@@KhalilACG yeah you can depict Cleopatra as a black woman even though historical records shows she's not. You can depict a Nordic person as a black man even though there is no register of so. Nothing happened with the corporations in those cases, but just think about putting someone with a skin somewhat lighter to represent a black person and see what happens. Historical figures are not safe from race swapping. Also, wtf is "you people" do you really think I defend any of this racist bs? What I'm talking about is the double standard that exists in society.
It shouldnt matter however to the people that it matters to, they complain and get upset. Then the other people have to defend, which in turn makes more people upset. my random PFP aside of me with a Strawhat, it really doesn't matter to me, artwork, VA, or cosplay. fans will do as they please, and this artwork itself does not make it racist (only the comments tied to the photo if any.) Many forms of art have been copied throughout history. hell, some have even seen Dandadan copy dances by African Americans (Rihanna during the opening) but I hope they leave the artist alone. that artist won't be the first or last artist to copy art in her own image. now the VA's comments were kinda extreme. i personally loved Robert Downy in Tropical Thunder for example. but all this to say... it really doesn't matter and this is the 1 time i hope Teccy is just talking on a topic to talk, because i don't agree with these takes he made against the artist.
As a POC myself, I’ve never understood why people need the characters skin color to match their own in order to relate to that character and why so many people in America are so fixated on skin color. I just see people with human struggles, and those struggles are what make them feel relatable.
6:11 for many years, incidences like this have occurred. A Japanese artist would make fanart, and then they would get called racist for making the character “light skinned” or “not dark enough” many Japanese artists would leave Twitter because of this.
I don't care about the art, I care about the double standard. All these people keep saying "it's just art, it's just fiction, it doesn't matter" watch how fast their head spins if Ryan Rynolds got casted for Blade, or Ryan Gosling played black Panther or better yet let's get Tom Holland to play Static Shock lol Watch how pissed they would be.
There are two levels to this, and for some reason it's incredibly hard for white people to understand. My guess is because things like this force you to look at the world in shades of gray instead of black and white, like an adult. On the base level, all race swapping is ok, as long as the character doesn't need to be said race for their character to make sense (which is why even rational white people face palm when you all use Black Panther as an example). On the second level, *in America specifically*, characters were *self-admittedly* not made black for a very long time. This has resulted in a giant disparity between the amount of white characters and the amount of minority characters in american media. Therefore the concept of ratios, as well as *historical context* (I know that's a "no-no" phrase for you all, alongside words like "nuance") to any rational, well-adjusted person of any race, dictates that yes, there is a difference between making the 10,000th black character white, and making the 10,000,000th white character , black. Hope that helps.

