Who won the race? Runner in white shirt? They didn’t even show a slow-mo of the finish. 1:48 for all three runners. Leader for majority of race leaned in.
One of the craziest parts of this video in my opinion is that none of these guys have gone on to run a time faster than they did in this race. It’s as if they peaked in this moment. Now don’t get me wrong, they have been successful in running still to this day, but I believe these times still stand as all of their PRs for the 800... which in my opinion is just crazy.
bombbrain1 at 1:49 when they are running the final stretch the leader takes a quick look behind him and then starts drifting to his right out of lane 1 and blocks the runner/s from passing in lane 2. One of the runners uses this as an opportunity to try to pass on the inside and the other runner is forced to stray further right to pass.

Cool Vids he finished first to the hotdog stand
@@RockOnDoooooooooood HEH !!!!!!!😂😎😁😀😊😄😄😄
@@RockOnDoooooooooood yeah !!!!!!!
A super race, but I'm also impressed by the timing system. So much faster than we have in Europe.
High school and college sports are very big deal in USA!!
awesome race
Teacher: This year we're gonna have a running race
Me: Meh
Teacher: and the first prize is gonna be a PS5
Me: "Sonic mode Activate"
Meanwhile I'll be happy if I get under 2
ill be happy if i get under 2:20 lmao
I remember watching this in 7th grade and not knowing how fast this really was
I thought the intro was an ad wow
The 800m is a death sentence it’s incredibly hard I ran 2:19 and got 4th and it sucked as it was my best time as a junior.
Extended pen question zdfllcr plant skirt.
i’m only in middle school, but i did a 800 in 2:45 today and was so proud now i’m rethinking a little lol
Same I got a decent time as an 8th grader but im rethinking it now too
I was a freshman at 2:07 now I'm s sophomore and I think I'm going to get 1:56 this year.
Brenthekilla Nice, good luck. I'm going for under 1:53, I'm a Junior. Hopefully I can do it and you get your goal also!
Mustang XC100 Thank you and good luck I hope you reach your goal to!
did you get there? sounds a bit ambitious (what am I saying, I went from a 2:13 to 2:00 freshman to sophomore year). I ran sub-1:56 junior year and am going for low 1:50s this upcoming season
@@KaiDettman did you?
WHAT IN THE WORLD, I run a 2:09 800m. These guys are on another level
YSABekBek I run a 2:07. I struggle to even break 24.7 on my 200m, and they are over here running like 25 second 200 splits. Insane race
Ryan Galiczynski It's crazy that I wrote this comment just 3 weeks ago and I got a PR of 2:02. I can't run 200m but my 400m is 52.8
Insane!
the guy who won this race MADE this race, brave run and glad he took first
If the leader had gone through 400 at 53 or 54 instead of 51, he'd have likely won it.
He did win it
yeah what r u talking about lol
wom womp woooooomp!
. . . so he judged it just right - maybe ?! Great race, anyway !
AvgDude the leader did win it...Brandon mcgorty led the race gun to tape
1.48 800 is going to translate to Olympics for those top 3 that tall guy did a 51 sec opening lap. This is grown up speed remember they are still clean athletes.
doubtful. especially for a junior.
Wow. I find the 800 to be almost harder than the mile because you almost run it like a 400.
Who won the race? Runner in white shirt? They didn’t even show a slow-mo of the finish.
1:48 for all three runners. Leader for majority of race leaned in.
Yo, guys. No one asked me but I broke mach 5 running the 800m... Im 7 btw
Pffftt you can do better, I ran mach 8 when I was 4
@@LupixSubscribe lol I swim that distance faster than you and I'm still in my mom's womb.
Am I the only one who thinks he should've been DQd for blocking?
+Rrr Ccc
I think he's talking about when Drew kinda cut in front of Lomong around 0:54
bombbrain1 at 1:49 when they are running the final stretch the leader takes a quick look behind him and then starts drifting to his right out of lane 1 and blocks the runner/s from passing in lane 2. One of the runners uses this as an opportunity to try to pass on the inside and the other runner is forced to stray further right to pass.
carrjeep
Oh, ok I see what you were talking about.
I don't think it was illegal, but it wasn't very "sportsmanlike". Oh no, now I sound like an NFL ref.
You can’t get DQd for blocking here, he’s allowed to run in any lane he wants.
One of the fastest 800m races I have ever seen except for Olympic races and stuff like this
Wtf my best 800 is 3:08 and I'm top spit time for my team in the 800
Abby Jo1011 LMAO! Is it middle school?
Brian Bruno k but even in middle school most ppl get like 2 minutes to 2 minutes 30 seconds
TH2Hockey agt yea ik but he said best. In Highschool that would be way at the end. “K”
I thought my man that came in third was going to win it this was a great Race by all three guys awesome to watch
i know a 14 year old who has the british record for 800 and has run faster than a women ever has
Sebastien Cuming because if it's a guy smart one, all guys record for running, a girl has never ran. It's common sense pal.
you are thick i know a 14 year old boy who has the british record and has run faster than a women has ever run in history of the 800 metres
Sebastien Cuming that really doesn't make sense bud. All men's world record are faster than women's. it's common sense, but I mean u don't have any.
he is 14 he hasnt gone through pubity and is faster than young kenyan women you are so fucking thick
Did you just ask if this 14 year old that's "run faster than a woman ever has" in the 800 is a guy or girl?
I used to be terrified to run the 800 and ever since I ran it I’m loving it
I use to run a 1:52 as a freshman and no body ever batted an eye. If only I knew my own potential. Wasted my life for drugs.
To put this is perspective:-
Worlds Records 800m for High School aged runners.
Grade 11: 1:42.53 Timothy Kitum, Kenya.
Grade 12: 1:41.73 Nijel Amos, S. Africa.
Wow! Incredible talent! Wish my high school was like that.
Drew Hunter is a legend for high school relays
Winning by internet celebrity Drew Hunter. So sweet.
I was a sprinter in skl and they put me in for the 800m which I had never done before... I went off fast as sprinters do and proceeded to finish last 🤣🤣🤣🤣 never forget that day haha.
Wow what a great race. Got chills.
You used the adjective”ever” in the title. I always get leery when I see the word “ever” in the title. But in this case, I think you are absolutely right. This may have been the greatest High school 800 m run ever!
Hats off to all these guys. My best time was 1:59 in high school
at 300m to go, you could never guess who would win. 800 M60 - EMAC 2019-Campionati Europei Master-Jesolo-13/09/2019 - TH-cam
This was insanely fast! Really impressed! My PR on 800m is 2:06, I was 34 at the time. Now I'm 37. Maybe I can beat my own PR?
That's whats-up....keep the T&F videos coming
I run the 800 and im a freshman.
That time is actually insane
I’m doing 800m race next week in high-school for sports day .
Thoroughly entertaining guys!!! Great race!!!
That moment when the video is already shorter than your best time
That’s absolutely incredible
I do track and i know how hard this actually is in a race , they did great
Proud to say McGorty went to my school...
2:07 highschool 2:01 army these kids are fast.
UK U17 best is 1:47 for perspective.
most school records cant even beat that split for the 400!!
Greatest high school 800 race ever?
Hold my beer.
to put this into perspective on a world stage nigel amos ran 1:41.73 at London Olympics at 18yrs 147days. McGorty is 17 years 73 days when he runs this (meet date 07.05.2016. Best time run by a 17 year old in the UK as far as I can find is 1:47.5. if he can balance his pace a bit more he'll certainly run very fast.
