A fantastic level, in terms of design & atmosphere, its puzzles, all the platforming challenges and secrets' locations. Definitely one of my favourite levels to play through.
Where does the time go? This brings back so many warm and lovely memories from late 1998 and 1999. I can actually remember drawing pictures of this level as an 8 year old. Things seemed way simpler back then and the UK was actually an optimistic and cosmopolitan place for a few years. Lovely memories of the '90s
@@w0rks No, they are LONG gone haha. It's a shame as I'd love to still have them but I guess when you're an 8 year old you don't really think about things like that. I'd give anything to go back to that time in 1998 for a couple of weeks.
Are you gonna buy the remastered trilogy? I'm quite excited for it. Especially cos you can switch between the original graphics and updated graphics, and between original controls and modern controls. Because that way it is good example of game preservation, while offering modern quality of life improvements for those who want that. I'll be playing with the original controls though certainly. Because the slow, deliberate controls are the point, it's essentially a cinematic platformer, just in 3D instead of 2D. It's no different from games like Prince of Persia or Abe's Oddysey. So modern controls would probably make it too easy. But I'll have a go with them, at least, even if I switch back to the original controls after. But yeah it's a bit silly but I got a PS5 a few months ago and I've just been playing games I owned decades ago like all the MGS games, and the Spyro games, and the Crash Bandicoot games etc. And now I'll be playing the Tomb Raider games again, which I also owned back then. But I still find them fun, so why not
Thank you! I didn't see 1st switch when entering the tunnel in the water. Also I'm glad I'm not the only one still playing Tomb Raider 3! It's my first time playing it since I was little, but I never even finished the 1st level back then :D
I remember playing this game with my friend. One day we had to end playing just when we arriwed this level. We couldn't wait the next opportunity we can play again. The next time we continued from here. It was a blast I never forget. Good old times...
There's absolutely nothing like the atmosphere of these games. I've never played any game before or since with the same vibes as the original tomb raiders. They're just fantastic in terms of atmosphere.
This brings me so many memories of when i was seventeen....and this particular level is one of my favorite Can't wait February 2024 to play this game again and again on PS5 😁
Same here. Got a ps5 a few months ago and I've mainly been just playing games I owned decades ago, and I'll be doing the same thing when I buy the remastered tomb raider trilogy lol. I should probably play some modern games at some point.
16:45, you don't have to go in the water, and get way back down. You can backtrace like the way you came and at the two waterfalls jump trough the left one to get to the detonator. Way faster. 😉 But really nice walktrough and very nostalgic. I remember use some written walktrough back in the 90's. 😊
Wondering if anyone else here had a hard time getting back on track after the second secret first time around… It took me ages to figure out at which angle to jump across the river near the waterfall.
I understand the new tomb raiders and the old ones are very different but honestly give shadow of the tomb raider a try. It's the best tomb raider they've made in ages.
Lots of love for this level here but so far I've HATED it! The save points are so far apart, I've just had to keep backtracking ten minutes of game play to get to where I'm up to, only to die again and again. Missed jumps, electrocution on the compound fence... absolute nightmare. I had to repeat the same area about 10 times.. finally I used this video to guide me. I couldn't risk exploring myself and then dying again, having to go back another ten minutes to try something different at this point again! Now I've made it to the high security compound. I'm too stressed to play any more for now
@@unidan82btw i happened to get a weird bug in Jungle too, at secret #4 with the lever/boulder trap. The boulder started to roll at the event point before I even pulled the switch. Now that boulder can be evaded but the switch did nothing at all and the gate at the bottom was still closed which made me restart the whole level.

the creators put a fucking waterfall in the nevada desert, because somehow we didn't get enough moisture from the pacific islands level, london with the rain, & india, and tr 3 is good but tr 2 is more legendary
It's beautiful and one of the best Tomb Raider games but if you play this one in PS1 it's very, very difficult to understand where you need to go... In my opinion Rise of the Tomb Raider is the best in series ...
The ps1 actually looks better. It does have some of that trademark ps1 distortion but the lighting is more detailed and vivid, ditto for the colors, and imo I tend to think pixelization up close looks better than blurry filtering. Pc version looks more flat and washed out.

Yeah, i remember demo in Nevada.
@@nneonwave Coastal Village, Antarctica and Jungle have very similar vibes imo, although this one is my favorite. Awesome level.

Same, I got stuck there too.
I miss this Lara so much. I always wanted to live in a Mansion like her.

Tomb Raider 2 and Tomb Raider 3 are my favorite out of the entire franchise
I just love this level.
Those jets scared the fuck out of me when I was little

You're so good at this game. Lots of play time and practice here bigtime. Hats off to you for such great gaming!!!
thank you for this! I was having trouble finding that hidden lever
love tomb raider 3...really not keen on the new ones..
Same here they turned Lara into a weakling and changed her looks too much
Finally, people with good taste!
The old ones were the best.
It’s a big shame the franchise was dumbed down.

I love how all of the enemies in most levels of this game is the wildlife 😂❤
This was very helpful! I couldn't figure out how to get over that electric gate towards the end
great level nice climbing
I used to try and shoot that plane down at the start of the level. Could never do it though 😂

The most beautiful level of the game, and one of the most beautiful levels of the PS1 in general.

very incredible level baby
2:37 breathtaking seeking that fighter jet takeoff! Is that a McDonnell Douglas F/A-18?

I feel like Aspyr could have explained the Controls a little better in the tomb raider remaster because I did not know how to side jump
Playing the remaster.., the lever at 13:50 doesn’t work 😡😡😡😡
just looked for this video to find out someone have the same issue 😂