The 16 year old still didn't deserve all the hate tho all they said on the post was "I ended up doing them :3" They didn't say anything like "Fixed" so people including the kid in this whole double standard thing are just venting their frustration on an innocent kid who is not hurting anyone. 3:23 what the kid did wasn't some dumb shit If the kid were to say fixed or something of the sort then some hate would be warranted. 3:37 I do agree with the fact that kids shouldn't be on social media tho.
What is it with saying kids shouldn't be on social media, I'm tired of people saying that about out-liers. I've been using the internet for so long and most people I know my age are chill. It's acting like suddenly people who cry or do cringe things will just stop once they turn 18 or that t5eens don't have their own reasons and spaces on social media. What is that gonna fix? I was 11-12 and just made a new account saying I was 18 to use TH-cam without being connected to my mom's account, under 12 is one thing but under 18 is just stupidly unnecessaary, so I at 17 should still wait weeks to turn 18 just to use social media like it's some special thing with strictly adult topics that teens can't understand or talk to each other about
The only problem with this is that I’ve never seen a race swap to a white person in an innocent manner. It’s always in response to characters being race swapped into any darker skin
@SealSenpai That’s a societal issue and so is cancel culture as a whole. If you race swap a character to look like your race to self insert, that’s not a problem to me cause it’s your life and I could care less what you draw to make you feel better. But if you race swapped Mulan black and said “fixed” that’s just a blatant insult. If you want to make a black character that has no cultural significance white just to self insert and not to counter this point, then by all means. Otherwise it’s just racist on purpose
I agree. Washing is definitely a problem, but the reason it is problematic is that who does it has ill intent most of the time. Saying you made a character better by changing its race is washing and obviously racist. Drawing a character with a different race in itself is not racist, doing it because a certain race is better is. The real issue is that America has a race problem, really. The whole world does, but America goes overboard. For example, there was an ad about perfumes or clothes I think, which said white is purity. People outside America, like Europeans, thought nothing weird about it because white is used for purity, it represents the light and its what divine entities in mythology often wear. While the color Black represents the Shadows, and its what villains wear, which makes them look cool. Americans did not think of white and black as colours though, they thought of it as races and as if the ad was saying that white people are better. Even assuming it was about a race actually, the fact some people can't see white and black as simple colours is mind blowing to me.
Well yeah obviously in America you can't see black and white as colours when it's where black and white and brown became coined as people and not just colours, hell people are still called poc so why would people not assume it's about race
@Althedemonking1076 I get what you're saying, but i would say that context matters, i don't think Americans forgot black and white are colors before being people. Also, one thing that doesn't make sense to me yet is why calling people Black or White is fine, but calling people Yellow is racist (as far as i know). It's all based on skin (which isn't even true most of the time since Asians aren't Yellow and most Black People i have seen are Dark Brown).
@JeremyWinston-f4h Yes it doesn't make sense but it exists still, I'm not saying it's right but we can't just act like it doesn't or didn't exist for racist reasons so if let's say a Japanese company does that or an African company it's gonna feel.beeu different than if an American company did that especially of coincidentally all their actors are Caucasian even if not done on purpose because of the historical context surrounding the situation, basically that ad doesn't exist in a vacuum so it has to take account of its surroundings
@Althedemonking1076 Btw, this is just a random interesting thing: many people (outside America) use people of color as a way to be respectful because they think "Black" is offensive since it's judging them by skin color, the same way they dont consider themselves white. I've seen many Italians and some romanians think so, and when i was younger i called them that as well. The reason is that there is no proper term on how to address someone without mentioning their skin color, so saying they have a different color than mine was the easiest way to explain who i was talking about when i didn't know their name, hence "person of color". The reason i don't call them that anymore is because i learned that it's apparently offensive.
@JeremyWinston-f4h Yes I'm not American and just because we're the same colour doesn't mean much since we're still separated by entire continents so maybe when systemic racism is finally fully gone, African Americans would just be called Americans since it's not like we say European Americans for cacausians since their ancestors also came from a different continent
This will only end when people stop accepting hand-me down characters. This is why there’s a black Ariel, a black Captain America; why are black people accepting the change of white characters for legitimacy? You deserve your own characters and stories, stop taking the hand-me downs and create your own
Im surprised it took me scrolling for this long to find this psuedo-ally fallacy. We don't live in an either-or fallacy my guy. It's not a choice of changing white characters (who don't have a character reason to be white (unlike the face palm a lot of you all use, Black Panther), vs. creating new black characters and stories. We can, *and have been*, doing both. The self-own is that you didn't know this. Proving 1. You don't actually care, and 2. the need for the former to continue.
@@KhalilACGI think it could also be possible for a location and thus a race change for black panther and his society. But it would need to be done more carefully compared to standalone characters like Captain America, because you are also relocating his entire society and culture. For example, in the depth remote mountains of China, there lives a hidden tribe of asians who possess and master a great material/ore which they use for every aspect of their mysterious technology. They stay hidden from the outside world, fearing the possibility of exploitation, and for now, continue to live and practice their culture untainted from the outside world. It definitely requires more work than just race changing ariel or captain america, whose stories are more easily changed, but I think it is also possible to respectfully change black panther’s race and culture, what do you think? This topic is pretty complex so if I missed something I would like to be pointed out thanks.
@@brennandk I think that if you change that much of the character, then it’s no longer the character lol. That’s Batman.
"its harmless, its just art, its not affecting anyone in reality" until they see a slightly tanned Xinyan or Kaeya, or Brazilian miku and call the artist racist and harass them and tell them they are being offensive and disrespectful the hypocrisy of blackwashing defenders is absurd you probably will be hearing people cheering on the next brown snowwhite movie next year soon and tell you skincolor doesn't matter
