Not only is Ben going to be looked back on as one of this generation's great extreme vocalists, but I don't think Shadow of Intent have even begun to peak. Every album, they lean more and more into their own sound and it has been an absolute treat to witness.
I wouldn't consider myself a huge deathcore/deathmetal fan. Bands like Shadow of Intent, Lorna Shore and Brand of Sacrifice has completely won me over though, during these past 2 years or so. These guys are just so enjoyable and fresh to listen to! And just beyond talented. Really like you guys and this channel to! Checked you out just yesterday and now you got me stuck haha. This album is gonna be fucking insane, just by the track names I can tell - they bring the album out the day after I go see them in concert so I’m a bit disappointed I won’t be able to blow my lungs out screaming along with them
Returning to this a year later and just taking in how prescient Ben was about how even more war and devastation was likely to come to Ukraine -- and also that Ukraine would rise to withstand another existential threat. An incredibly thoughtful and talented man. The song hits even harder now than it did when I first heard it on a number of levels.
It’s supposed to be inspired by facts and eye witness of humanity’s worst disasters and yes the whole “now it’s our turn for the scouring with a hatred relentlessly swarming skies wail as rockets are hurling coming down to earth screaming and bursting miles miles and miles of corpses they grow witness to vindictive forces” AWE it’s so emotional
Shadow of Intent's newest album is a masterpiece from start to finish. I am hoping they do a video for Blood in the Sands of Time with Chuck Billy it's amazing. Love watching your reactions as always.
I'm honestly not into Fit For an Autopsy, but Shadow of Intent are so goddamn incredible I'm completely happy with just them dropping in January. So stoked for this album.
Reminds me a lot of Peter Steele and for who don’t know him he was the singer of Type O Negative. Just parts of this song he looks and sounds like him.
