I had a stolen valor incident. Some college athlete tried to say he was a Marine while jointing a street football game I was playing with my 10 year old cousin. He didn’t know I served 5 years. I actually believed him and was only curious as to what unit he served with. But he said a base I had never heard of and made no mention of any units. Then I realized, how can you be a college athlete and be active (which he said he was). You can’t graduate from Morgan State and play on their team if you are active in Florida (I don’t know any active bases in FL). Then when I asked more questions, he attempted to have a deep conversation with my 10 year old cousin. He left a little while after, I got a deflection on him but he burned me a couple times (I was 2 years out at the time, proud I kept up with him even when I’m out of shape) but I yelled Semper Fi to him he didn’t reply. That’s garbage bro. Be yourself.

P.S. He said he was working with SEAL Team 1 aboard his boat then he was imbedded with Team 2....yeah that's not likely. (For those that don't know, odd numbered teams are west coast, even numbered teams are east coast.)

Ok, in Nam, they were a "different" kind of SEALS. They were UDT and I believe they didn't have BUD's back then (I could be wrong on that). When the SEALS actually came out, they included UDT. That being said, dude wasn't even UDT.
As for the CIB (I was Artillery, so again, not an expert on this), there was a lot of fucked up shit going on with that when we went to DS/DS. I heard that the guys that went to Panama (Operation Just Cause) the year prior didn't get the star when they went to Saudi. I also heard that our Nam Vets (almost all of our Senior NCO's were Nam Vets) didn't get a star for Panama or Saudi. I didn't stick around to hear the outcome of all of that. I was a stop loss and got extended for deployment. Once we got back, I cleared and ETS'd.
I found the easiest way to avoid Posers, is to plaster your truck with Military Stickers. The Vets will talk to you, but I only had one poser approach me to tell me he was a Lt in the SEALS. I doubt the guy was even old enough to buy beer. This was right after Bin Laden was killed and everyone became a SEAL.

Ranger school is literally just one of those things that looks good on your record so you can get to higher ranks. That's it. In my old company alone, there was maybe 14 or so dudes that made it through and got their patch. Were they better than us? A bit. Because fuck that. I didn't wanna do it. But they were basically the same as us, just had gone through a shitty training. Half of them had shitty pt scores still maybe a year later. Most of them sucked at rucking. For instance, I didn't even know he was eligible for a Purple Heart and DIDN'T TAKE IT until 3 months ago when I had a conversation with my mom - and he's been dead for 7yrs now. I remember when I was maybe 5, I was snooping through some drawers and found two medals he'd earned. The only thing I can really remember was the look on his face - you'd think I'd gone out back and dug up a murder victim. The one at 13:34 was actually in my home town lol. I remember it kinda being some big deal then it died down pretty quick. Pretty weird to see Nikko cover it lol

This was hilarious as well as entertaining. With that being said I highly recommend that you react to the new Angry cops video where he reacts to the announcement where you can walk or run as part of the new Air Force PT standards. Trust me on this... You will lose your mind watching this one.!! And happy Fourth of July to you sir and stay safe
