Other: chalk, cup of water for washing brushes, paper towel for drying brushes

STEPS:
1. 3/4 inch bristle brush - Paint base coat with yellow, orange, brown, green
2. 3/4 inch bristle brush - Paint 1st layer to foliage on trees with brown, orange, red, yellow, green
3. 3/4 inch bristle brush - Paint leaves on ground with white, yellow, orange, brown, red
4. #4 round brush - Paint tree trunks and branches with brown and black
5. 3/4 inch bristle and #4 round brushes - Finish trees with back, brown, green, yellow, white, red, orange
6. 3/4 inch bristle and #4 round brushes - Paint sun with white, yellow, light green (made in step 5), orange
7. Chalk - Draw outline for horse
8. #4 round brush - Paint base coat for horse with white, black, brown
9. #4 round brush - Paint shadow on ground and 1st step to fur with brown, black, gray (made in step 8), orange, yellow, white
10. #0 round brush - Finish face with black, white, gray, brown, orange, red
11. #0 and #4 round brushes - Finish body with brown, red, white, gray, cool gray (made in step 10), orange
12. #0 round brush - Paint mane and tail with white, yellow, brown, orange
13. #0 round brush - Sign with black

Thing is, I don’t know how good I am until I start painting. I look at a composition and think no way. Until I grab the
Brush… they have a life of there own?? Example: half way doing John Wayne and , “ how am I going to get that”?.
I Did it. Two of almost the same colour. weird or wot.

Michelle I tried your last Autumn painting and I kept painting over it. I just couldn't get the trees to look believable. I have been painting a lot of people for several months now and I think I just lost my way with landscapes is that possible? I started with landscapes and your dad and kid fishing on the river the one with the really bright sun with the rays. Do you have any advise? I put the trees on but then when I add the branches and trunks they look weird and somehow my trees never turn out looking real. Please help. Oh and I can't become a member again yet I had a pretty bad car accident and I am not working right now but will hope to be soon. I miss the lives you do they were so much fun.
Hi, Sure if you are regularly painting one subject, it might take a few attempts to get back into the groove of doing another subject. Without seeing your painting, I can't really tell you what, or if, you're doing something wrong. I would just take it in baby steps and not move on to the next step until you're satisfied with what you've done. I hope this advice helps. I hope you're healing fast from the accident. hugs from my easel to yours!
