You are a good teacher!! Your pronunciation is very pleasant to listen to as well. I enjoy your teachings. Thank you!

Thanks. You are the best resource on geothermal on TH-cam. i have 8 acres and i want to put a diy horizontal ground source system.
    Two questions
    1) Part of the property is on high ground (including the house) and part of 8 ft lower. Can i just put the loop at the bottom on the hill and bury it ?
2)is there a way to integrate air source heat pump ductless mini split with ground source?
    Thanks

At 13:26 you talk about the ground temp changing over time, is this not nullified by using the same system in reverse for cooling in the summer? Dumping heat into the ground in summer and pulling heat from the ground in the winter?

If the heating and cooling loads are perfectly balanced this would be true. However, in most locations they are unbalanced. If the cooling load is dominant then the ground will heat up over time. If the heating load is dominant the opposite will happen. Either way, the temperature change usually negatively impacts the operation of the heat pump.

If I replace my gas 30kw hydronic heating system to a Geo thermal heat pump do I need the same size unit?
