Yeah and castlevania legends.i probably wont buy unless they release a physical copy with the book would be cool. Bloodlines was cool. An update for control customization would be cool too.
That will probably get split into 2 collections. Circle of the Moon, Harmony of Despair and Aria of Sorrow in one pack, then Portrait of Ruin, Order of Eclessia and Dawn of Sorrow in another. There's no way Konami will give us all 6 games in a single pack.
My first videogame (Christmas 1990) was Castlevania. To this day that's the game that holds the dearest place in my heart and I am so excited to pick this collection up. My small complaint might've been the aspect ratio choices... the default ones for literally every game besides the GB ones aren't my recommended ones, I typically go for the 4:3 Scanlines. Other than that, awesome. I should mention that the game SAVES your ratios when you exit out of a game to go to another one, etc, unlike the Arcade classics collection.
1 thru 3, the b being whip and A jump is definatly something u gotta get used to but its bc the NES was whip B on leftand jump A on right. Obv they werent at a diagonal lineup and were horizontally next to one another, but they mimicked nes controls and those games didnt have built in custom sets so it stuck. Going from 4 or BL my opinion the best here, to 1 or 3 is tricky.

It feels weird to see literally see "Nintendo" on my PS4. The Disne y Afternoon Collection had all Nintendo references removed from the gallery but Castlevania has them all. Weird times. PS4 also has Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night.
I just bought this collection last night off the market place. So far it’s cool to play these old school games. Its pretty hard but still fun at the same time. Will play in order and beat each game over time.
I'm relatively sure that RGT85 is the lead singer from The Counting Crows. Obviously, he had to lose the dreads as they were no longer in style. Not sure why he turned to TH-cam when his music career seemed to be pretty solid. Oh yeah...Castlevania is awesome.

@P R - what’s it have to do with being a Nintendo fan? I’m a “Nintendo fan” and I’ve been playing these games for 25 years, mainly on Nintendo systems. Did you ever consider maybe this person is just young?
You should start with Symphony of the Night if possible. These ones are good but gameplay can be archiac at times. Symphony is way more modern friendly, and my personal favorite.
Owen Vail If you want a straightforward castlevania game that doesn’t have the outdated graphics, go for rondo of blood. Amazing game. Kinda hard for a new guy though.
I have picked up the switch version, gonna buy the ps4 version for video footage. I love cv and really want to start a gaming channel. Also props out to Belmont's revenge! Most underrated cv title.
I love that Konami added the JP versions of these Castlevania games. The Japanese version of Dracula’s Curse is the definitive way to play that game imo. It’s slightly less brutal on difficulty, Grant has a projectile weapon now, & the extra sound chip makes an already amazing soundtrack even better. My only complaint is I wish they had added a convenient rewind feature, like almost all classic game collections have these days.
There's also been crashing problems like on Castlevania 1, the game crashes on Stage 5 when there's too many enemies / objects on screen. That doesn't help the collection either but apart from that and the lack of control options, it's a pretty good collection of games.
I think they didn't put Symphony or Rondo Since those games have some re releases under their belt already Plus it would take a bit more effort to port or emulate rondo or symphony
I would get if it included Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night but as Always they want to just sell the older ones they believe no one would buy individually
I got this on Steam. I was able to get around the controller issues. Hyperkin (the people who brought you the Retron 5) has retro P.C. controllers called "Retro Power" controllers. I have an NES one. It's an exact replica of an NES controller but with a USB adapter on the end. Works perfectly on Steam and the buttons are the correct way. Much easier to play the NES and Gameboy games that way. I was trying this with an Xbox One controller and it's set up the exact same way as the Switch. It was driving me crazy. As for the product itself, me personally, if I had a say in it, I would have dropped Kid Dracula and Castlevania Adventure for the SNES Dracula X. Rondo is just bundled with Symphony (as it should be) now, but Dracula X is it's own game, so I find it odd they left that one out. Also for consumers Dracula X would be a good selling point as you can get get Kid Dracula and Castlevania Adventure for like $30 or less a piece. Dracula X is like between $200-$300. Having that on here alone would justify the purchase.
I am happy that this is a thing. Also, finally, Bloodlines is now re release on a system. Only console that was released, without resorting to emulators, was the Genesis/Megadrive.
The first level Song in Super Castlevania IV is also in Blood Lines for the Sega Genesis. It's track number 20, I think. I can't say which I like better.
I've had a couple of problems with mine. There's a weird little beep that the original Castlevania makes a bunch. Heard it the most in Medusa's levels, but I can live with it. Unfortunately, the game later FROZE WHILE I WAS FIGHTING DRACULA and I had to start over FROM THE BEGINNING. So now, even though I can play through the game in one sitting, I make sure to make save states anyway.
They already did a collection featuring Rondo of Blood and SotN. Twice. Once on the PSP (as bonuses included in Dracula X Chronicles) and then again on PS4 (as Castlevania Requiem)
I would love to see them do another Castlevania collection. From all the three DS and Gameboy Advance games. Those games were some of my favorite Castlevania is. Here's to hoping.
my beloved CASTLEVANIA so glad that it is on the PS4 just cannot believe another miracle such this have happened aside the Castlevania animated series and Simon belmont/ richter in Smash brother! happy that it has that awesome SAVE system as well
been super hyped for this collection since it was announced! sure I would've loved rondo and sotn to be on here but I'm happy with the included games... and the fact that we *are* getting the Japanese versions in later update has me excited... solely for the original version of Castlevania 3 with the improved music (which if you didn't notice, actually plays on the main menu!) the weird buttons thing was a little annoying but I'm used to it from nintendo switch online playing the NES stuff.
@@noretailforme Fair enough. I am kind of in between of this ridiculous Physical vs Digital thing. I buy physical games if they are $60 or big or whatever. If it is a collection of games or an indie game then I just buy it digitally. (I normally buy the indie game digitally first and then hunt down a physical version if I REALLY like it since they normally have cool stuff included with the game).
I hear ya, i hate buying digital copies because you technically don't own it. Unfortunately Konami has stated they will not be releasing it physically.
@@NJindypro I'm not too sure about the "Not owning" thing. It's not like when the game is taken off the Eshops digital shelves it like, has the game taken away from you. As long as you save it to the cloud or whatever, you should be fine. BUT if the game is taken off digital shelves, its over. You can no longer play the game. Scott Pilgrim vs the World is the most tragic example of this.
This looks cool. A physical release would be nice, but not a deal breaker. A second one with some of the GBA games or the Adventure remake on Wiiware would be awesome
That's why I'm hoping this sells very well. We definitely deserve rondo of blood, symphony of the night, CV chronicles and the three gba games (also hoping for the ds ports as well).
Good to see this was handled better than the butchered Arcade Classics Anniversary Collection, but there are still some baffling omissions. Like why didn't Konami include the Game Boy Color versions of The Adventure and Belmont's Revenge or at least have them as an extra color filter option? These versions were properly colored in and look much better than the original Game Boy versions with the included color filter. And where is original MSX version of Vampire Killer, it is after all a celebration of the origins of the series. It would've been a much more fitting inclusion than Kid Dracula and would've made it an instant buy for me.
Awesome collection, but I'm a bit spoiled from the Genesis and SNK collections so I'm missing the rewind function of those a little. Seeing how they handled this collection I hope my predictions for the 4 yet to be announced games for the Contra collection are correct. Man if you would have told me 1 year ago that I will buy 3 Konami releases in 2019 I would have called you delusional. I hope these collections sell so good that they make some more, Turtles and Goemon for example, I'd love that so much.

