GREAT job! The best instructional video I have ever watched…I didn’t have a good experience modifying my AK-917 roller with 1/8 CASTLE motor & ESC…everything went wrong…slow deliveries, bad communication, stripped screws, finding a motor mount…I finally managed to get it done, but it turned me off to RLAARLO. For better or for worse the new AK-787 captured my attention. I now have everything I need to get started on the dual motor upgrade. Your video gave me the courage to get going. Thank you & MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Well, I am back. As I previously mentioned I would, I had your video on the entire time I did the dual motor upgrade. It went much better than the AK-917 upgrade. I actually enjoyed this one…thank you! I still have to do some soldering for the ESC connectors & I am waiting for the F3670-2830 motors. Couldn’t have done it without you!
Awesome, I really appreciate it. A lot of work goes into making a video. The F3670-2830KV has been out for a while. I bought one when the 917 first came out. I still need to install it in something. The one I have doesn't have the flat spot on the shaft for the pinion grub screw. Hopefully, the new ones have it. Keep me posted on how you make out.
I was driving mine last night and discovered it had become RWD all of a sudden, it still handled well but I was worried, turns out it was just the grub screw on the axle shaft, tightened it and all good wooot
Awesome, you got lucky! You would think they would use lock tight 🙄. You almost have to completely go through everything you buy and check every screw. 👍👍👍
Very helpful vid. Are the motors ok for runnning sensorless? Btw i love your hobby room would be awesome to have a future video tour!
It's fine to run without. You just get a bit of cogging at takeoff. It's not good if you're drag racing since it will hurt your reaction time. Most speed run cars cog, that's why you usually see people push to get them going. I will do a tour in the future, hopefully soon.

Yeah the yellow wire is in channel 3 on the receiver but when I push the channel 3 button it does sweet F-all????
lol, I probably should have tried, before doing the dual motor conversion.
@@allscalerc The manual stats this.....Activate and deactivate the channel 3 Turbo Button for increasing or cancelling 30% accelerated speed,however,the top speed will not be increased when turbo function is on. 🤔
@jimiwith2eyes Sounds like they are probably just increasing the punch level when the Turbo button is activated.
Turbo is for take off gets 30 percent more boost,power, and doesn't have anything with top end speed.

I have this model with the factory carbon upgrades (all). My problem is trying to find a gyro that works. I've tried two, one overpriced one Rlaalo sells and HS-400. Neither of them work reliably and are glitchy beyond use especially for speed runs. So I'm at a dead end.
I don't have too much experience with gyros. I know that in speed run cars you should keep the correction low. Raz Shifrin uses gyros in his 200 mph speed run cars. No, only carbon 787 chassis comes predrilled for the dual mount, and it is flat.

Not stupid at all. Both motors have to rotate in the same direction.👍👍👍👍

@Rcjamaica876 I attached a link. I buy a bunch at a time since I do lots of projects. You can search for just one. Also, they take forever to get here. If you need them, quickly order from a different vendor. You have to undo the BEC wire from the second esc.
I am watching your video for the 3rd or 4th time. I have left a couple of comments…I guess you do not pay much attention to that stuff. In the event you take a look at this one, I hope to hear back.
1. Could you elaborate on how to get each of the 2 motors rotating correctly. It seems you switched the order of the wires to the ESC to reverse one of them…Am I correct? In the manual it specifies the wires to be connected in a specific order. I am concerned about burning out the ESC &/or motor. Which of the 3 are switched? A, B or C???
2. There are wires (red & black) with white connectors coming from each of the ESC’s. I assume they are each meant to be plugged into the motors. The RLAARLO motors I have, F3670-2830 KV, do not have a port to receive these connectors. What is to be done with them?
