…..because he was always injured, couldn’t hit 3’s, and isn’t NBA material. Bad pick by Monte. Quit scapegoating MB and fire GM and get a new owner that doesn’t meddle and fire coaches at the first sign of adversity because his GM doesn’t do his job.
@ BS. He actually kept Sac in the Cup tournament against GSW. He played 20 consecutive mins, made a huge block on Curry to win the game and later Mike Brown didn't give him a single min and said DPOY of the game is some other guy...
@@briangoodner8680 disagree... even in a new league, new country, terrible inconsistent role he still shot 37 percent from 3 as a sf/pf with some size.. he was weak defensively in the spead game but i think if he got his legs under him he could have been effective offensively this 3 point league
Well judging by his track record and how players always seem to have an issue with his style of play and coaching. I think MB was a big part of the issue.
Huh? Mike Brown is a beloved “players coach” and highly respected around the league. Sasha is sour grapes because he couldn’t stay healthy, hit threes, or play defense at the NBA level, so Mike didn’t give him the playing time he thought he deserved.
@@briangoodner8680 Respected, yes. Beloved. Naaah far from it. The word "Players Coach" gets tossed around frequently these days. I dont think so. I think Doug is more of a player coach and he's been a player. Keon also got weird play time. With Doug, he's already played 38 minutes in a game instead of being DNP'd.
@@briangoodner8680He would have been a head coach long before the Kings if that was true. Monk clearly didnt like him, obviously his relationship with Fox wasn't good, he was constantly was taking Keon I'm and out of the lineup. No one on the team seemed like they cared he was fired.
Doug is great too, that’s not my point. The fact there’s been no press conference from Vivek or Monte shows that this firing is indefensible. MB isn’t the problem. Incompetent front office and meddling owner are the problem.
As someone who has followe Vezenkov for 10+ years, this is a pretty good take. Well done! Couple of things to add - it was really a Sasha- MB thing, not so much the front office. He wanted out as soon as MB got the extension. He probably would've been good in Toronto, but he wanted to play for a 'relevant team' as he wants to continue winning trophies (Toronto might be relevant in 3-5 years). He has come back better than he left and with Fournier they are a handful for defenses. I think it was a smart move on his part, though I would have enjoyed watching him play in this Kings team where there is more freedom and movement of the ball.
I got excited when we got Sasha. But Brown ruined that. Kings fan since they moved here. All these coaches, pundits and non-fans are hurt cuz this coach got fired. He did good in his first year. Thats it!! So what? We didn’t make the playoffs last year. And we weren’t going to make it this year. He was on a slide. He tore this great team apart.
I've been saying this since half way through last season, Mike Brown is not a good coach. Glad Kings got rid of him. Shouldn't even extend him to begin with.
This is Vivek’s 8th coach in 12 years. Only one coach has coached the team for more than 4 years since Kings have been in Sacramento (Adelman). Mike Brown isn’t the problem and Doug Christie isn’t the solution. I think he will do a fine job but will deal with every other coach for the Kings has dealt with: terrible leadership. The Kings were a very fluky team through amazing injury fortune and extraordinary clutch stats, was 3 seed a couple seasons ago. They were far from the 3rd best team in the West and the playoffs proved that. They are a play in team essentially and haven’t really underperformed from that standpoint. What did Mike Brown in was unrealistic expectations and an inability for the Kings and their fans to accurately assess their roster. They have middling talent and no franchise centerpiece that can move the needle (Luka, Giannis, Jokic, etc) and get them in top half of the conference. Best thing for the Kings to do would be to get out the middle (not good enough to advance, not bad enough to draft high) and trade Fox to highest bidder and reset. But Fanbase and franchise won’t tolerate that so stuck in the middle they will stay. And so, the delusion continues. Happy New Year everyone!
Idk about any of the locker room conflicts or any of that stuff. But it’s hard for me to imagine the Kings will be better without Mike Brown coaching. Maybe though. But that doesn’t necessarily mean he deserves to be axed the way he was.
Dude never got to play

Well Mr. Nostradamus, then quit saying it because it shows your knowledge of coaching isn’t based in facts.
I was also against the extension. Great to see smart people around here

Sasha played no defense and that's what hurt him.
Doug Mcermott got a start lol
Buuuut nobody played defense. Except the one guy MB REFUSED to play in game 7. So I'd say some pretty mixed signals have been sent.

His fans in Europe don’t think so and don’t care what you think
@ Congrats to them and him. He got paid not to perform.
Your partner on the split screen says it all, bunch of bull. He is not interested at all in what your saying. Total distraction
I think that's the producer. He had to get to other things during the show
Sasha couldn’t guard anyone to slow and inconsistent
You just described Trey lyles lol
