Miss Debbie from the Fuller company as she should be is very proud of her family's heritage in the tool industry. Its great to see a long standing family business still going strong.
started using chain saws when I was 13, nobody ever wore hard hats, hearing protection, chaps or had chain brakes and anti-kickback chains on their saws. Nothing wrong with those things, but learning to be mindful and careful around equipment is more important.
Nice that you take the time to showcase high quality mostly American made cutting tooling (Bits, Cutters, Drills) which is where our materials actually come in contact and are machined by the power tools. High quality tooling is where to spend to achieve results! Thanks for paying attention to this segment of woodworking.
Well, I guess I now know what my dream tablesaw will be. That sliding outrigger looks awesome. Goodbye Felder and hello Altendorf. Yes, 99% chance I'll never own either, but hey, one can dream. And awesome to see Andy with Magswitch. I will say that the featherboard is incredible. It's so easy to use/adjust that I end up using it ALL the time.
Altendorf and Felder/Format4 are light years ahead of Sawstop and their systems reset in seconds w/o any damage to expendable parts for NO CONTACT SLIDING TABLE SAWS. Waiting for these systems to be applied to band saws, jointer, planers and, shapers which can and will eliminate serious injuries in woodworking shops from stationary cutting machines.

Hey Matt, are you able to do a video about Rockler router jigs and what jigs, especially the juice groove jig, work with what routers? Would really appreciate it. Thanks for the helpful tips and motivation to start my own woodworking side job, and for helping me make sawdust!
The first 50 minutes or so seems to be geared towards production shops looking to shave a few seconds off of each step - for a BIG price! At 57:34 - the Narex guy talks about how ALL chisels nowadays are made from chrome vanadium - EVERYONE is using chrome vanadium. From Harbor Freight on up... which is why I use that ten dollar set of chrome vanadium chisels with wood handles with hoops on the end from Harbor Freight. The Narex marking knives ARE very nice! I have some old saw blades that I've been thinking of how to recycle - I've been thinking of a Japanese Kiridashi style marking knife but with a point more like those Narex's. Good on ya, brother! Is the Altendorfer hand detection technology the same as that on the Felder saws? Did they share the development? Or are these separate systems, different technologies?
In early 2000, I had a Porter-Cable orbital sander that worked like a beast. A few years ago, the pad that the sand paper attaches to tore off. Since, Porter Cable isn't in business any more I bought a DeWalt orbital sander and I hate to use it. It's loud as hell, ineffectual and looses the sand paper disk. It's a total piece of junk and waste of money. Before I start building my cabinets soon, I'll will be tossing that POS DeWalt for something effectual. So, I am going to check out SurfPrep.
I would’ve really liked to have seen the tablesaw with the cameras how quickly the blade went down if your hand was right next to it and you slid it over because every test they did it got full warning being in line with the blade from far away
@731Woodworks have you encountered anyone doing after market fences for contractor style table saws? Not like the bow extender fence that still connects to the existing fence, but a full replacement? I have not been able to find one for my rigid job site saw and the fence on it is TERRIBLE
Interesting about the Rip-It fence just starting a kickstarter campaign. I paid $1500 in August, 2023 into their kickstarter campaign and I'm STILL waiting for my fence... So, is this kickstarter round 2? Or round 3? or round 47? When will they start delivery?
Oh boy. Best of luck. I backed three KS' (Oculus, Pimax, and Diplopia - now VivdVision) and all have paid off. Seems like a great idea for a fence, but I'm always leery about electronics and dust prone environment.
So far only up to the shark cnc.. and as someone with 0 experience with CNC for the guy to say the software, the actual thing that makes the product work, is not included... So it's 6k for the hardware, and another what, 2k for the software? Software that's 1s & 0s they've already made it, their software engineers salaries aren't already tied into that base price? What if they upgrade, is it free software upgrades for life or is it an upsale? So many questions in this universe of CNC & new age sales tactics. I bet it comes with a subscription as well
This is what sawstop should have done though!!! But instead they wanted to fleece people with the cost of unnecessary cartridge replacements despite the fact the technology is there today to have designed it without having to break anything during an activation. I really hope this catches on and filters down to the consumer market. Sawstop will not last indefinitely with the cartridge replacement technology, any logical person can see it's a deliberate rip off and I would never buy a sawstop purely because of this approach.
That rip it fence is cool, but like a lot of the kluges for saws, it pushes you away from the blade and makes it necessary to operate at an unsafe reach. Time to stop with the 1930s technology and design from the ground up, which is what a lot of European saws did 40 years ago, or for that mater out jobsite saws often have better ergo.
I’ve always thought that SawStop’s design was flawed because there is no need for destroying the blade when all that is necessary is retracting the blade.

