So far, I've known just a little about Sunmi's music, but right now I'm watching a show called "running girls" where she's participating. And I'm totally falling for her! She's SO kind, so sweet, talented, she's a beautiful human being, and she has gone through so much already, it's really impresive that she's still a strong, kind person and a great artist too!
Also, Fifi if you see this comment, knowing that you like choreographys, you should check out a famous performance of Gashina. It's really cool to see how she plays with gender "roles". Like, if you pay attention, the female dancers do all the "masculine" moves and vice-versa. It's awesome.
Actually, just saw that the choreography I talked about is a "special version", anyway...

ALL of sunmi's MVs are legendary imo but she also released a special video called "borderline" about her mental health and the pressures of society/fame. it's entirely in english, as she spent a lot of time abroad (i think mostly in la?) and developed a fascination and eye for american media! her song "noir" is also related to this, because she watched a lot of noir films while she was learning english. i hope you enjoy the rest of her work!!!

In case you don’t know Sunmi debuted in 2007 she was in wonder girls and is part of 2nd generation. Also I recommend you check out her other songs lalalay and full moon.

SUNMI!!! Thank you for reacting to her!! Honestly her style of singing, dancing and just,,, being is so unique. Not surprised that you've heard of Gashina fvgbhjuhytgfr this song is so iconic honestly, I feel like every idol danced to the chorus at least once. She performed it with Taemin on MAMA 2017 (and it was SO good). She was also originally a member of Wonder Girls! She has another great song called Lalalay (among other ones, lalalay is just my fave honestly). Speaking of good female soloists, I'm on the BoA agenda again. She's a VERY good solo artist from SM who I cannot recommend enough. Some mvs of hers are Woman, Better, One Shot Two Shot and Nega Dola :)

You must must MUST react to “Siren” and “Heroine” as they are a part of the “Gashina” trilogy. Also, my favorite “Noir”...that video is very meaningful.
Sumni is such a great artist I really love her style. The imagery in her music videos is just *chefs kiss* The ones that showcase it the best in my opinion are siren, and lalalay. Noir also does a great job. Those are also one of her more interesting tracks so I would recommend checking them out? She also seems to have a very distinctive dance style- the moves she does are I don’t know simple but eccentric and effective. Overall I love her sound and art.
pporappippam was one of the best 80s retro tracks of 2020, sadly I felt it was a bit overlooked and get the feeling her popularity is on a downward trajectory. Hopefully the collab she did with JYP "When We Disco" might have given a boost to her popularity and recognition among new k-pop fans.
Gashina was a massive hit in 2017, and the finger guns choreo was iconic replicated by everyone on variety shows etc.
As you've done Gashina, you should probably include Heroine if you do another reaction to Sunmi as it's a tied story line with Gashina.

Gashina has such a deep meaning with the lyrics (double meanings), the CHOREO (motif of guns and flowers), and everything in the music video (her "crazy" behavior, flowers, etc). Sunmi and her team work so hard making a WHOLE production. Amazing song and video that embodies the hurt, anger, and feelings of craziness after being dumped lol.

Hello i really love your reactions and also sunmi, her songs can seem weird at first, but they are very unique and catchy. Maybe you can try to react to Yubin "Lady" and "Thank u so much" mvs. Yubin is also an old member of wonder girls as sunmi if I remember correctly and she does really retro songs (lady is 70s disco, tysm is 80s and there's even another inspire by the 60s I think) it's really unique and interesting, I think you will find them catchy

For me Heroine and Siren are Sunmi's best representative songs. Heroine is so euphoric like a song in a festival celebration with a tinge of sadness and leaving behind the old, while Heroine is just pure 80s beat with lots of adrenaline to give.

Fun personal fact: when I saw the video of pporappippam I was like "Um no" and I didn't even finish it! And one day I was walking and listening to Spotify's recommendations and I was like "what are these magnificent instrumentals and omg it's pporappippammmmmm!" And yeah, that's how it ended up in my faves for 2020. I do love Noir and Siren by her, I mean... She's Red Velvet's 6th member with that slight creepiness and coolness to her MVs...

"gashina" literally means thorny; using the word to describe a woman was a (now largely out of fashion) way to call her b*tchy. The visuals are about claiming/embracing the label and saying "I'm done flailing around aimlessly because of rejection, Imma drink your abandoned shake and just be myself"
First tune not too much my vibe but well made poppy tune, I could deffo see it ringing off inna club. 2nd tune reminds me of a nice tune you'd hear at the end of a 80s Jackie chan film. Visuals was on point but that's a given, and she had titty meat on display so that's always a plus. She interesting. 2 Well executed releases. Nigga
