As much as I respected Jack, he and McCarver were not a good fit. CBS wanted McCarver to be the baseball equivalent of John Madden, which might have worked if they hadn't fired Musburger, but was not fair to Buck.

Never knew Pittsburgh was interested in Jeff Reardon. Perhaps that 9th inning goes differently in Game 7 if he was a Pirate.