That Fuller lady, her accent, her energy and the Fuller story are priceless
Miss Debbie from the Fuller company as she should be is very proud of her family's heritage in the tool industry. Its great to see a long standing family business still going strong.
She's a hoot!
started using chain saws when I was 13, nobody ever wore hard hats, hearing protection, chaps or had chain brakes and anti-kickback chains on their saws. Nothing wrong with those things, but learning to be mindful and careful around equipment is more important.
I’m really impressed with Fuller. Its companies like this I like to patronize. I have a small set of screw drill/counter sinks.
Awesome video, thank you. I don't get access to this type of show so this is a real treat.
Great video. It’s so nice to get to see so many new products without having to go to a trade show. Thank you for making this video.
I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Can't wait to see a weekend warrior version of these interchangeable tools.
Loved that display of Fuller products. Very nice presentation.
thanks for putting us all there with you :)
When the Festool guy says “diameter of the orbit” and “sharpie” 😂 ❤
It’s cool to see all the new tech make its way into woodworking tools.
That hand held CNC is amazing. I can see that technology working for many different things.
fantastic! the video work is superb. it must have taken you days and days to edit
debbie has the best energy!
The Festool info was awesome. I never knew all that info on Festool.
Nice that you take the time to showcase high quality mostly American made cutting tooling (Bits, Cutters, Drills) which is where our materials actually come in contact and are machined by the power tools. High quality tooling is where to spend to achieve results! Thanks for paying attention to this segment of woodworking.
Your original video of talking to Harvey is why I bought my Harvey A-615 bandsaw. I didn’t get all the electronics, but the base model is *very nice*.

Waiting for these systems to be applied to band saws, jointer, planers and, shapers which can and will eliminate serious injuries in woodworking shops from stationary cutting machines.
This WILL scare sawstop!! This technology is the way forward. No smashing cartridges, no extra expense for false activations. I hope this makes it into the consumer markets world wide.
Hey Matt, are you able to do a video about Rockler router jigs and what jigs, especially the juice groove jig, work with what routers? Would really appreciate it. Thanks for the helpful tips and motivation to start my own woodworking side job, and for helping me make sawdust!
I love my Surfprep!!!
Looks just like a 3M sander and has the same features 😊
14:23 very cool technology, hobbyist woodworkers or low volume shops could benefit from this kind of safety feature.
Thank you for making this video ... thank you !
The new Harvey bandsaw is insane! I’ve got the previous model and I love it.
You've become quite the salesman!
thank you
Wow...this stuff is scary good!
Thank you very much for your great coverage ❤
Thanks for everything you do!
Awesome video. I know the timestamps are in the description but I would appreciate having regular chapters on the video 🤞
This is awesome info.
... i had this playing in the "background" during shoptime... let's say I didn’t get much done.
like that sawfence though for hobby use its a little too pricey , wat i would like to see is a sawfence system thats still universal like this one (cannot find an universal sawfence that works off a single rail instead of two t tracks for a good price period) but handoperated with a jogwheel runnig of a toothed belt or a rack with a large display on the handle acting off a magnetic tape and readhead (basicly a fence with a one channel dro setup for a saw ) you can still zerro it out against the saw and even adjust it using dro functions to say take off 18mm to account for a piece of plywood to be butted on vertically or set up multiple repeatig sized under speed dail (move it to zero and youre on size )
this setup takes away the stepper motor the drive rollers and controller so it should be cheaper to manufacture , but will be verry usable usable for people that need to bend over to the fence and a magnifying glass to read the measurement on the fence and still miss by one mm
eeeehr like the big eye
Your wife is brave I don't think I would put my hand in to that blade even that its not a blade and watch him do it a hundred times
Digital fence sure nice but how durable some things are meant to be manually. I have a one car garage shop would love to have the space and money.
Talking about tools that will change woodworking, what's the latest on the CPSC requiring all saws to use sawstop technology?
I checked a couple weeks ago and there has been no more movement
@@731Woodworks Thanks. I keep hoping for some competition to Sawstop to bring prices down, but it's not looking great.
Great video thank you
Thanks for watching!
Great video!! Thanks
You both have been busy, wonderful to meet you both at my Woodcraft in Portsmouth NH last week.
Great to meet you too! Thank you for taking the time to come and visit!
Amazing tools from America
👍
From America ? Or do you mean Germany, China and Taiwan ?
This is one of those “when I win the lottery” and need ideas videos…. Loved it.
I love my bow fence
harvey makes the stuff of dreams
Damn I wish I had more money!
the auto fence thingee... should still have marks... for double checking...
Cool accessory fence and the weirdest hair I've ever seen! I don't think SawStop has anything to worry about at the price they ask for that saw.
Is the Altendorfer hand detection technology the same as that on the Felder saws? Did they share the development? Or are these separate systems, different technologies?
Different systems. I doubt that Altendorf would share their technology with the likes of Felder.

