is ti possible to manage the server where it installed? is it allowed? its very new thing to me.. we only one hyper-v running as role in windows server 2022. can I install on it which is not part of the domain. ill be installing domain controller in the same hyper v server.. so in this case any advice
I don't really recommend installing applications directly on your hypervisor, they should all be installed on the virtual machines it hosts. However, I don't see why it wouldn't work. For devices that aren't on the domain, you should be able to specify credentials for the Windows Admin Center to use when you add the device. I've never used it this way, so I'm unsure how reliable it will be. Thanks for watching!
You can install WAC on either a server or a client. Usually, you install it on a server and then people access it over the network using a browser. Thanks for watching!
Danny good video but 99% of the time people have issues AFTER the installation. WAC is not really out of the box ready to roll, takes quite a few commands to run to make your servers and desktops/laptops even properly work through this. It would be helpful if you actually added another host besides the gateway which automagically works fine.
Hi Kristopher, In the video I showed how to connect to other servers and I even added the Domain Controller server and Hyper-V server to the WAC instance. I agree that there is a lot more to Windows Admin Center than I showed, but this video was more about getting it installed, connecting to other servers, and taking a quick look around the portal. Thanks for watching!
