Hi Kat and Steve, l know this video is from a while ago. Just have agree with the simple bowdabra being the easiest…. Just starting out with my very small group and have a divide decision on both the bowdabra and the bow maker!!! I have 4 different bow makers and have a divided opinion in as much as…. Each individual person finds their own medium when it comes to bow making. I save your videos to play in my group endeavours. Thank you for your fabulous tutuorials… 👏👏👏

You make very beautiful bows, and I owe you more appreciation than you can possibly imagine! I was going to get my son to make me a wooden version of the bowdabra, because I was in a hurry, and didn't have time to purchase anything, I and asked him how long it would take him to make me one that looked exactly like yours, and he said about 3 seconds. I was very confused, until he sent me a picture of one I had packed up in my shop 15 to 20 years ago, and I forgot I had it, because it confused the crap out of me trying to follow the instructions that came with it, so I packed it up!! You made it so much easier for me, and I made my first bow with it last week, and it turned out beautifully! Thank you so very much for making the process so much simpler, and you also taught me something else with this video that that messed me up when I made mine, and that you showed how, in detail, how you cross your tails across from each other, and your loops across from each other, and this is where I messed up in that the next one up, you pulled it the opposite direction. That's what I didn't get and made last week's bow look off! Thank you so much for explaining that! Now, I have two questions. I believe I know the answer to this one. Do you ever put dovetail and points combined in the same bow? And the second question is if the ribbon is a stiff ribbon, does it have to be wired? Well, I guess I have three questions, because the bow behind you only has the tails going in what looks like basically the same direction, just offset a little, meaning you don't have a round bow. Did you not use as much ribbon, or did you just not separate them as far enough apart, so that it wouldn't cover up your center of your wreath? Because, I needed that kind of bow last week, more spiked to the sudes, but I got something that was more round like this one. That's not what I needed. What's the difference between the first one in this video one and the one behind you? You may explain it further on in the video, but this is A video that is over an hour long, and I'm tired and need to go to bed. I watched a little more of your videos, and you kind of sort of answered the question but now I'm going to change it). It's not really a question as it is a statement, but I guess it is a question in a sense, because I was trying to force myself to use the exact same size and number of ribbons you did, meaning a total of two 2.5 inch ribbons, and a total of four 1.5 inch ribbons, and I didn't have that. It cost me a week in making Christmas wreaths, to go out and find it, and they had sold out of white wired ribbon everywhere! So, I'll change my question up a little bit. According to this size of your wreath, starting from the frame to the entire width, do you have an equation on how many ribbons you use, and what size they should be? For the standard wreath frames, do you ever go to that 3-inch ribbon at the beginning, or do you go down to a 1-inch ribbon at the end, and do you decide sometimes you only need 5 ribbons, or even four?? Can you tell I have OCD? LOL thank you so very much for your inspirations and instructions regarding what I couldn't figure out myself when they first came out with the bowdabra! I did use the candy cane ribbon reefs that you posted if you weeks ago, but I added to it and that I used a Santa boot, as opposed to your Snowman, no offense, and I filled it with candy canes, and I used a Santa sleigh, and filled it with peppermint, For them to use it to treat their gifts, and they can refill them as needed! That wreath is still hanging where I was working on it, staring at it every day, trying to figure something out, with a good concept, but no Grand Finale, because I can't get it perfect, because I can use this video now to perfect the bow now, but what type of sign would I you put up on something like that, and how can you make it fast? (that's a statement, not a question for you) I don't have a cricut! I also acrylic paint and oil paint, but I am not a carpenter, and my son is always too busy to do anything for me. That would require a custom sign that's not going to be at JoAnn's, Hobby Lobby or Michael's! Not even online! So, I moved on to my next wreath! I did not use any of your other videos, but I have watched them! And, you are very good at what you do! I have some wonderful ideas for rates, and I will share them with you since I have waited too late in the season to be able to make any Christmas wreaths and sell them now! if you would like, I can send you and I am with all of my , since you probably already have the materials, and already have the online business. After a 21-year marriage that ended in divorce this summer, I'm in the process of trying to refinance my home or lose it, and you could have used that extra money this year! I just turned 60, starting my life over totally alone, And I'm disabled, and I'm really suffering, and my children and grandchildren will not have gifts from me this year. I may end up even losing my home next month because of my husband's attack to sabotage my ability to refinance the house, because he didn't pay the bills the judge ordered him to, and is refusing to until my time limit to refinance runs out, and it showed up on my credit report. I don't have the money to pay them.! Enough of that!! But, anyone with ideas on that to help me out, please go to my channel, subscribe and send me your ideas and prayers my way? I had 15 different ideas! And, I've got a marketing background, and some great ideas! I hate for them to go to waste. I would have had a business making raised 20 years ago if I could have watched one of your videos back then on how to make the bows! LOL But, we didn't have TH-cam and smartphones back then, we had VHS tapes! :-)

