  • Piers Morgan Uncensored opened up last night's show with a touching tribute and discussion about the life of Irish singer Sinead O'Connor who sadly passed away aged 56. Piers reflects on his many encounters with Sinead and describes how even throughout many disagreements, he's never denied her talent and outspokenness. Piers describes her voice as one that 'defined a generation' and how she will be forever missed.
Piers is also joined by Irish broadcaster Dave Fanning to discuss Sinead's impact on Ireland and her withstanding legacy.

I have to say that I am with Morrisey ( And Beth Orton and now Lilly Allen too it seems) on this one. The number of musicians and artist eulogising her only now after she is dead is disgusting virtue signalling. She needed support when she was alive but they were too cowardly to give it because they were afraid that being associated with her would affect their image and careers.

I'm not always Piers's biggest fan but he gets right to the heart of the matter here. This is a raw, honest tribute, by both Piers and Dave Fanning, that made me realise, two days after the event, what an absolute tragedy Sinead's passing is. One can't gloss over the fact that she made some foolish decisions in her life but with a lot of hindsight maybe it was apparent that her spontaneous tears in the NCTY video were a harbinger of things to come, that this was a fragile soul who would need to be nurtured. The music business doesn't teat fragile souls like Sinead very well. You can bet there are executives rubbing their hands at the prospect of the uptick in sales that will result from her passing. The people close to her (professionally) should have done more to help her in her struggles, but maybe we should have as well.

Jesus said, "I tell you the truth no one will see the kingdom of God unless he is born again. I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me." For God so loved the world that He give His only Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but will have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world but to save the World through Him. For all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God. For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord, and All who call upon the name of the Lord will be saved. " If you want to be sure of Heaven and avoid the other place below say the following prayer sincerely from your heart." Lord Jesus I repent and am sorry for my sins forgive me. I forgive all who have offended me. Come into my heart and save me. I accept you as my Lord and Saviour. Fill me with your Holy Spirit and baptise me with your Holy Spirit. Fulfill your plan and purpose in my life. "I recommend you read John's Gospel especially chapter 3.Gbu.John 3v3v22,John 14v6.

@MickeyTheMouth I am sorry I wasn't specific enough. I meant the music industry is unfortunately and ultimately morally corrupt. Harvesting stereotypes about minorities and serving propaganda agendas are the main ways the media works now. Then to produce a Madonna, you have to crush the dreams of thousands of other marginalized artists, who early on were made to believe show business is the only way for them to succeed in life..
I think it's very sad for the majority and turned many of them to suicide. And that's why I think it's very corrupt morally.

If the religion she picked had been demeaning to woman for an ounce, she wouldn't have picked it. Please read the quran and the life of the prophets and then make your opinion. 1400 years ago, when Europe was in the Dark Age, woman in Islam were given the right to own their own property, vote, inherit, and even fight in battlefield. Everyone talked about being understanding regarding mental health problems, except with her. She is an icon and history will definitely be on her side.

For God so loved the world that He give His only Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but will have eternal life. When Sinead spoke
People hung off every word with gripping fascination.
And when she spoke, you just knew she was telling the truth because authentic and real people who speak so openly about what is on their mind rarely are not believed. Take the prince incident- you know it happened exactly like that.
She was wise and beautiful in ways I didn’t even know could exist in a human being. Always have been in awe of her, her fantastic ability with words, her humour, her defiance, her wisdom and her humanity. She was a warrior who was not troubled any more than anyone else would have been given half of what she had been through. And yet she fought on with class and dignity and that cheeky smile.

I’m still so sad at this terrible news. Such a loss to this world. No one sang like Sinéad did. The voice of an Angel 😇 she was blessed by God. The poor lady loosing her son broke her heart, I don’t think she could ever recover from that loss. Now she can sing in heaven and make them all stop in their tracks like she did on earth with her super perching voice 😢 Rest in Peace Sinéad we will never forget you. I most loved how she sang the “Foggy Dew” and “She moved through the fair” ❤

The biggest irony is that Catholic Church stood against eugenics in Ireland in period from 1920's to 1960's ( unlike Sweden, UK etc. where sterilisation of unfit was accepted ) and as a consequence Ireland ended up with higher percent of mentally ill in population. Her son and herself were product of that.

She does have the greatest love song of all time. And she is 1 of a handful of singers who can make me cry. Power such power. She was always asked to duets with the best people in the business.
I fell in love with her the first time I saw her sing. How do you fall in love with someone you never met? How do you mourn and cry for them? It happened to me.
She used her voice to speak out against the wrong in the world. With no regard for herself.

Dont blame the catholic church for everything, it wasn't the church that done it. She was put into care and she was abused in the care homes as was other kids. And it was by the people that worked there or older kids. What about fathers abusing their kids and brothers abusing their sisters. Nuns got raped by the local councillors who took advantage of their position on the school board , alot of them got pregnant. But we dont hear anything about that, people should let her rest now . Her troubles are over and its her family thats left behind will need all the support they can get. Rest easy sinead you are free from this crazy world, her self and Christy Dignam are up there now having a great auld seisuin and uncle Gaybo in the middle of them.

She was a huge bright light in Irish society not just for girls and women, she had th guts to say what we all wanted to say but we're too controlled to utter. She even put Gaybo in his place at the anniversary of the LLS.

The first time I heard Troy I was fascinated and mesmerized by her voice and songwriting.I was fortunate enough to see her live and i was in awe. I admired and enjoyed every album she made and collaboration she was involved in. The fact that mainstream shunned and persecuted her was abhorrent. But I knew without a doubt she was someone amazing. Her soulful principles and beliefs can be heard in each and every note of her singing. Her music aided me in the discovery of my feelings I wished to express in my writing. She is a champagne diamond that only a select few can appreciate. Thank you Mr Morgan for being one of the first people to share with the world what a precious person we have lost. Being a fan for nearly 30 years I am saddened by her departure from this life. May her body rest in peace but her soul will live on as she will never be forgotten.

I was listening to Nothing Compares 2 U a lot in the last few days having just lost my mum, and actually wondering if Sinead was okay after one of the last videos I saw of her talking when she was in a bad way and feeling alone. I’m glad she came back from that enough to get her well deserved award. Everyone with Celtic roots or not got goosebumps every time she sang. Her honesty about thinking of her mother every time she sang what began as a fairly pithy breakup song was another aspect of her incredible interpretation of it that gave it a universal heartbeat 💗.
