@@ToolsAreToys I played all TR games without guide. The biggest enjoyment of it was to figure out your way forward like an adventure game. A guide would have made these games redundant for me.
Thanks for the walkthrough. I would never have figured the level without some help. Lots of "jump/slide towards nothing and hope for the best" and "press this button so something happens on the other side of the level"
After the amazing levels in India and South Pacific, London was such a let down. At least in the other levels you have some sense of what you're doing. London is just random exploring until you do something, then do another thing, then trying to see if there is a pattern to make sense of what are you doing or where you're going. Still my favourite Tomb Raider
I apparently skipped half the level by accident. Ran the path starting from 15:40. The fire that would be down there at 17:00 wont light Lara if you just drop to the side.
Yeh these old Tomb Raider games are full of exploits and glitches. That was half the fun of roaming around trying to find different ways to finish the level.
I skipped most of this level by accident. I was randomly jumping around the first area where you start and I crossed over the crane and left the level. Only after watching the walkthrough I realized I missed so much.
I remembered this level took me nearly two weeks until i beat it. With me only getting one secret. It baffle my mind when I see speedrun of this level that someone beat this level in nearly a few seconds. How? By close to impossible jump. I completely forgot how close the beginning of this level is to the end of this level as well. 😱 The amount of death this level alone I have accumulated is high number. Still a beautiful and challenging level.
I remember playing this level about 3 years ago and having a hard time with it. The way i beat the level was by skipping a part of the level by somehow jumping over the slide to the right where you start the level 🤣🤣🤣🤣. I'm playing it again on my Ps3 ( i don't have the remaster) and for the life of me i can not do that glitch again, i guess this video will help. 😁😁
lol i jumped at the hole in the ground at 24:55 at the bottom into the small water path and I got stuck because I thought you were meant to jump there, not fill the rest of the tank. lucky I had a previous save
Lol I just did this but had no previous save.. so I just started the level over and took the speedrun path. First time playing via the Remaster collection and this was the first time I had to look at a walkthrough just to find I was actually stuck.
Tomb raider 3 is the most confusing one. I swear only the devs knew how to complete the game. Anyone else would have to buy one of those guides. I much preferred 1 and 2 they weren't pointlessly confusing
mfw i played through this game when i was 7 years old, with no internet access, walkthroughs and memory cards... London levels were absolute hell for me though... I remember these being absolute horror to find my way through.
It definitely feels overwhelming, especially when I was playing this game as a kid back in the 90s. India, South Pacific and Nevada wasn't that confusing to be honest. Just endless. (ok maybe Security comb was a bit messy). But London is not done very well to be honest.
I got myself stuck in this level on the remastered version. In the room with the monkey bars, with the water drained, I made the impossible jump from the balcony into the water below... Successfully getting myself stuck. Good thing I had multiple saves 😂😂
I came to walkthrough for this exact reason. Completely missed the monkey bars and assumed it was that stupid jump into the tiny square of water and now I’m stuck. So I guess I need to skip the level or start again?
@@theessexredgot stuck in the water area as well thinking it was just a difficult route and not the complete wrong one lol. But any point in a level if you die you can start at the beginning of it if you scroll to the right on the game over screen

Same here. I'm on my Nintendo Switch and it seems the blades don't even slow down when you get near them like in the video. I've seen other TR3 remastered guides and the blades slow down for them as well. TR3 is terrible in any case.
@@gjk2012 I'm playing on the Switch too and yeah, London is so far my most hated section in this game. Doesn't help that everything is so dark and the flares last far shorter than in TR2.
Tomb Raider 3 in general was way too dark. This London level especially was really hard to navigate, back in 1998 I never got through the beginning of it.
Nothing about this game is intuitive. You just run around endlessly until you firgure it out. No idea how people did this without guides, I remember the old playstation magazines with game guides in. Wouldnt have done it without them as I didn't have thta kind of patience to figure it out the hard way
I refuse to go to the water compartment section. I just catch the 5 secrets without even bothering to pass through 2/3 of this level. Too tedious. In some sort of way, TR3 designers made it possible for us to go through some levels using different paths. Maybe it was a mistake for this level? Maybe not? The thing is, I enjoy "my" Thames Wharf walkthrough much better than the "proper/correct walkthrough"
@@Forge_595 Apparently the propeller won't kill you if you pull the level despite it still spinning. I had to look for this video because I was stuck on that part. Dumb level design indeed.
Yeah, I feel TR3 was thrown together. Some of the levels I like, but most of them are terrible. I feel Core Design just wanted to do 1 & 2 and be done with it.
@@thegildedagemadonnabe some are alright like the Nevada and South Pacific levels, while London levels are atrocious. It's like half the levels on this game are good and the other half is not. TR2 seems to have a more uniform level quality.
