I watched 50% as a learning curve and the other 50% because I was so intrigued with the southern accent, like I could not hear enough of it being a Nova Scotia-ner from Canada. Thanks for the Vid.
Nice work. We want to run water lines out to the pastures and the county has one of those 3 point subsoilers but it has a tube that runs to the bottom of the shank then it curves towards the back. Can be used to install up to 2 inch pipe! Someday maybe I'll actually do it!
That's the only way to install conduit or pipe for me. I ran water to the barn and sheds 2 years a go and it's still doing fine. The longest straight pull I made without joining the pipe was 100' of 1" hard PVC pipe. I think it could've gone further without breaking but I played it safe. What have you found out about length of pull? Advice to anyone getting started, my subsoil is a Tabor which could be longer for this use. Heavy-Hitch makes an 28" adjustable subsoil which could easily be made longer with a welder. If I went longer I would make two passes, one half way then one at the depth with the pipe. It can be pulled with a 4x4 truck or a tractor. Hope this helps.
Thanks for watching and commenting. We have pulled 200 ft run with it. We’re fixing to pull a couple electrical wires with it soon. Got to add a plug for our race car trailer. So we can plug it up during the week. Have a good week
Just wanted to add: Not sure if you considered it but have you seen the vid "Subsoiler - modified cable, wire and pipe burier/layer*, after learning this method it now seems like a no brainer for the small extra effort and cost of modifying things. If it would not be beneficial to you plse let me know before I get started on my pipe burying. thanks.
I think it will help when doing electrical lines. But I think our way will work better for pvc water lines. I might build me the attachment for mine to do electrical lines.
Great idea for sandy soft soil with no rocks to settle back onto the pipe. This method in the wrong soil is a bad idea unless you like to replace water lines on the regular. There's a reason why the right way of installing water lines is to backfill around the pipe with sand. I've had to install several thousand feet of water line in the past 7 years, mostly reinstalls because because crushed water lines.
Thanks for watching and commenting. The good thing is we don’t have any rocks here where we live in South Carolina. Different strokes for different folks. Have a good weekend
@@agustusfarnworth3379 usually 8" give or take a couple. Some places require more some don't care but we always do it unless the soils nice and smooth.
I actually just ordered a subsoiler from Everything Attachments-got to lay some pvc water line like you did. I know you made the attachment to hold the pvc pipe, but what exactly did you use & how did you attach it to the subsoiler? Did you just weld a small section of pipe to the subsoiler, or did you weld a small section of pipe to some flat bar & then bolt the entire assembly to the subsoiler? Thanks for the info.
Richard Rhodes thanks for watching. You can weld pipe on or cut the pipe on one end so it will straddle the sub soiler and put a bolt or two through the ears in the front. It works good for us. Have a good one
How long of a pvc run can you make like this before the resistance gets too much and separates the pipe? I have a straight run I need to make that's about 200 yds long
Thanks for watching. I think you will be good. The shank is bigger than 1” pipe. You could weld something on the sub soiler to make it open the hole a little bigger for the pipe. Stay safe. Have a good one
I use posthole diggers , to dig most of my narrow trenches......When I redid my Electric Entrance I dug 3 trenhes about 36 in deep about 6 ft long,,,,Under established water lines and sewer lines...to keep the power company from cutting them.........
Lol. You have had plenty of time to go back and watch them all by now. Shame on you. We only have like 650 videos. Thanks for watching and commenting buddy. Have a good one

LVF Northern Wisconsin Farming ours works good. You can do a lot of pipe fast. We’ve even done wire the same way. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Thats a good idea! Worked pretty darn good, thanks for sharing.
Ohio Hill Tops Hobby Farm you can get a lot of pipe in the ground pretty fast. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
great information....great example of working smarter- not harder
Elkslayer save your back you’ll need it tomorrow. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Thank you for the video. It looks great.
Thanks for watching and commenting. Have a good weekend
Great video how deep did y'all go
Thanks for watching and commenting. About 13” deep. Here in South Carolina it normally won’t freeze long as it is covered up. Have a good one
That's way easier then dig them trenches, good job 👍❣
Joy Steward yea it is . Still some digging by hand but still way easier. Thanks for watching 👍🏻

great video! quick question, how do you keep that pipe from freezing in the winter?
Thanks for watching. Here in South Carolina where I’m at as long as it’s just under the ground we don’t have any trouble freezing. Have a good one

How much sand would you put around it?
@@GerraldFarms ya soils decently sandy but not always. We have more clay and stones than sand where I'm at but occasionally we get those nice digs.

Thanks a million-should receive my subsoiler this week.
I hope it works good for you. We do a live hangout every Sunday night at 8:30 pm est. stop by if you get a chance.
Wow I'm actually shocked the friction between the pipe and the dirt didn't keep the pipe from moving!! Would this work with black polyethylene pipe?
Yea we have buried black poly pipe before. Thanks for watching. Have a good weekend
What about electric wire? Do you just pull it through the same way??
I’ve seen people pull wire the same way

was wondering same thing. Great idea!
Did the subsoiler come with the piece to put the pvc pipe in or did y'all make it?
Thanks for watching. We made it. It was very easy to modify. Have a good one
Excellent work we’ve talked about doing that too thanks for sharing

That's slick! Nicely done. I need a subsoiler again..

That works well, and quicker than a trencher.
Massey1105driver yea you can bury a lot pretty fast and it easy to cover up. Just drive down trench. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
You Tube sent me this to look at, must be nice to be a big timer that they push out 2 1/2 year old videos. 😂

i have alot of water line to bury nxt spring. I'll invest in a subsoiler . Save my back.
It will save your back. We use it for water lines and electrical wire.
Cool idea!!