nice sander
so how much is the Altendorf?
I would’ve really liked to have seen the tablesaw with the cameras how quickly the blade went down if your hand was right next to it and you slid it over because every test they did it got full warning being in line with the blade from far away
Man I want to go to this one show because I was thinking that you would be their Matt.
That's an awesome fence but I'm gonna have to hold off on the $1700 for now
@731Woodworks have you encountered anyone doing after market fences for contractor style table saws? Not like the bow extender fence that still connects to the existing fence, but a full replacement? I have not been able to find one for my rigid job site saw and the fence on it is TERRIBLE

@@731Woodworks hmmm, I wonder how hard it would be to engineer one and open up that market…
Stuff looks amazing but the price points are not for the average Diyer

@@brianboot8623 Me too!!! Hopefully they've experienced their last "delay" in production startup.
That rip it fence great idea but $1,700…god damn my table saw was $700?
I think I had 2 -3 ads for each tool you showed. Is that something you do or is that TH-cam that does this?
I have monetization turned on for all videos but YT auto places the ads where they see fit
Electronic rip fence....solution looking for a problem.

what show are you at?
this is a compilation of several. IWF in Atlanta, Workbench Con in Atlanta, AWFS in Las Vegas, and Woodcraft Trade Show in Kansas City.
Ok but what about those SS stock guides in the Jessem section? Where’s the details on those?
we didn't cover those with them at the show.
That $10,000 table saw is not scaring sawstop
try $75k
This is what sawstop should have done though!!! But instead they wanted to fleece people with the cost of unnecessary cartridge replacements despite the fact the technology is there today to have designed it without having to break anything during an activation.
I really hope this catches on and filters down to the consumer market. Sawstop will not last indefinitely with the cartridge replacement technology, any logical person can see it's a deliberate rip off and I would never buy a sawstop purely because of this approach.
You sure Gearheart wasn’t Elvis? 🤔

Yes, nothing 'scares Sawstop' like a saw that costs almost $10,000. *eyeroll*
It's about 70 -80k$!!! We have one in our shop in Switzerland...
Festool non existent dust extraction 😬
I’ve always thought that SawStop’s design was flawed because there is no need for destroying the blade when all that is necessary is retracting the blade.
JESSEM... Why does it cost more for a Canadian to buy your products within Canada than it retails for in the USA?!!! 😑
@darkwood777 it is a Canadian brand, and I would expect to pay less or equal to what it can be bought for in the USA.
Trudeau
Love all the tools, but at what age do you say, Ya no mas? (No more). I'm 75 and I have to tell myself no more.
Hmmm. Well Mr surfprep I wonder if someone just came by with those button eyes to try and throw off your possible customers
Hahaha this saw is 20x the price of a saw stop. They arent even close to share clients
Lol that saw is " price on request" saw stop ain't afraid of this mostly likely 15k plus machine 😂
well over $50k 🤣
This saw was introduced at IWF ‘22 and price then was just under $65k. Nice saw!
Too much begging for sub, really takes away from what is a great video
Is the Donald Trump hairstyle a thing now?
Im sure Sawstop is very scared.😂😂😂😂. More BS titles to get people to click. This channel is very good at it too.
Thank you
Almost 3hrs?.......NOPE
