So glad that to see Foucault taken so intelligently - as usual for this group, of course. And yes, Foucault has a strong affinity with Adorno.

It's amazing how silo'ed Critical Theory acolytes are, and how much like it sounds like a cult now that I am no longer a True Believer in Crit Theory.

How so (it's actually the most diverse of disciplines; so much so, that it is actually quite difficult to define it) I do agree that the discourse those heavily involved in it engage in is quite inaccessible at times. There is a bit of a barrier to entry, probably one that shouldn't be there, but just the presence of such a barrier doesn't mean there isn't anything there worthwhile, even crucial

Marx and Engels were practical revolutionaries. They didn’t just sit around analyzing texts and theorizing. So we’re Lenin, Trotsky, Luxemburg, etc.. But since WW1, it’s nothing but talk, talk, talk.

Too practical, that their philosophy ends up becoming a Rationale for Totalitarian Regimes comparable only to Holocaust.

I agree we need action, radical action for the climate, for the poor (myself included unfortunately) and for peace. But I would say Marx and Engels were also radical democrats too, right? I am not an expert. But it seems to me that with hindsight from Stalin and Mao we should emphasize this element of bottom-up communism. OF course, this will not fix everything. The majority can be wrong too, right?
