How do you know whats too deep?
When the tissue starts to be soft and it’s easy to cut through.
do they grow in a specific spot or can they appear anywhere?..🤔
They grow in a specific spot! They are on the inside of the horses leg just above the knee and the hock.
Why not use sharp scissors. The line to cut along is evident. Would be much easier.
It’s not safe to use scissors around horses. If they move their leg away fast you could accidentally stab them. They are also generally not sharp enough to cut through thick structures. You need more leverage.
What is that? A tumor?
It’s a normal keratinized growth on a horses leg called a chestnut. It’s similar to a dewclaw on dogs.