Brandi, the best thing I would suggest is go with what YOU like. There is no one way to create anything. Sometimes our best designs are made on the fly or while they are being created. Go with that, instead of a cut and dry formula for bow making. I love the opportunity to go with what works or what you feel at the time. I would encourage you to dedicate your business and efforts to God and allow Him to work through you. That's always my foundation for any good beginning.

@@KatsCreationsNMore And mine. If it wasn't for Him, I would not have made it through the last three and a half years! Again, thank you for your wonderful instructional videos! I took that bow off of my wreath,, disassembled it, took out two of the ribbons I did not like. And, I then figured out what I was doing wrong (which I was able to do of this video), and I love it! I'm keeping it for myself and my guests! :-)

Hi I just saw your video and I love your bow you made on the EZ bow maker and bowdabra. So for each ribbon just make your loop and tail about an inch to a half inch smaller each time? Also what size ribbon do you recommend to make a bow like yours? Also do you mix your different size ribbon for example do you put a 1 1/2 in ribbon then use a 2 inch or do you start with the bigger ribbon and go down . I am new to making bows.

Kat, good morning. It’s November 2023 and I’m new at making bows with the bowdabra. Can you please give me your basic bow ribbon tails and loop sizes. Also the bow width. Do you always use 6 colors. Can it be 4 or 5 If so, how do you compensate on the sizes. I just make crafts for gifts or my home. Im to chicken to make things and try and sell at a craft show. Kim

Remember bow making is simply a guideline but you can use anything to create any bow just by varying what you use and how much.

Could you please zoom in or either have a camera over head so we are able to look more closely as you are teaching being a new wreath maker and bow maker it’s hard to see what you are doing if you could consider that it would help us new comers and I would definitely become a dedicated subscriber because you speak clearly you are detailed in your teaching you also speak very kindly and with professionalism it’s a great feeling to know if one of my sons or my elderly dad walks in i don’t have to worry about pausing it for fear they will hear rudeness or foul language so Thank You for teaching with kindness and professionalism you are the real deal TH-cam back in the day was fun to watch influencers were doing it because they wanted to teach others I wish it was still like that but Greed has taken over so many that I can’t find many videos at my age I refuse to listen to the aggressive attitudes the ugly language they sound more like infomercials always trying to push products on people with at least 5 to 6 sponsored videos out of maybe 8 they make a week I don’t have a issue with anyone making money but it’s gotten so bad and I feel if you take on a sponsored video it should be a product you truly believe in if you can’t fully commit to the product and it’s something you wouldn’t use in your home with your own family then you shouldn’t push others to buy. I hope you will think about my idea of zooming in more I would love to support your channel and share with my other new mid 40’s moms that are also new to crafting. I hope you have a Happy New Year I pray your channel continues to grow and you receive all the successes you deserve just remember don’t change keep it real and G rated wish more moms would choose their character and reputation over greed. Have a great day!
