    I don't understand reviewers who say a compact head doesn't provide confidence. For me, it's the exact opposite - a big chunky clubhead just looks like I could miss it all over the face where a compact club face gives you a much better chance at a solid strike.

      Never understood that comment either. The big super game improvement irons look like the leading edge is half way up the ball.

      Totally agree. Got new irons this year to replace my MP59’s. The only things I liked were thin top lines. Actually went in for more help but got fitted to MP20 blades. Index dropped from 1.6 to +.8. Power bats are not always the way to go.

      I agree. I play srixon z585. I was practicing at golf tech and picked up the ping g700 shovel they had. I couldn’t hit that big monster at all. Sidenote I ordered a combo set of t100s with t200 in the 5 and 4.

      Yeah same thing for me , i have a 18 hdcp and i play the t100 because i like the feeling of them and I'm more confident with these than let say the Callaway rogue or any of those huge head , I feel like with the big heads i don't know where the ball will end up

      A lot of it is personal experience. Like driving iron vs hybrid or fairway wood. I've heard a lot of older pros actually like more offset because it's what they had growing up.

    Perfect I tested T100s earlier this fall and was wondering how these two would be together.
    I hope you do a T200 and 225 head to head also. I was thinking about a Titleist combo set but now I want to test the 223 and 225 irons it seems like Mizuno has already done the blending with the design of their irons.

    The T100s was designed for high-spin players that have trouble keeping their spin down, players who want a little more distance, and also to provide better gapping when building combo sets with T-200 (a strong lofted iron set).

    I really wish they would add one more column, and that column would be feel, most golfers like me 2 to 9 handicappers want to know how the club feels at impact, it seems like everyone wants yardage yardage yardage. When all they’re doing is building a six iron and putting a seven on the bottomthat helps with yardage. However, want to know if one is softer and feels smoother or if one has a click and feels harder at impact. Michael Newton’s reviews are fantastic but please start talking more about feel and not just distance. Thank you.

    I found the t100 to be on the "large and too offset" side of things (but they have a nice topline)... The 223 are therefore not for me, and that leads me to a problem: with the exception of Titleist (which are on the pricier side of things) it's almost impossible to find a "not totally bladed" iron with compact head, thin topline, little to no offset and "normal-ish lofts" (think 34-35° 7 iron). Life's becoming increasingly difficult for that "long-hitting 5 to 10 hcp playing on hard greens" who still shy away from pure blades...

      The new T100/T100s were very deliberately made smaller than all previous AP2 to get more tour guys playing them - they want to get rid of the CB which doesn't see well - and as such, it's basically the size of a blade - which is NOT what Mizuno did for this 223. I have a few sets of clubs I play, one is the original 2008 AP2s - and when I went to the National Titleist fitting center with them to get fit for the T100&T100s it's what they told me - and why many of their fittings are leading to T200 being put in the bag when guys come in for T100 fittings. I think we will see most 223 sales go to 5-12 handicappers with JPX Tours being more popular with lower handicappers - just like the T100s.

    223s are too big IMO. T100 for the win. Btw… if you can hit a 223 you can game 221s…way better feel and look, shockingly forgiving.

    • @joepawling4735
      @joepawling4735 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Really?? I just place my order for the 223’s, didn’t like the 225’s but didn’t even consider the 221’s. Have never hit a blade, don’t consider myself good enough. The 223’s felt buttery through impact good distance with not much roll out. Just felt more confident with 223’s versus the 225’s, too hot off the face.

    Your conclusion was very questionable. The only reason the Mizuno circle was bigger is because you pulled one. Had you pulled one with the titleist the circle would be the same.

      Mizuno standard spec is flatter than Titleist - so what you are seeing is 4 of 5 falling right and then a compensation that led to a pull

      @@jimfarrell7196 he's using fitting heads, you can see it in the video. Also, even when Michael request his standard spec, 1/2" longer and 2-degrees upright, it will be from the manufacturer's spec, which again, Mizuno is almost always 1.5-degrees flatter than Titleist (i.e. 61.5-degree 7-iron for Mizuno vs 63-degrees for Titleist - what I call the tall American spec vs the short Japanese spec) - and that is why when Michael test's Mizuno's, I often see them fall slightly right - he could, of course, bend them the same but he doesn't appear to do that.