They already did a collection featuring Rondo of Blood and SotN. Twice. Once on the PSP (as bonuses included in Dracula X Chronicles) and then again on PS4 (as Castlevania Requiem)
Castlevania requiem says Hi
@@lannandogarcia4391 Oh yeah that's the name XD
NES Castlevania games in the Collection do work with Nintendo Switch NES controllers, with the buttons where you want them.
I wish they would have released it in physical form. That would have been awesome.
Hopefully we get the Requim pack on the switch too.
I wanted castlevania 64
4:24 Talks about the games... Isn't that what we wanted?! Great idea
I can live without Symphony of the Night, Super Castlevania 4 is my favorite, I never liked the RPG aspects that were thrown in later on.
I would love to see them do another Castlevania collection. From all the three DS and Gameboy Advance games. Those games were some of my favorite Castlevania is. Here's to hoping.
Castlevania Bloodlines was rated GA.
Go figure. lol
my beloved CASTLEVANIA
so glad that it is on the PS4
just cannot believe another miracle such this have happened aside the Castlevania animated series and Simon belmont/ richter in Smash brother!
happy that it has that awesome SAVE system as well
No RE:Birth no buy.
been super hyped for this collection since it was announced! sure I would've loved rondo and sotn to be on here but I'm happy with the included games... and the fact that we *are* getting the Japanese versions in later update has me excited... solely for the original version of Castlevania 3 with the improved music (which if you didn't notice, actually plays on the main menu!) the weird buttons thing was a little annoying but I'm used to it from nintendo switch online playing the NES stuff.
All so is did they anounce what the rest of contra games are
I still have my original NES and SNES so I'm wondering if I need this. Looks great though!
Physical copy then I'll buy
There won’t be one, just get it. Digital games don’t bite.
@@peppinoandweskerfriendsfor3450 I don't buy digital games.
No Metroidvanias
No physical release
No sale
I just got this, the advance collection, and requiem on ps4- just everything I wanted!
I hope these collections sell so good that they make some more, Turtles and Goemon for example, I'd love that so much.
put a lot hours into Simon's Quest as a kid. It's the deepest of the bunch if you're willing to invest yourself. It paved the way for sotn and dawn of sorrows mechanics.
LimitedRunGames just announced a VERY Deluxe physical edition of this collection with a physical book!
Found it for 5 bucks on the eshop today, i love classic castelvania so it was an instant purchase . Rgt, you didn't mention the inclusion of the japanese versions of some of the games the japanese version of Kid Dracula is in it as well
Interesting that bloody tears on start screen is from the fds version of simons quest. Beginning is from the FC version of dracula curse
Glad to see all of the Nintendo system names in the cover art collection - I wonder if that was kept for the other consoles.
Got it for 5 bucks. One of my favorite purchases
Limited Run Games has a preorder for this collection right now.. The Ultimate Edition has the physical version of the book.
A rewind fuction like in the Disney Afternoon Collection could have been nice
Picked it up. It rocks. Your criticisms about lacking control customization are spot on. I do wish this had a PC Engine Rondo of Blood and PS1 Symphony of the Night. Maybe they'll do a second collection with those and the GBA games.
I didn't know spearow came out in Kid Dracula, pretty cool
I wasn't too thrilled when I found out it wasn't getting a physical release... I am still on the fence... But OMG it's so tempting.