I agree that it's messed up but at the same time if someone were to make a straight character gay or do gay stuff online certain sites I wouldn't be losing my mind over it cause I know the character is straight and it doesn't affect the OG. It's not the same thing but I hope you see my point
It's less about if it's actually racist or whatever. But if you scream from top of the buildings that one thing is bad then when the reverse is done you defend and cheer it on, that is a double standard no one ahould stand for. As eggy said. Either None of it is ok or all of it is.
Hm ok I see so they're mad about double standards. Me personally I believe that no side should be doing this. It's all weird and very disrespectful to imply that a character would look better if they were this race and not the other
i feel like cosplaying is different ,rather than drawing them as a different race for the sake of it, most black people cosplaying a white person dont go saying that they look better than the original because theyre black and that any white person cosplaying a black person is like a racist bigot or smth
As a cosplayer, cosplaying is different. It's a hobby. You're not going to paint yourself white to cosplay a white character, that's just not how it works. You're doing it for funsies, you're wearing a character, the character isn't wearing you. But for art I don't understand why westerns keep making asian characters black. As an asian myself I've always seen it as odd.
@@tomakira I think westerns do these "Black edits" as to see an alternative and not as this character would look good black because for the most part its just art and the other side is that people really like really like their identity and they want to see that. For example I'm Mexican-American it's who I am and I really like my culture and I really like watching anime but in some anime shows their all Japanese character but in some occasion they sprinkle some diversity and we take what we can get like in Bleach Chad is Mexican-Japanese which is cool for Latino community and for me I would love to see more Latino in anime since I can say that a lot of people around the glob really like anime either for the character, the setting/plot, I would just like to see more Latino but it might not happen since it's up to manga author if they want to add diverse or not, But that is why I like seeing latino version of anime character cause it's cool for me to see and its just an alternative of a character like , people look art differently, some people might not like it and others will and I feel that people are trying to paint a picture that people are doing "race swapping" to disrespect Japanese culture but that not the what they are doing I argue that making NSFW art of anime characters and making money is really disrespect in how Japanese twitter would say that the black edit of Okarun and Momo is to them. We just like the character, we like the anime, we just want to see it in an alternative and that's art. Side note there is a game called Guilty Gear that took this in a good way of changing race is with their color pallet like in the game you can have a white character having a black pallet and same with a dark skin character having a white skin pallet, its to what the player wants it to be and that okay and cool that you can have a choice on what you want to see and that's how I see this, that artist want to see anime character in an alternative way of looking either you want them to look Mexican or look Black with black hair and black feature, they're not doing it to make them better, it just for fun. Another side note I see Japanese people wearing the Mexican-American/Chicano style, as an Mexican-American myself I don't see as odd I really like it, seeing Japanese people wearing and liking Mexican-American culture even tho they are not Mexican themselves I don't see it as an issue, just like in this situation of making art of anime character
Bro I'm more toward the center left leaning and all the bs thats the hard left is trying to project to everyone in games and anime of all places is beyond annoying.
To be fair both sides are crazy annoying, and they are realising people hate both of them so they have to call them grifter or fence sitter just to place them in a "your either with them or against them"
Tbh it kinda sounds like you're just particularly upset because you're a fence sitter yourself. Im not exactly sure how you can "both sides" people raging at a fan drawing. And for arguments sake, let's just say you could. Why is it never a problem when drawings or cosplayers or what have you, are made white? Or when white ones are made asian? Why is the problem only when both are made black?
@KhalilACG also the argument part i totally missed. Ummm yes there is which like the whole reason the drama started, which is why now 1 side spamming it going "fixed" with said art. @@GameHunterDeathhunter Well no, cultural appropriation isnt just a giant umbrella you can unilaterally assign things to in the name of a hypocrisy gotcha simply because you don't understand the nuances of the arguments at hand. On top of that, I personally would take this issue WAY more seriously if the majority of people who had issues with it were actually Japanese and not just white weebs who have no internal consistencies to their arguments and do this every single time a minority is involved in anything they're not a majority of.
I just wish everyone could just shut up and get along. The world would be such a fun place if we just could set aside our differences and work together without causing an unnecessary issue with one another. Better yet, I wish everyone had the same skin color so we could see what the next dumb discriminator is.
At the end of the day, it’s “fan” art. People shouldn’t have gotten this heated over this. The artist never even said “I fixed the art” or “They look better now” Edit: I did some research and I see why the Jp community is upset. (Hypocrisy and Double standards) The “retracing” then “skin editing” isn’t putting effort in making art at all. The artist should’ve stated that they traced the artwork. But I will say that if you were to actually make fanart of something (Other than tracing over original artwork and marketing over it) you should be able to freely make it as you see fit, whether Black or White or Pink, As long as you don’t add entitled terms or reasons based on it (Like “fixed it” or “It looks way better now”) because that is fan-made art
I don't have a problem with the race bending its the tracing that I hate it's not ART! There taking from original work and drawing over it it's just laziness. Just draw from scratch its that simple.
A lot of people still trace art from the original designs and keeps the appearance as it is. I’m guessing this artist wanted to trace a particular scene from the show to make it accurate and then do the edit. But this same artist had done original artworks of their own design previously as well
Thanks teccy for saying it out loud, it's really insane how so many people are okay with this kind of stuff. Hate is strong word but, I really hate this situation, they're so self centered, thinking every people should respect them while they're the one who's being disrespectful,

