The Australian F150 is a conversion. To quote the Driven article 'The right-hand drive models that AusEV will offer are converted left-hand drives by Brisbane based Advanced Manufacturing Queensland (AMQ).'

Formula E should go to battery swapping if it needs longer races (which it does). And courses besides street courses.

I’d love to know if that’s possible. Would allow for much better, longer racing as you say. In theory, no reason EVs couldn’t do endurance racing.

That is a perfect use case for swapping AND changing the battery with a full one is most comparable to getting another tank of gas.

@loriallen67 no, it's the f-1 coming into the pit, and the crew pull out the disconnect the gas line, fuel pump and sensors and then remove the fuel cell and installing a new one reconnecting the fuel pump, lines, electronics and sensors.

Can't wait to see how plug-in Ford Ranger will turn up to be. For me looks like a quite neat solution

Instead of pit stop charging, what about mobile inductive charging for formula e racing?

You'd have to require the drivers to each stay in one lane.

They'd definitely have to offer more for me to switch from a Tesla to a Ford. I just can't fully trust anyone but Tesla with EVs yet. And, with FSD getting close to robotaxi, they'd have to damn near give it to me free before I'd switch ;p
Last I saw of hybrids is that hardly anyone uses them as a hybrid; they just never plug it in to charge the battery, so it ends up being a less efficient ICV. Good in theory but not so good in practice.

I'm curious as to the customer they are trying to pouch from Tesla. At the moment very few people have a Cybertruck, so they are trying to encourage saloon car or SUV(?) drivers into a pickup truck.

@@kalebdaark100I'm sure the reasoning is like this:
"They have a line of waiting CT customers. We have a bunch of pickup trucks sitting around. Maybe we can get some of their customers to buy our pickup!"

Your show is great. I like to watch, so I catch it TH-cam. BUT, would it be better for you $$ if I listen on Spotify. Also, I am TH-cam Premium if that makes a difference.

Honestly it’s just amazing to have a community of people who enjoy the content. The ad rate is higher on Youtibe, but it can’t hurt to add the audio to your download subs list even if you end up deleting them.

F150 Lightning is just another huge vehicle though even for Australian roads guessing about same size as RAM which there are some of already on roads here for those that are seriously over-compensating on various fronts. Unlikely Ford locally will support them and no OTA or Warranty beyond what the converter/importer MAY give.

The long range rwd is ideal. Most people even those that get some snow don't need awd

Good marketing tactic, a lot of Tesla fans have never tried anything else and think that Tesla invented the wheel

I like look of the BYD Hybrid Pick-up, with its 30KwH battery pack and running a little over 450bhp in a "Ranger" sized pick-up.

@mikadavies660 sorry but Chinese auto are trash worst than Korean auto

@dstylez1171 I agree that many brands are poorly built. But Japanese cars were rusty Jap crap! Then Toyota sorted that out. Don't sit back and feel comfortable that Chinese cars will ALWAYS be shit. As they want "domination" and are determined to get it. Not something I support, at all.... But they will keep pushing until they achieve something.
As they already make about 90% of the world's batteries.... They are on their way

Wait a minute....so they are losing 30k per mustang sold...then paying Tesla owners to try thier inferior product....lowering the sale price...all the while UAW demads outrageous pay...where is the brains

It could be said that the WLTP numbers have helped vehicle manufacturers appear more efficient for their carbon footprint.🤔 If it showed the actual facts will that then in turn force manufacturers to improve or are they judged by another measure and only the public is affected by a relative number comparison that is actually irrelevant. 🫤 23:30
