      I got 10100f 1y ago, its good for my World of warships 2K(75pfs avg at low/med settings, with some drops), gpu i have 1050 2G since 2017, nothing affordable since last year for gpu upgrade. Found 2060S would hit probably 1perc lows with 60pfs, but that pricing now... you know.
      Since my cpu/mb/ram upgrade(old was AMD K8-7660 4c/4t 4x3,1GHz, 8GB DDR3/1866, new one already mentioned i3-10100f 4c/8t 4x3,6/4,3, 16GB DD4/2666) i got maybe 10percent higher avg fps, but mainly double 1perc lows, far better experience.
      Maybe 10400 would help another 10fps 1perc low more, but i dont think its that upgrade worthy.
      MSI afterburner shows 25perc+ cpu utilization, but ingame not over 50, so I guess upto 4xmore powerfull gpu could go in).
      That Intel desktop is expected to come in q2 2022, hmm.
      Whoever is low budget, dont worry to pick this cpu.
      Finally i found this cpu really energy saving, my power draw dropped with upgrade by 20-40W, probably thx to lower utilization.
      P. S. My MB is Gigabyte Aorus B460 Pro, but i guess you can pick st even cheaper, I just wanted pick something solid for my build, but that RGB feature is disabled, lol.

      @@zenix0-0 Idk what price for 2060 you get right now. Seems worst time to buy gpu at current pricing. It depends alot on game you prefer and settings, mainly resolution and targeted fps.
      I did few things before making this "2060s performance level decision". (note I dont have that rtx, I deny to spend st like 600usd+)
      So I set gpu drivers to resolution planned to game in(even my monitor didnt support it, I could create custom resolution over those active monitor detected) So I made in gpu drivers 2560x1440 and set it ingame)
      Also checked MSI afterburner gpu and cpu load.
      Finally few benchmarks from yt with similar HW(if not 10100f available maybe 9400f comparable)
      If not mentioned, my gpu runs 85perc load while cpu bored at 25+,but it depends alot on game engine and settings.
      If you pick some gpu intensive game, wont need 150+fps and wont go ultra low resolution for CSGO like fps result, then I guess anything midrange gpu is yeah for i3.
      (noticed i want simply rid of low 1perc lows and up details, I dont need more fps, as my gpu bottleneck, thats something 2-3powerfull over my GTX1050 solution).
      I3 10100 is great, only its weakness loading maps and so, but thats 80usd briliant gem you give your eyes, man.
      Definitely those 100usd with higher hradě cpu for some funny 4sec for loading maps faster.. That money better spend on what gpu you can get. None would be hurt by that cpu (except rtx 3080 and up for some AAA game and idk what else).
      What price you get for that 2060?

    I think something around the 2070S, upcoming 3060Ti is perfect for 6700, 6700k, 7700, 7700k and 1100F for 1440p. Maybe a slight bottleneck, but will only be noticible in some titles. Combine witha g-sync monitor and you will not notice those tiny dips in FPS. I'm not sad at all for the 300$ i gave for my 6700K in like 2015, that over 5 years of service, still works.

    May is there not too much compare about price/performance. The core i3 10100f does the job very well and very well priced too(I have this paired with an RTX 2060). Anyway, any core i5 or i7 from same gen will be a nice upgarde if you're planning update. I really do think you can take a lot advantage from an core i3 10100f to core i7 10700k, as example. As I'd say, not too much to compare about price/performance, core i3 10100f its great but consider i5 and i7. They will make very notiaciable advantage.

