Tuomas (founder, keyboarder, composer) generally doesn't care much for traditional song structure, though he uses it when it's convenient. But they definitely keep things interesting with rhythm changes, key changes, breakdowns, quiet times, interludes etc.
And that’s what sucks you in. You feel every one of those key changes, lulls and heavy sections. It’s like your soul says “thank you “, and that hole in your soul you didn’t know you had is all of a sudden filled to the brim 😎
There is old saying in the jungle that when Floor and Marko sings together, even tigers will lay down an purr! But now to the cold facts,proven by scientist: Yes, Floor is windmilling but opposite way than windmills do. Normal windmill needs wind to work but windmill of Floor is producing wind and with that floor-wind, the windmills will work around 12000-12500 RPM and that is more RPM's than at the engine of Ferrari. Also you may noticed that strong winds have come more regular on last years....Reason for that is not weather change, it is Nightwish on tour and Floor on stage.
LOL, I saw in 2000 in the Belgian F1 GP (I was there) Mika Häkkinen winning in a McLaren from Michael Schumacher Ferrari. And nowadays it's not a big promotion to sit in a Ferrari. 🤣 But still a great explanation.

Well done Thom...."Romanticide" and " Ghost River" are goose bumps from start to finish. Wacken is a can't miss venue, so are Wembley, Buenos Aires and Tampere concerts. It's not a rabbit hole you are in, it's the Grand Canyon.

Each song in the Wacken concert was written for the previous two singers, Tarja and Anette, and Floor made them her own. She had been with the band for about ten months when they performed in this concert. The chemistry between the band members is magic and they really enjoy what they do on stage. "Ever Dream" is my personal favorite from the Wacken concert; it has everything that makes Nightwish great in one song. Allow me to recommend "Dark Chest Of Wonders", the Wacken show-opener. You'd expect, given the circumstances (major festival, relatively new singer, insane crowd, film crew recording for the DVD, etc.) that they'd start off strong, right out of the gate. Well, it's like we say: have expectations, no matter how high, and Nightwish will meet and exceed them.

The bassist is Marco and he is quite a good vocalist as well. That last chorus buildup is unreal. It goes full double bass and they move the key up 3 half steps from G to ♭. Loved your reaction video my friend. Go for "Dark Chest of Wonders" next. Same show. Watch out for some videos out there that are a little slowed down. They take away the energy from the performance. Marko is absolutely a phenomenal and consummate musician and vocalist. You need to check out a lot of his other performances. I mean, I'm sure you will, but I am very partial to The Islander (do both the live and music video versions if you can) and While Your Lips Are Still Red. Those really showcase his talent.
I like how during Marko's first belt, Floor is returning the mic to the stand and she's nodding as to say "Yup. That's how we roll. He can sing too." lol
Everdream, from the End of an Era concert, is an excellent introduction to the talents of Nightwish's original singer, Tarja. She sings the same parts as Floor, in a slightly deeper range, with a more operatic vibrato.

Ever Dream is the first Floor Song I ever heard. She’s just phenomenal in this performance. I was fully on board with Nightwish again after hearing they had parted ways with Anette (which now after hearing her live, I’m not surprised with) Quick side note, I was devastated initially, Imaginaerum is still one of the best albums I’ve ever heard, from start to finish that album is a masterpiece. There isn’t a flaw in it, it tells a story that you can’t help but get involved with. But when you watch her live, she couldn’t cut it. Not well at least. Floor is in a category of her own. She’s confident, her talent is clearly seen, her control in her voice is flawless. Everything you’d see with Tarja. The difference for me? She sings both Tarja’s music and Anette’s beautifully which makes her a natural choice to go with. She’s got a range that makes me happy in every song. And you’re right. Marko steals my heart every time lol. Love this band, love your reaction 💞

You want to hear a secret - Nightwish have 3 awesome singers!!! Floor - nr 1 in the Galaxy Marco and Troy split nr 1 on Earth - because of their different styles. So - you are into the musical journey of your life - believe me! And another secret - they are that good because they are equal in the band - all six makes each other perform better - no one wants to steal the lights - on the contrary, they engage each other. That's Nightwish. And the last little secret - sorry to inform you - but will be addicted for lifetime 😅🤘🤘🤘

even little bit softer song,this song goes like a moose in a traffic lights wiuuuuuuf. great reaction thanx. facts how nightwish new album born. 1. tuomas make every song and he finish when he feeling him jacket is empty,cannot give anything more to the songs. 2. he ask marko,kai,emppu to same place and show them new album first time (material go to the troy and floor where they live). now boys improve whole album songs together to the best form they can. 3. floor and troy come then and whole band is together somewhere,they start improve song again together and when they all satisfied someday,they go to studio and but it on record. so even tuomas is the all father to do all the songs,everybody but they effort and improvements nightwish songs. tuomas say that he can hear whole song always in head in every part how it´s suggest to going to be in perfect way. tuomas also are the morning person when he can working only.

Ever Dream is the first Floor Song I ever heard. She’s just phenomenal in this performance.
I was fully on board with Nightwish again after hearing they had parted ways with Anette (which now after hearing her live, I’m not surprised with)
Quick side note, I was devastated initially, Imaginaerum is still one of the best albums I’ve ever heard, from start to finish that album is a masterpiece. There isn’t a flaw in it, it tells a story that you can’t help but get involved with.
But when you watch her live, she couldn’t cut it. Not well at least.
Floor is in a category of her own. She’s confident, her talent is clearly seen, her control in her voice is flawless. Everything you’d see with Tarja. The difference for me? She sings both Tarja’s music and Anette’s beautifully which makes her a natural choice to go with. She’s got a range that makes me happy in every song.
And you’re right. Marko steals my heart every time lol. Love this band, love your reaction 💞

I'm sure Nightwish and Floor will rise to the challenge, but this song won't sound the same without Marko, imo. Such a powerful voice. Mind you, when Tarja left, and then Jukka (from playing), Tuomas picked worthy replacements, so he knows what he's doing.