You're missing the point! The logic is that the intentions behind the artwork speaks for itself. Going out of your way to change the race of a character is like you saying that race is better or that you "fixed" it.

@@KhalilACG "generally ok with one" not all "whitewashing" is done on porpoise. Not to mention the fan drawing in question is a trace over of a scene in the anime of which the race is swapped on porpoise. Also it's a 1 to 1 of a scene in the anime which they're being paid to do but change a few things and claim the entire thing as new. but that's an entirely different can of worms. That would be fine if that was also accepted by other people, if someone takes a black character and makes them white, would others say its just a fictional character? I dont think so
I fall on the other side of the fence in this one cheif. I genuinely think its is all okay when it comes to art. Race swapping between ANY races in an artpiece is such a non-issue i cant be fucked to be angry about a drawing.
I 100% agree with you. The kid didn't even say anything to warrant the hate anyway so idk why tectone and others are trying to involve the art into the whole double standard drama. Maybe just maybe if people didn't feel the need to change the race of a character because they "look good" as a different race, wouldn't have this particular issue.

I don't normally have an issue with race or gender swaps in characters if they're done well in a multicultural society/environment. If you take a character from ancient China and make them idk, white or Arabic who cares. No matter how good they act it doesn't fucking work. But if they made a new matrix movie and Michael B. Jordan was playing Neo, I bet they could make a good ass movie like that and shit would be dope. There's probably a world where you could have Liam Neeson play Morpheus and it would work too. The problem is only one of those two realities is seen as "socially acceptable". Either they're both okay or they're both not.
Not surprised that Lynette’s and Feixiao’s VA supports this given she posted a pic of the latter on her twitter with dark skin. Also, anyone who says that white people shouldn’t voice black characters, I say two words, Mike Henry
The people who think "blackenesing" these Japanese characters probably would say the caricatures of black people in 1800-1900s in the US was just fine.
If Black people want Black Characters, all they need to do is go to school, pursue Bachelor of Fine Arts and do animation then create a Original Black Characters so they don't need to race swap already existing characters...
What I find funny is that for some reason, they'd rather celebrate and fight for race-swapped characters more than original black characters in media. It's so pathetic that they can't even see their own hypocrisy.
I think race swapping is horrible on whatever side cuz all it does is tell you that your race wasn't important enough for these people to sit down and think of a character with a good story or that the character wouldn't be popular enough if they didn't have a pre-established history. That's how I felt watching Batman Caped Crusader. What was the point of making half the cast Black? I love Jim Gordon it had nothing to do with his race he's personally my favorite character in the Batman Mythos only second to Alfred. Making them black didn't add anything. In fact, it subtracted because then the creators tried to make them the main focus instead of Batman, who the show's named after. Race swapping rarely ever brings anything positive, and all of this can be applied to gender swaps as well. I absolutely hate those.
As far as casting an actor, cast literally whoever. When it comes to animated characters or the like, I think there shouldn't be swapping in general unless you completely rebuild the character to fit either culture. Like, if you swap Miguel from across the spider verse to a white person, then rebuild him entirely like Brazilian Miku. And that's if you really feel the need to, otherwise I just say don't fuckin touch it and leave it as is.
I remember when remi malek played the pharaoh in night at the museum alot of people raged that a white guy was playing an Egyptian (the idiots didn't know he was Egyptian 😂💀)

