- Hi. We're Maurice and Carolyn. This is the first of our Jamaica vlogs. Come with us as we visit Sandals Negril in Negril, Jamaica. We stayed in the Sandals Negril Honeymoon Beachfront Butler Suite - HS for 7 days. This was out first trip after the pandemic so we were curious on how things would operate with certain travel changes.
Flying out of BWI in Maryland we took a nonstop flight to Montego Bay airport. There we were greeted with a sign from our Club Mobay rep and walked quickly through customs, baggage, and check in as we awaiting our shuttle to the resort. Locate on the beautiful 7 mile beach Sandals Negril has tons of activities for everyone.

I'm between Sandals Negril and Antigua. I feel like water in Antigua may contain less jellyfish and urchins I feel like that's all I read on TripAdvisor....I never know what to believe 😂.. but I'm sure we will have a great time wherever we end up!
my wife and i are going Negril Sandals in June 2022! We are also leaving from BWI. We are staying in the two story butler beach front suites. I hope we have as much fun. Thanks for posting this. Any tips?
@@demos4667 Thank you so much for watching. Check on your pre booked excursions that they still exist. One of ours was cancelled weeks prior to our arrival and we weren't told until we were on the resort. Tip the drivers. Bring plenty of cash for when you go off resort to the shops between Sandals and Beaches. Hope you guys enjoy and if there's anything else we can help with.
@Slim Pickens congrats on the wedding and honeymoon. I hope you guys have an amazing time. I’ve heard great things about that resort, so definitely enjoy as much as possible. I would also recommend that if you have an excursion set up for the day after you arrive, make sure that you go to the excursion desk as soon as you get to the resort to check in. If you missed the check in time, that could affect if that excursion happens the next day, or if you miss out.

Hey LaTonia and thank you for reaching out. We greatly enjoyed having our own butler suite and butler. You have a phone to call your butler any time of the day, they will bring you your room service, breakfast/coffee/tea in the morning, make your water sports reservations and dinner reservations based on your selection, and also escort to you to all. You will have an assigned set of chairs in the beach with extra towels and a cooler stocked first thing in the morning with your choices of water, Fruta drinks, or Red Strip. Really hope you enjoy.

Oh man you will have a ball. Airport travel there is easy, just have your negative covid test, passport, and country document from the visitJamaica.com website and you should be good to go. Not sure if you have Club Monday or not, but would definitely recommend if you have the early morning flight out of BWI. Hope you enjoy you stay. Are you staying at Sandals Negril or Montego Bay?
@@Mauriceandcarolyn We will be staying at South Coast this trip! How early did y’all arrive at the airport for your flight? 3 hours?
@@laurenhilbert5101 They recommend three hours for international travel. So plan ahead with getting to long-term parking either in long-term parking a, or the garage. We chose parking A because it seem like it had more shuttles that ran there. If you have not already, sign up now for Clear. I believe they are still doing a promotion for the first 30 days and you can add family members. It just makes your check in process a lot easier while going through security. Have your passport and negative Covid test sheet printed out, so as you are checking your bags you don’t have to play with your phone and showing your results. But honestly it will probably take a total of 30 minutes from the time you step into the terminal to the time you make it through security and walking to the gate.

Congrats to you! It was definitely a nice place to visit. That rum cream was something else lol. But the custom pizzas were bomb as well.
What kind of champagne is it? How was the food? Was it hard to get reservations and sit at the bars?
Thanks for the comment Blake. Not sure the type of champagne but it was very good and refreshing. The food was amazing and I don’t think we had one bad dish while we were there. The bars are open so they you can drink there as long as they are open. And if you have a butler they can order it and bring it to you. People that go to the bar get their drink and love so others can order. And man are they good lol. Hope you get a chance to enjoy. Let me know if you have any other questions

How far is this resort from the airport ?
It’s about 1 hour 45 minutes with stops along the way. Very nice route .
Is the airport lounge something separate or part of sandals?
Hi. The Club Mobay lounges are separate if you get the addition when booking your Sandals vacation. It includes the free food and drinks. With it you also get the service of priority movement through the airport upon arrival.
@@Mauriceandcarolyn thank you for the info. I just booked yesterday and I’m already having buyer’s remorse thinking maybe I could have gone to couples for a better experience. I’m worried we are going to get bored or since I just went with the most basic room and not the butler service we won’t have as nice an experience. Any thoughts?
@@thekizmetzephyr absolutely not. I think you will have a great time. Some of the rooms may be standard rooms, but the views, amenities, and overall experience is definitely worth it. You can use your saved money for photo packages, excursions, and also to book your next sandals vacation at a discount while you’re still on the premises. There are excursions that are free to the resort, and then there are those that you can book where a shuttle takes you off the ground. We for sure didn’t use the Butler as much as we should have, but having our own private chair on the beach with our drinks in a cooler and them taken care of dinner reservations and other things was definitely worth it. All in all he will be in good hands.
@@Mauriceandcarolyn thank you for your reassurance. We’ve done a fair bit of traveling as a family (think Disney) where it’s go go go, but never to a luxury resort to just chill before. This will be a once in a lifetime kind of trip for us so I put off committing to finally make the payment for months. I really needed to hear I made the right choice so thank you so much!! ❤️

Hey guys! I'm planning to go there shortly. Just wondering if anything is different due to COVID in terms of masks on the resort or entertainment.
Hi and thank you for the comment. In terms of mass on the resort, all staff members and employees of Sandals wear masks at all time. Guests or not required to wear masks while at the resort. However, anytime you take a shuttle or leave the resort to go on an excursion, masks are required. The nightly entertainment staff that sings and dances don’t wear masks while on stage or on the beach while performing.
