Why did Ableton abandoned the precious "Seg BPM" function in the audio clip view ? From version 1 to version 10, this function showed the actual bpm of a sample and worked perfectly ! Live 11 hasn't it anymore ... 😥
This method is only correct when the track has been played with a metronome. To chase a track with variable BPM (e.g. funky tracks played) I haven't found any function integrated into Ableton to do it.
hey ! thanks for your video. when I do the first manipulation you suggest, unfortunately the sequence's tempo changes with the tempo, even if I put it on "off"... i really don't know what to do here...
Yes, but only if you're looking to have the rest of your session elements follow the tempo of your song. For instance, if you insert a delay and set it to tempo instead of time, it will always be in time if you have mapped the tempo of the song. You can of course turn warp on and select any tempo you like, but you may lose some of the original feel of the song.
Ableton is lame. No beat analyzer? Denon SC5000 have it and it's not even a laptop. Get with it, guys. SMH Just use tunebat Analyzer and upload your track. It'll do it much quicker.
@@troywakeman yes. If you have a vocal only stem which is not in tempo, you will need to manually warp it to your beat. If it was originally in tempo then you can easily match it with a beat by trial and error or manually playing the beat with the song. The manually warping an off tempo vocal is very hectic.
OMFG why, just WHYYY the guys in Ableton still didnt managed to make a button "Analyze PBM"? Its 2023 already.
that's what I thought!
my 18 year old cdj’s auto detect bpm, no idea why Ableton can’t!
😢😢😢
What’s pbm
@@rappsongs beats per month
Thank you for your time! Its a clear explanation and solved my problem! Have a good one!
and just why now the autowarp is a dumb in ableton 9 it was able to auto warp correctly and now its fully bugged

This is so cool! Thanks for the tutorial.
Awesome! I'm glad you liked it!

How do you get the horizontal lines (0 crossing point)? I just have normal vertical grid , tried zooming in and out.
Very much appreciate this walk thru!
Thanks for this, really useful, subbed! ;D
Awesome, thank you!
How I’ve been looking for this. Thank you
That's great! I'm glad I was able to make something that helped. Anything else you would like to see?
How can I activate the line you use to see where it crosses the zero point?
Note to self. Continue to use Logic for detecting BPMs.
Or Acid pro ( even Acid music ) .
Ableton in so convoluted here given that on any DJ program it will automatically tell you the bpm upon loading the track!

I had the same issue then figured out that you can click the "Warp" button in the clip options to disable it and then it works !
Amazin this video and your voice
I swear working with old samples in ableton is such a pain in the butt
whwn i click im drag it the clips doesnt move like yours only numbers on bottom
Thanks bro! It was very helpfull
No problem! I'm glad it was useful for you!
follow action part doesnt work for me
Unfortunately an overly complex way of warping audio. it's FAR less complicated than you're portraying it to be.
Using Cubase 13 : 1) analyse audio to make tempo track 2) generate midi click track 3) import the midi track in ableton to get the song tempo
so basically, if we have a song that has a natural non-grid tempo, we need to manually map it?

thanks a lot
wow i thought AL was doing this whole process automatically, are you kidding???
thanks man
howcome there isnt a simple app that does simply this... and ableton cant even do it. wtf.

should have done for an isolated vocal without beat. That's what i am doing and need to find the right bpm.
did u ever find out how to do this
