How to install bluetooth module to any speaker system I Altec Lansing ATP3 I

- This video is all about the installation process of bluetooth audio receiver MH M28 into a computer speaker system (Altec Lansing ATP3). This speaker system only had 3.5mm wired audio jack available on it. The quality of this speaker is exceptional and the bass is remarkable for an entry level speaker set. So, I think this one deserves an upgrade or modification because it's totally worth it. This video is not applicable on ATP3 speakers only but to other brands/models speaker audio system also that has no wireless audio receiving capabilities.
In this video, you might learn techniques in doing this that you might apply to your DIY projects also. The supply voltage of the speaker is roughly between 12-15V DC in the secondary. Yes, it uses a linear EI core transformers and I'm not really sure on it's voltage rating. However, it manage to work with no problem on my DIY 12V battery pack • How to make a battery ... . I want it also to work without connecting on AC mains so that I'll still be able to use it on a place where there's no source of electricity but only batteries.
The 3.5mm jack wired audio source function was not removed. I just added push button switch so that I can choose from two audio source namely wireless bluetooth audio and the wired source. The bluetooth module only gets powered when switch is set to bluetooth mode. That's why we need at least 12 pins for push button switch or slide switch. Note that it can be done using a 12 pins push button switch however I only manage to obtain a 24 pins switch on my local store.

The best 2.1 speaker of it's time. Mine is 19 years old and still sitting on my desk. Later models were low quality. Altec Lancing committed suicide.

prefer 621 than atp3.
I miss those days when altec lansing still produce high quality desktop speakers. I want to upgrade my atp3 to another altec lansing speaker, but today, there's no better options available from altec lansing 😔

Awesome build........but an inbuilt 12V AC to DC module would have been nice instead of an external 12V DC jack.

my atp3 is having a trouble with the woofer. when switched on and after few seconds the woofer stops producing bass,but the other two speakers works properly
Most problem I encountered on this type of speaker system is the wire. The one with the volume, treble and bass. Mostly near the connector end which is disconnected. However, as you said that the other two speakers has no problem. You can manually check the subwoofer speaker using a multimeter if it works fine then later check the amplifier IC's. I wont suggest you to open it but if have enough knowledge in repair and troubleshooting electronics then I think you can fix it.

How do you access the pair button on the BT module once you close it?
This version doesn't have pair button. Once you power ON the bluetooth module, it's ready to pair or it will connect directly if paired already.
Please simplify for the beginner bluetooth connections like me

@@TionoTan i noticed the hummmm is only happening when my ATP3 is connected to my computer, if I connect it to my iPhone the hummmm is gone, so the problem is in my computer.

this video make the beginners confuse?, why making the installation too complicated, instead of using mp3 Bluetooth module with fm radio, you can buy it from shopee or lazada for 120pesos or 2dollars and for the battery why it is external?

3.5mm jack ang input nya. Pero pwede ka gumamit ng RCA to 3.5mm plug sa ATP3.

The bt module is 3.3usd bro. I just use other electronics parts in this video from old electronics board. Gan I don't use WA.
How about the sound quality?
It's fair enough. If I power it with the AC, I noticed low level noise. But when using a battery, I can barely notice it. I think it's common downside of these cheap modules out there. But still works great.
