did once play this game in one life, while managing to keep my level ups high. I liked to drag the little orb through the enemies during the back flip, and you can shoot them at the top of the flip too. So I didn't take too many hits and found my way through, but that took an ungodly amount of practice.

    I bought this. I love it. You complain about control, but I like it. You just need to treat this game like an arena battle game. Like Unreal Tournament.
    As for powerup: If you get hit, you lose life, AND half power. So by the end of the match you probably lose another half power, like a fighting game.
    The game is a bit easy, but gets harder after 14:50.
    9:50 is easy with full power, full health. Just stand there and spam the punch button.

    I really like this game a lot. It has a handful of frustrating moments that I would describe as "Mega Man difficulty". That is, a few parts prey on the player not knowing what's coming and lure you into a death trap. But the game isn't as tough as I think it's reputation has made it out to be. I'd call it an unsung gem of the NES.

    Power ups gets drained if you get hit, but there is a cap, if you have 2 power ups, getting hit wont drain it below 2 (or was it 2,5)
    About jump damage: if you jump and hit damage is, lets say 1. Normal shot, with out diagonial input or jumping is faster and can do multiple shots, damage 0,5)
    I loved this games movement, so pricise, the charracter dies exactly what player inputs, it is possible to play this game through without getting hit even once. (2nd boss is random what he does, but even forward shot can be dodged) a great game, have beaten it as a child without getting hit. One of my favorite 8bit games.

    • @SinSorrowEU
      @SinSorrowEU 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those boss cheases 🤣 I played this game a LOt as a child, newer knew of any cheese =P like stand in a corner , press down and shoot things, always moved all the time, dodging and weaving. +I dont agree that movement is ”janky”. I think movement is one of the bests in 8bit. So much that can do with back flips, know when to be grounded and do damage faster or when to jump to evade incoming damage. In my opinnion it was a trade off, be grounded and faster damage, or more airborne to evade but lose damage. Last stages time limit was cruel untill got practise.

    Have you considered playing ninja gaiden ps3 version. That game is nucking futs. Or dmc 3 on ps2.

    I watched Arino on game center CX struggle with the game. I have struggled with it as well. It is a hard game, but quite a good game

    This game took up a lot of time for me when I was a kid! I loved it because of its platforming, but it was hard! I doubt we actually beat it, but I'm not sure.
    Actually watching the video to the end, a lot of that end stuff is very familiar, so I guess we must have beaten it.
    I wish I knew all the exploits, we had to do everything the hard way lol
