Here we are indeed.. lol I think we just like seeing Garron doing anything really... Plus, it's interesting to see what other countries' brands of food are 😁😁
If you put your potatoes in the fridge they will turn into sugar according to one of my chefs from culinary school. The question is how long will it take? Is it facts? 🤔
Garron lad, I was away at university when I had my first tuna melt (1973!) What a revelation! Up till then I was sad at the abysmal food available at the cafeteria. After discovering the almighty tuna melt, I never looked back, so I’m with you there!
It will go rancid eventually but takes a long time. Even longer if it hasn't been opened yet. Once opened, it won't keep indefinitely even in fridge. Freezing until needed is the best way.

PUTTING SPUDS IN THE FRIDGE IS A BRILLIANT IDEA. We spud growers always but 99% of our harvests into refrigerated cold storage. The spuds youre buying in the shops probably have been in cold storage for months before they are bagged reach a store shelf. ALWAYS put root veg in the fridge if you don't plan to use them right away.

The butter will be more than fine so long as your fridge is at the right temperature, it will be fine up to a good couple of weeks after that end date if it’s kept cold. If your broccoli is going yellow on the edges it is no longer good. I’m surprised your voice didn’t echo, your fridge is Barron…… Garron. Stay cosy and have a monumentally grand New Year.😅
Tuna, sweetcorn, mayonnaise is standard Brit fare for a tuna salad. Usually in a heavily buttered bread. I grew up on that stuff 😊 Not in the least bit healthy but if you're having it made, you can ask for extra (actual) salad.

Rooster potatoes are the daddy! Even once cooked, they keep their flavour in the fridge. I only discovered this with leftovers. Other potatoes tend to have that stale taste on reheating. I’ll be buying these from now on. 🎉
Loved this!! It was also educational as I never knew you could keep potatoes in the fridge. You will do awesome on your health journey. Happy New Year! 😁
Hi Garron. Why are the potatoes in the fridge ? You can take those little potatoes, boil them till fork tender. Then put them on a cookie/baking sheet. Smash each of them, just a bit, w the bottom of a glass or cup. Brush w melted butter and garlic. Salt and pepper them. Sprinkle w Parmesan cheese and broil till the cheese melts. Fabulous. You can really use any cheese.❤️❤️❤️
Sending you safety prayers/vibes for the storm this weekend. Now that that's said. Sweet corn in tuna salad? I'm American and we typically put celery in our tuna salad. Also, why do you put your potatoes in the fridge? We've always left our potatoes out. If we keep them in a dark dry place, they won't sprout eyes for a very long time. Love your videos!
You need a cooking show! If you can make the contents of your fridge entertaining, imagine what you could do with some good recipes featuring Irish food products. Thanks from Canada 🇨🇦 ❤
I work in Dunnes Garron on checkouts. It was worse than Christmas the last two days. I’m exhausted. Now on my way to a hens and back in work tomorrow. FML. By the way, I would leave my husband for you 🤭 Edit tuna melts rock. We could feed each other. I like a bit of red pepper in my tuna mix x
You gotta start transferring your food and drinks to useless but aesthetically pleasing acrylic and/or glass containers if you want to make it in the niche world of fridge tours.
I've the same fridge. I can get 14 Guinness Nitosurges in the bottom drawer. 5 bottles of wine in the space over it. And the rest of the fridge is dedicated to cultivating bacterial cultures as yet unknown to science by just ignoring whats there.
That’s the classiest and cleanest looking fridge I’ve seen in a good while. I’ve got short arms and so there are several things toward the back of my fridge that are more than suspect. We just eat what is on the first facing row and some of what’s in the middle, but the back has ancient jams and pasta sauce that should have been tossed a month ago. Could be a tartar sauce back there, you never know. And the salad dressing …be sure to look at the best before date before partaking. I wouldn’t want to interrupt a lovely visit with a wee trip to the hospital.