my random PFP aside of me with a Strawhat, it really doesn't matter to me, artwork, VA, or cosplay. fans will do as they please, and this artwork itself does not make it racist (only the comments tied to the photo if any.) Many forms of art have been copied throughout history. hell, some have even seen Dandadan copy dances by African Americans (Rihanna during the opening) but I hope they leave the artist alone. that artist won't be the first or last artist to copy art in her own image. now the VA's comments were kinda extreme. i personally loved Robert Downy in Tropical Thunder for example. but all this to say... it really doesn't matter and this is the 1 time i hope Teccy is just talking on a topic to talk, because i don't agree with these takes he made against the artist.
As a POC myself, I’ve never understood why people need the characters skin color to match their own in order to relate to that character and why so many people in America are so fixated on skin color. I just see people with human struggles, and those struggles are what make them feel relatable.
Absolutely I‘ve related to characters millions of times paler than me 😂 I don’t even think about the race!
To relate to a character PURELY on skin color(appearance), is the most superficial, surface level and detached relatability ever
As an American of Asian descent, stop calling yourself a POC if you want people to stop fixating on skin color.

Because they're not petty as fk like this black people

But if you race swapped Mulan black and said “fixed” that’s just a blatant insult. If you want to make a black character that has no cultural significance white just to self insert and not to counter this point, then by all means. Otherwise it’s just racist on purpose

@@squanchyjr2248 100% agree

@@tomakira I think westerns do these "Black edits" as to see an alternative and not as this character would look good black because for the most part its just art and the other side is that people really like really like their identity and they want to see that.

A lot of people still trace art from the original designs and keeps the appearance as it is. I’m guessing this artist wanted to trace a particular scene from the show to make it accurate and then do the edit. But this same artist had done original artworks of their own design previously as well

Case in point acheron's VA? Did i miss that arc? What happened
I think it is to do with Allegra Clark being attacked by fans for voicing acheron because the fans wanted Anne Yatco (Raiden Shoguns ENG VA) to voice her, cuz idk the characters look similar.
It was during the time Robin was out and Baldy made some comments on the loonies that were going around saying she's Lebo coded because of the dots under her eye or smth. People got mad but they couldn't get to him as he doubled and tripple downed on it. So they did what they always do, go after the VAs. They went after firefly va for making some positive posts on Tectone months ago on his reaction to FF death in 2.0.
She then came out and apologized to Twitter loonies for watching Tectone. And Acheron va also talked sht about Tectone and somehow blamed him for FF va getting hate, called him an ist and phobe just to cater to the Twitter mob. And convinced every other va in that circle not to interact with him.
Tecless play HSR in JP ever since if you haven't noticed.