      I dont even go beyond my Samsung ssd 860evo 256 GB SATA3, untill i need at least double size main storage. I though about nvme 3rd gen samsung980, its 512gb for maybe less than80usd(1700CZK), but no extra space need ATM and that cache speed wont boot my game much faster than sata3(1second stupid upgrade, no fps gain)
      My tip:
      Avoid being blinded by gaming close to any pc stuff(alot ofchinese crap has that but also good makers)
      1.my "gaming" monitor is office AOC Q32P2, 31,5inch(80cm), 2K,75Hz, with gsync compatibility/adaptive sync, IPS, pivot, USB 3 hub(uselless when monitor goes sleep, lol), and it was 7200czk(i think 280usd).
      2.gaming mouse gigabyte lazer 6880mx, simply lazer mouse does great job, no rgb;)
      3.keyboard, keeping MS Sidewinder(1000czk/40usd 19yago), but i remember even Chicony 102 key standard with big Enter key was good, mainly big space bar and standard size with keyboard and keypad with space between is ok for me
      4.fans are stuff for cooling, desktop lamp for light if needed
      Last idea:
      Dont go ultra high settings
      Anyway it was big challenge make my i3/1050 perform ok after monitor upgrade from 1680x1050 to 2K(roughly 2x more pixels, same computer power)
      I went both Nvidia display settings(thx Jayz2cents) and ingame to kick ass its automatick preset to high details, I found i can draw all juice from my 1050, but bottleneck there at 100perc utilization, so I made setup to be eye ok and gpu be at 85percent utilization!
      Miracle but doable.
      Finally set cpu fan scheme manually, bit customization from default not to go cpu gpu F1 engine sounds.
      (cpu cooler for i3 i took Arctic Freezer 64Pro, really worthy around 400CZK/below 20usd)

    • @gstormcz
      @gstormcz 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I personally would miss upgrade inside single cpu generation, I mean going from i3 to i5. Only single upgrade with maintaining same MB i did was from singlecore AMD Sempron 2,6GHz to dualcore 64X2 2x2,9. Until you run heavy background tasks or go just for 1perc low boost, I think that typical few-20perc avg fps upgade not worthy touch you settled heart.
      Its rumored 30perc performance upgrade is niticeable, I do personally upgrade only by 100perc, its usual 3-5y duty cycle for many components.
      HW Unboxed made nice benchmark for cpu scaling, you find there 10600 not big leap from 10400, bc that is just clocked higher, but test proves l3 cache does biggest boost to gaming performance, so upgrade from i3 to i5 or from i5 to i7 etc makes mostly sense.

      I wouldn't be too worried about the bottleneck monster, it's almost impossible to get no "bottleneck", just try to keep things balanced between GPU and CPU and you should have no problems. it's a slippery slope once you start trying to have a perfect combination. try not to focus too much on the numbers but on the game itself.

    • @anotherperson7766
      @anotherperson7766 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bottleneck is more than cpu , gpu compatibiity issue . It can happen because of the game API it self or because the game optimization ...... Ect
      But in your case it is ok to get 2060 or what ever you want
      I3 10100 can handle it
      It is 4 cores 8 threads cpu with 3.6 GHz up to 4.3 or 4.1 ghz

    • @RandomBenchmark
      @RandomBenchmark  3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      In some games you will lose performance if you pair 10100 with 3070 at 1080p, for example in Red Dead Redemption 2, Microsoft Flight Simulator or Watch Dogs Legions GPU utilization is around 70-80% which means there is a CPU bottleneck. At 1440p resolution GPU utilization will be higher and the CPU bottleneck will nearly entirely be eliminated.
      With RTX 2070 Super the GPU utilization is pretty max out which means that CPU will not bottleneck the GPU and this is the GPU you should use as max for 1080p.
      You can also wait for RTX 3060/RTX 3060 Ti which should be perfectly fine with 10100.

      Then I got no idea why you have very low framerate. I can easily get with 10100 over 100fps in most AAA games and over 60fps in games like cyberpunk 2077.
      Update the motherboard bios to the newest version and also update the RTX 3060 Ti bios to get resizable BAR. Once you do all this enable Resizable BAR in the motherboard BIOS and it will improve FPS in many CPU limited games. You can also try to enable hardware accelerated GPU scheduling in windows, it can improve FPS slightly in some games.

      I have it always on for most benchmark and I'm using in my main PC. Try it for yourself if it will help with the framerate.

      There is no difference when using discrete GPU is the same CPU.
      F at the end means that the CPU is without integrated GPU.

      For 1080p gaming yeah. But this CPU is good choice for 4k 60fps (adaptive sync on) single player games. So it could be paired with something stronger than these GPU you mentioned.

    • @DanielOfRussia
      @DanielOfRussia 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Portelasena Well that applies to any other chip not just the 10100. 4K is completely GPU bound

    • @Portelasena
      @Portelasena 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DanielOfRussia sure. But in some places this is the cheapest cpu for a new PC builder, in that scenario it's a really good budget for those looking for a great and cheap 4k experience. But of course, if you have a little more room 10400f is a good choice either (at least in Brazil where Intel is usually cheaper than AMD).