Hey Garron! Broccoli and most other veg keep better in the fridge if you remove their plastic when putting them in. Broccoli tends to sweat and go mouldy under the cellophane

Keeping spuds in the fridge stops them sprouting so quickly. It's exactly what we do after we harvest them and before we get people in to sort them. Spuds can stay in cold storage for ages before they reach a store or market.
Broccoli is best when it's a blue-ish green, or green, or light green, but not yellow. If it looks purplish deep reddish and it's starting to have gray fuzzy mold, that's not good. It's okay if it's a little soft and wilted, it's just dehydrated from being in the fridge and that's why they put it in plastic to keep it perky and filled with moisture so it also can cost more when you weigh it. You can soak it for a little to firm it back up, but it's not usually worth the time and just throw it in whatever you're making and it should be alright. edit: and you can always cut off the not healthy looking parts and eat the rest. including the stalk. if the stalk is too tough, cut off the parts you don't like. sometimes the stalk gets hollow, it creeps me out so i eat around it, or avoid the stalk. but, you CAN eat the whole thing. finally: broccoli is supposed to be sweet! never bitter, so if it is bitter, it's gone bad and you can toss it.

Happy New Year Garron!!🥳Any tips on optimal stuffing of a TurDucKen, or a Goose, for *"Little Christmas"/"Women's Christmas"* tomorrow (6th). We're doing the roast for the cousins who did the Christmas Dinner (as is the custom in Ireland, on the last day of Christmas). The inner duck in particular - what should stuff thr with?🤔I was thinking a fruity bitter Cranberry-dense type stuffing bcoz most ppl do duck (on its own) with tangy orange sauce and the like, right?So...maybe a cinnamon-cranberry, or a clove-orange-cranberry🤔Or just cranberry....bcoz ya don't wanna wreck the taste for the chicken or the turkey and their respective stuffings between the layers. Have the TurDucKen on standby. Still looking for a Goose on the loose anywhere in Dublin... Dunnes... Supervalu... a Butchers... 😂 Bledy cushy there, alright, with the M&S ... and the takeouts, in this climate of War Inflation!! Sure yer minted there altogether!! 😜 Your broccoli is bolox'd tho!! Not only are the Supermarkets cleared out from "Big Freeze" (that'll never come) Panic Shopping, but mostly because you *will* overwhelm yourself if yo go straight to raw produce & making a thousand meals from scratch all at once in the same week. Tog a bog é there Garron. Plan to whip up 2 simple "batch" cook meals. Like a chilli con, or a chicken korma. And freeze a big pot of food into little lunch box size food storage containers. Then have a handful of the *"healthier-ish"* readymeals on standby. Like Supervalu or Dunnes Roast Dinners. And also handful of takeout-like ready-meals, so you can lean on them instead of takeouts when you have the impulse or cravings for a takeout.
Yh either snow or rain forecast over here in blighty? Love ya Garron, blimey that's a big pot of tuna mix there, in England they are tiny enough for a kind of sandwich 🫤🙄
That was fascinating. Can you follow up looking at your crockery? I’m very particular about cups for drinking tea - I like a bit of bone china, and not oversized cups, can’t be doing with that
People who grow root veg always put their harvests into cold storage. Try buying a bag of spuds and put them in the fridge, they last for so much longer.
Why are you worried about butter that is a few weeks old???? My mother is 1st generation Irish...yes, I know unless you live in Ireland now it doesn't count if your father came from Ireland, but trust me....butter stayed in OUTSIDE her fridge for weeks and weeks. It's fine. If it's growing mold, scrape it off, but it's fine.
I appreciate that you're planning to get the baby potatoes so you don't need to use the butter, but you still have the three types of butter. My grandad kept a cigarette on his nightstand after more than ten years off them just out of spite for human weakness.
You are so delicious! Kerry Gold butter is in my fridge. The ONLY butter I eat. Thank goodness we get it in Florida US. Your "half inch of snow blizzard" made me lose it cuz I'm from New York and lived 15 years in New England so I get how places not used to snow come to a halt when it happens. Thanks Garron. Stay delicious!
Surprised, as a fellow gourmand, that you don't keep butter out on the counter in a covered butter dish. Ditch the "spreadable" stuff which is full of additives. Keep one stick of butter out at room temp. It's perfectly fine for several days (lasts even longer if salted) and stays spreadable. Keep some butter in the fridge though if you want to do some baking, particularly cookies. Put the broccoli in a smoothie 👍
I pigging LOVE videos like these, can't wait til the healthy food haul. My favourite videos are the hauls for budget healthy meals as I am on a money saving and healthy eating kick 😅
No Garron your fridge is looking rather sad, but you must have missed the memo , fridge scaping is what your missing out on there Garron. You have got lovely room for it too, you put a lamp or candle with battery, a photo of your cute self and a bunch of flowers or a plant will do fine, and then on another shelf you could put a mini guitar or a microphone and a napkin holder filled with nice paper ones, and maybe a curtains on the bottom shelf to hide the food behind, ah sure pop in a chair too, so you will be comfortable if your having your Iced tea. Sure you would be delicious every time you open it, maybe a bit of wallpaper too. 😂😂😂
Keeping spuds in the fridge is exactly what spud growers and producers do before they are sorted into bags to stop them spoiling. Keep any root vegetables in the fridge to stop them spoiling or sprouting quick. How do I know this? I'm a spud farmer
The weatherforecast knew that you were going to keep the fridge open for so long. You are creating the blizzard in Ireland Kinder Pinguì: a bit of your heritage.
I've never heard of the Tuna melt craic. Never saw it anywhere. The fridge looks fierce sparce . I know there's a cost of living crisis but even so. Why the broccoli in the fridge. I'd always go for the corn fed eggs and the corn fed chicken. Overall I'd give ur fridge 7.9 / 10. Happy new year Garron

