In this episode of JMR REBUILDERS, we take on an exciting challenge with the cheapest 6.0 Powerstroke in the country! Will this budget-friendly diesel engine come back to life, or are we in for more than we anticipated? We suspect the issue lies within the high-pressure oil pump system or the injectors, but the real problem might be deeper-possibly the oil pump itself.
Join us as we roll up our sleeves and dive into the diagnosis and repair of this 6.0 Powerstroke. Watch as we uncover the unexpected, troubleshoot potential problems, and share every step of our journey to get this beast running again. So I’m not a 6.0 hater, if you “bullet proof” it, they’re good engines. Their biggest flaw was replacing the 7.3
It looks like too nice of truck to part, if another 6.0 isn’t an option, what about a 5.4 or V10? Just thinking a factory motor might drop in and plug in easiest. The fact it’s not a rust bucket helps, you don’t see them like that in the Midwest
Yeah she was in great shape and was kinda sad she didn't start. Fortunately we sold her already and made a good profit. Thanks for comment and support
That crank no start was an ICP sensor. If you had a reader, and checked ICP percentage/PSI, sub 500 won't even start. Cranking PSI 700+.
It could have been part of the problem for sure. Thst would not explain the metal in the oil filter, though. Either way thank you for the support and comment
If it's not sending any oil to the filter, it will never make any ICP Pressure. And the ICP percentage needs to be under 85% for the sensor to work, and the ICP pressure does need to be over 500 to crank off the injectors, but it appears to have no oil pressure at all.
@@jamesyoung3295 Maybe an LPOP? These HPOPs don't particularly go bad and shed. But if there is shavings, maybe a lifter dropped and destroyed the LPOP. . That'd be where it'd go, could've been the shavings then.
I bought same truck for 1500 bucks threw 2 injectors in it now it runs like a champ hauling a 40ft gooseneck everyday
Let's go congrats man. That's a killer deal. This one was a bit worse. Ended up selling it and making decent money. Thanks for comment and support

Let's go!

25:39 @@JMRRebuildersI seen that one I love all of yalls videos stay safe out there and watch out for snakes and wasps on those over grown restores 👍 oh definitely put another motor in it body is solid and beats a truck payment theses days
Heck yeah we try to. Thanks for watching and supprt. We love it
Nice job sir cool truck Ford 😃👏👏👏👍👍👍👍
Thank you we really appreciate the support and comment
They're good motors if you really get to understanding them. It sounds like a dead cylinder when cranking and or a worn cam/lifter. It's very common for a cam needle bearing to drop down into the oil pump and cause it to need rebuilt. Either way it's clean enough you can part it out and not have to worry about much.
Yes it is a great truck and to be honest we just don't have the time to pull the cab and rebuild the motor. We ended up selling it onto someone else and made a good profit on it. Thanks for the comment and support.
No problem. I’m a die hard 6.0 fan and regret selling both of mine for huge profits during COVID markup. I’ll also be using your video to an extent, to coyote swap my 95 Flareside. Just wish you had a swap series without a Vic front end swap lol
Yeah, we got a gen 1 lightnin swap on stock suspension, but it was already set on the truck. Good luck let us know if you need any help
@@JMRRebuilders what crossmember was used?
Factory cross member you just cut where you need and weld on 4.6 cobra mounts
6.4 swap it
My buddy landon would probably agree with ya he a fan of the 6.4. Thanks for comment and support
My buddy bought his 04 for 600 so i doubt anyone else got one cheaper that didnt need much
That's awesome sauce. Thanks for comment and support.
Only thing I know about a diesel is I wouldn't have one .
Yeah that ain't a bad idea for sure. Thanks for comment and support
Time for a Cummins swap , make another Fummins 😊
Def would be a better option then it's current option. Thanks for the comment and support.
Pull the junkie 6.0 out put 7.3 in it