As an artist, idc if youre a child, if you take my art of a black or white character I made and "fix" it, I'm sorry but Imma tell you off
I mean ive seen this fallacy a couple times now. Being as though the artist never said nor implied they fixed said art,...what exactly does your comment have to do with this video? Or is it just fragility?
@@KhalilACG Tell me you're not an artist without telling me. Do you know how it feels for someone to take the art you made with passion and love and then have some idiot take it and color fill it, repost is and call themselves an artist and that they fixed your work? Its beyond disrespectful, how do you not understand that?
@ "I just hate when someone fixes my art"
""They...didnt say they fixed it. They didnt even imply they did""
"You just dont understand bro! You dont know what it’s like to have someone change your art and say they fixed it!!"
😐
No, I don't know what it means for someone to change your drawing and say they fixed it. I am however black, so I DO know what it feels like for someone to use strawmen to justify an overreaction in the name of racism, but under the guise of integrity.
Being black ALSO makes me pretty familiar with irony. Such as the irony of you making this argument rn, when the only two people in that video who DID say anything about fixing something, were Tectone who was speaking hypothetically, and someone he pulled up, who made Miriko white...
Funny that, huh?
@@KhalilACG Bruh you're acting like you have buffs that I dont because you're 'X' race.
Stop embarrassing yourself, and you're race doesn't matter, it doesn't make you better than me. If you have no clue what it feels like to have your art stolen and overwritten, you have no reason to be talking to me about this. Your take isn't applicable because you have no clue what's falling out of your mouth. Lets say you have a car, a nice car and someone comes up to it, and spray paints all over it and gives it a terrible paint job, then STEALS it and says they bought that car and its theirs. How would that make you feel? But then again you seem like one of those people who doesn't like seeing things from other people's view because they are not exactly like you.
Have a nice day, PS say hi to your dad for me :)
@@KhalilACG bro you completely ignored that person's point
I'm an artist too, and what they're saying is that, even if they don't plaster "I fixed it" label on top of the edited art, they still stole and race washed it. You're just ignoring that person's argument and pushing your own.
The artist that swapped the Dandandan characters never claimed they fixed anything though.
They don't have to say it lmao!
@doublestarships646 by that logic every single piece of fan art is a 'fixed' version then.
@@MastaDivinityif you can’t see the issue in this by now, you really are a different breed of slow
You're missing the point! The logic is that the intentions behind the artwork speaks for itself. Going out of your way to change the race of a character is like you saying that race is better or that you "fixed" it.
that artist just enables racism by catering to those sick fantasies of blackwashing
guys you dont understand what rice taste like becouse you are not asian
It’s funny the VA says all Black people know what a comb going through their hair feels like.
When bald people exist. Lol
Is this supposed to be written ironically, or are you genuinely biased enough to not know generalization when it's used in something you don't agree with?

wokies are a meme in this world
Idk why people hate re-imagining characters lol, it's fun and creative
I’m surprised the VA that actively cause drama aren’t being fired and blacklisted.
the only counter example you need for this is nessa from pokemon. the FAN ART didnt even make her white, just light skin and the woke community acted just as bad
Racism over a Fanart is so crazy 😂
The community who claims can't be racist unironically being racist when a character is 0.5% lighter skinned 😔
One day this dumb shii will end and people will be ok with both. The color of the pixels shouldn't be that deep
being on the end of real racism....as in being called the n word....this shits funny as hell....people are mentally ill
@@Hekio..o Well people are already generally ok with one. You're just too biased to recognize how few people have a problem with a character being drawn barely noticeably (if that's actually the case, and not yet another form of bias) darker, vs. entire communities raging because of a fan drawing.
@@KhalilACG "generally ok with one" not all "whitewashing" is done on porpoise. Like when taking lighting into consideration the skin is going to look lighter than usual (along with other aspects of a drawing because that's how light works). Yet could get you attacked by mobs on twitter. Mind you this is also fanart but still gets artists cancelled and/or bullied into deleting their account. This is the "one" that people aren't ok with.
Not to mention the fan drawing in question is a trace over of a scene in the anime of which the race is swapped on porpoise. Also it's a 1 to 1 of a scene in the anime which they're being paid to do but change a few things and claim the entire thing as new. but that's an entirely different can of worms. Imo people should be allowed to do either of them without fear of being bullied off of a platform because in the end of the day it's just fanart
@@Hekio..o "Yet could get you attacked by mobs on twitter. "
Anything can you get you attacked by mobs on twitter, is my point. Im not saying its happening in one instance and not the other. Im saying you're speaking as if they happen in both situations proportionately, when they don't. You will never see a video about a character being barely made lighter, get 10,000 views and 300 comments in the first 4 hours like this one has for example.
18:29 This analogy actually goes hard af lmaooo
Well 1. Its not an analogy. 2. I hope "go hard" in this instance is completley divorced from accuracy. Cause you have to have the bias of a child to live in America for the past decade and feel like the left jumped to the other side of the room but the right stayed the same lmao
idk. last time i checked same mfs who were defending "its a drawing" about features of anime females are now arguing about tone of skin? sounds dumb