Haha ha ha ha YES 😂
So, a father must've designed my mum's fridge. It starts to let out extremely annoying high-pitched beeps if the door is opened for too long.

I adore how you manage to be simultaneously totally sarcastic and deadly serious. It’s a combination I can’t resist! Thanks for the laughs 😊
Truly riveting entertainment. Personally I would make a broccoli potato soup to enjoy during the blizzard.
Don't want to be telling an Irish man how to potato, but I was always told not to keep them in the fridge.
Same but now I live in subtropics and I now keep mine in fridge as they go bad too quickly in the higher humidity. They seem to be fine 😃
If you put your potatoes in the fridge they will turn into sugar according to one of my chefs from culinary school. The question is how long will it take? Is it facts? 🤔
I’ve had mine in the cupboard and they started growing arms and legs. I also found a small map with directions to the garden.

I'd never be eating a tuna with corn. You can put pickles, and onions, just not the corn.
Celery bits in the tuna, that’s where it’s at. Maybe pickles, but they overpower the tuna taste. Balance is what is needed

I love the multiple butters! Of course you need a different butter for everything :)
Stick man here, also love tuna melts, food of gods.
Ah i see you also have the obligatory singular vegetable hanging about till it goes moldy in the old fridge there garron.
Always fun to listen to you, my Irish friend
I could listen to you talk all day
That was fascinating. Can you follow up looking at your crockery? I’m very particular about cups for drinking tea - I like a bit of bone china, and not oversized cups, can’t be doing with that
Tuna melts are underrated.
Eggs and potatoes have no place in the fridge. Very clean and tidy fridge though 👌
Why do you keep the potatoes in the fridge? I have never heard of that before and I'm 79. Faith an fear👍🇮🇪
Happy New Year Garron. Love your videos :)
Im a sucker for a peach tea too! You better not be getting "notions" with aw that M&S scran Garron!
Why are the potatoes in the fridge?? Potatoes and onions go in the cupboard. Along with peanut butter and the tomato sauce/ketchup.
Keeping spuds in the fridge is exactly what spud growers and producers do before they are sorted into bags to stop them spoiling. Keep any root vegetables in the fridge to stop them spoiling or sprouting quick.
How do I know this? I'm a spud farmer
Tomato ketchup needs to be stored in the fridge once it's opened
Garron, butter has lasted for hundreds of years in the bogs. Yours isn’t even out of date.
The weatherforecast knew that you were going to keep the fridge open for so long. You are creating the blizzard in Ireland
Kinder Pinguì: a bit of your heritage.
The panning shots are glorious.
Garron! Your mayonnaise is upsidedown!
