    My grandpa was on the cutter USS Woodbine acting as a search and rescue and icebreaker on Lake Michigan. It’s nice to see the recognition they deserve.

      The stronger the US Navy is the safer the security for the vessels, HA. They can save money from pirate attacks.

    8:12 more than 65’ long’ is technically accurate but that is just the smallest size. The largest is 420’ long. This production is a little funky. Cute penguins tho. Maybe they were waddling in a northly direction??

      You're right I guess it actually has to do with how they bolster them together. When tipping occurs its better for them to be forced to roll off compared to being able to slide off if placed "horizontally". That's at least from the source I found

      My guess is the loading and unloading process dictates the direction. Boats are alongside the peer at launch and containers are removed by cranes one at a time. The containers are unloaded directly onto semi trucks which haul them to a logistics yard. Not having to turn the containers 90 degrees would make that process safer. That just a guess.