I'm waiting for someone to edited tectone's color, then post it Fix on his twit. Lol
Funny how this va's character and series is deeply rooted in Japanese culture, and by saying whites can't play blacks because of the culture he isn't just implying that there isn't a one for whites he also implying that Japanese culture isn't unique by playing this character!?

did the title change or am i tripping?
I fall on the other side of the fence in this one cheif. I genuinely think its is all okay when it comes to art. Race swapping between ANY races in an artpiece is such a non-issue i cant be fucked to be angry about a drawing.
I 100% agree with you. The kid didn't even say anything to warrant the hate anyway so idk why tectone and others are trying to involve the art into the whole double standard drama. People are just wanting to vent their frustration of the double standard drama on someone and sadly they choose to do it to the kid.

The post got community noted because they traced over a frame from an anime to make the blackwashed art. The note mentions that editing and selling screenshots of anime violates Japanese copyright law. They really tried to argue that it was ok by saying it was just an anime screen shot, as if they aren't stealing art.

It's funny how every time someone swaps a male character's race they always drew them with dreadlocks or afro, the most stereotypical black hairstyles.

its crazy how big this got from fanart lol there are literal historic movies with race swapping and no one cared. fan art is not race washing because if that's the case the cosplaying is the same thing
The black started it, they retaliated and now they're the bad ones? Stupid fks
Ain't no way u trying say cosplay is race washing. If people didn't push white washing as a thing no one would care

@TheNrat ye why would they, theres literally little to no black main characters in anime lmao, who would wanna cosplay a side character or a bg character
This ain’t fanart. It’s a traced low effort edit from a screenshot of the official anime. It’s worse that they are trying to profit off of it too 😂
Based video as always
It will never surprise me how english voice actors just keep digging the worst holes for themselves. You would think people celebrating AI voice acting as well as translators would be a wake up call.
Maybe just maybe if people didn't feel the need to change the race of a character because they "look good" as a different race, wouldn't have this particular issue.

Tectone showed appreciation for her, she was thankful, Twitter called Teccy a creep/PDF/drama baiter etc and she publicly denounced that "she was unaware of what he did" without actually looking into anything Tectone did.

Oh but its not a drawing when the opposite happens?
Wait can someone fill me in about Acheron’s VA, I thought Allegra was pretty chill
I'm starting to like that feixiao va lol, so teasing 😂. i hope hoyo doesn't fire her over that previous post of hers
They have been harassed on twitter by freaks for years there just memeing back I think your the racist...
It's coded in their culture already, they thought they're always the victim just because their ancestors are
Im surprised it took me scrolling for this long to find this psuedo-ally fallacy.
Preach brother!
Could we normalize calling them "Palette Swappers"?
Wait what happened with acheron's va? Did I miss something

I think it's one thing to do it in fanart, but a little more complicated when it comes to official projects
Wait, what happened to acheron's VA?
Oh tectone this has been a issue for years. If you go to any artist channel i swear at some point you will see them adressing this issue in a video. Its gross, its annoying, and your insulting the original artist. They do it to any artist and really think they ate. Ppl will even do this to personal ocs that represent the artist. I remeber one youtuber (JAR) covered a story where someone fixed the artists oc that was mixed and made them black, and the artist was indeed mixed. Its the audacity for me. If you want representation make your damn own
