Glad to hear it's getting remastered and remixed, I never liked the original mix on it, who knows maybe I'll enjoy it this time around... same goes for Rocka Rolla! Not personally buying it, but I'm excited to stream it, maybe it'll make me enjoy Queen more. However, my ONLY gripe is that I despise when bands don't make a CD set AND a Vinyl set... I want one or the other not both, I have no use for CDs, and some people have no use for Vinyl
Yeah, I just checked the entire list. This will be great. The album needed a remix. Have you heard The Night Comes Down remixed? It hit last night here in Europe. Lots of the live stuff is from The Rainbow 1974, but I am happy they have thrown in some stuff from 1970 that I do not have....
from the track list it looks fine and I mean when it comes to box sets I think it depends whether or not the material on it is worth it, Bathory for example considered putting out a box set of unreleased material featuring EPs and albums that were incomplete/got scrapped, it never happened but that box set would've been wild for their fan base.
I will probably pick up the 2 cd set. I gotta say i am not a huge fan of adding tracks that were not a part of the original release. Adding it to a bonus material disc or as a bonus track at end of the original album is cool. But ultimately it is only one song so it doesn't totally ruin it for me. The DP Machine Head boxset added When A Blind Man Cries to the vinyl remix but then had a cd with the original album so i was happy. Hate to sound nitpicky 😂
That's like putting a new scene in the middle of a classic movie. Director's cut, musician decision, whatever. It's wrong. The album becomes the public's.
I'll buy the 2 CD and wait for the price of the box set to drop. I'm mostly interested in the live tracks. Hopefully they sound better than the live tracks in the two KISS sets did.
The video for "The Night Comes Down" was released... It is a horror on so many levels... Pitch-correcting Freddie's voice is an unforgivable sin; it sounds like a synthetic Freddie bot, there is no life in it anymore... The drums sound like they were replaced with sampled drum sounds with terrible digital sounding reverb... There is bad compression on the mix that introduced a weird high frequency noise throughout much of the song, like a bad digital artifact... And the AI slop in the video is an abomination that goes completely against the ethos of early Queen. I understand that the band wasn't happy with the original mix, but instead of tastefully fixing it, they made it sound like digitally-misprocessed anachronistic shit.
Will you be purchasing this Queen boxset? Let me know below!
I will be purchasing the 2CD edition...

I agree, a CD and vinyl boxset should be separate. The original mix is okay, but I’m very interested to hear how they improved it.
I might buy the 2 CD Edition.
That one looks really cool too!
Great man. I think the live CD is mostly from 1974. I am getting the super delux version and I cannot wait!
Looking at the track listing, it looks like the live material ranges from 1970-76. Still very cool. Enjoy the deluxe version!

I think the drumming is better on the new Night Comes Down remix. Good stuff!
It's a pass for me but good for Queen actually putting out something worth buying for their fans
For sure. This is the kind of stuff that should go in a boxset… Motley could learn a thing or too!

That boxset would be insane!

I hear you. Part of me says leave the album untouched, but I’m also glad some of those bonus tracks are finally getting the attention they deserve.

The 2 CD looks cool too! Good call to wait for the prices to drop… 2 months after the release and they’ll be cut in half.
Will not be getting the Queen box set out of my price range plus there's other cds I want like Opeth new album
Can't wait for the new Opeth!
Freddie's vocals are pitched. Not happy.
Yeah..the rawness has been sharpened but it's still great.
Money grab......Ill wait and see

You got it! That just sums it up. What were they thinking!
After hearing it myself you’re right. Not sure why the mix sounds this way. And I totally agree, AI in music videos is annoying
its not looking good for wasp death angel dropped now wasp have dropped unto others next they will cancel the whole tour probably
I heard. Blackie admitted to still using backing tracks again too.
If a "rebuild" means pitch correction and autotuned.......its a hard pass for me. 🤔🙄
Since this recording, what I've heard so far has not been great.
