You know Luke, I have been an actor for many years, and when I listen to Lizabeth Scott, I learn so much, she is a consumate actress with so much to give. That voice too...Mmmmmm. Love her.XX
I can see what she means about seeing herself on the screen or in rushes. She is nothing like what she appeared on the screen as - even now I find her much more beautiful and intelligent in this interview than her films. She's delightful.
Jake Drew It's a shame that she didn't appear in any supporting roles later in her life- she would have been great as a mom or grandmom to someone like Naomi Watts, don't you think?
It would have been nice to have pursued her reasons for dropping out. I always heard that she just couldn't do it anymore - she was introverted, but a lot of actors are. In one of the parts she mentioned that she could afford to walk away from it all. I'm not sure where she made her money. She always reminded me of Garbo.
Jake Drew Well... she did return time and again for retrospectives, but she preferred to stay on the beach and enjoy her life... and unlike Garbo, she would answer any request for an autographed photo- she was very appreciative of her fans... :)
That's good to know. I had always thought of writing her because I really thought she was a lot more interesting on the screen than most of her contemporaries.
Well thanks! We're the interviewer and crew! :) We have many other interviews with screen legends on our channel- hope that you'll take a look and enjoy. Regards, Luke Sacher Carole Langer
Sadly, Ms. Scott passed away in 2015 at the age of 92. Thank heavens we have her films and wonderful interviews like this to remember her by. What an incredibly long life & marvelous career. And what seems like a very happy & comfortable retirement! She must have invested her earnings wisely. Bless her heart!
Actually, I shot this interview. And Carole was the interviewer. And we own this interview. And Miss Scott only consented to be interviewed if we shot her at Janet's home.
No, I don't think so Luke. Tell you what, she is just so different from the normal everyday beautiful actress we used to watch every week. She is lovely, intelligent and what sticks out, to me anyway, is that she is just so humble, and she listens to Carole when she is asking her a question, considers it, then answers. She doesn't appear to be shouting "Hey, I'm a star". Just ordinary. I would love to be at a dinner party where she was, I bet it would be so interesting Luke.
Understandable! How would you feel if all of a sudden your face were 20 feet high, and could see every flaw! :) Thanks for watching, and for your positive comment. Luke Sacher

It's that east coast dramatic background... and Hal Wallis was a very smart guy with a great eye for talent... :)
