When I saw him shoot he talked about health issues he had with his lungs. He seemed fine then. At that time Tom no longer worked for Beneli. He was with Federal, I think. He said since he left Beneli he had more time to go fishing with his grandson. Tom told many intersting stories before he fired a shot. What a great show he put on.
I watched Tom Knapp ALL the time on the outdoor channel before that channel was removed from cable. If it wasnt for watching him and listening to him I wouldnt have pushed myself to become a better than average shot EVERY TIME I shouldered my shotgun. Never mattered if I was hunting or shooting clays, always strived to be a better shot. Rest In Peace Tom, you will always be missed but NEVER forgotten. Every time my shotgun is shouldered, It will be in your memory.
There are several folksy and entertaining ambassadors for the shooting sports, from Bob Munden through Jerry Miculek, and TH-cam stars like Hickok45, but nobody else had Tom Knapp's combination of skill, flair and classic old school showman's voice that drew audiences on TV and in person. Even folks who didn't care much about shooting sports found themselves watching Tom's TV shows and enjoying them.
It’s Father’s Day and we had my fathers shotgun out so I showed everybody the great shooting of Tom Knapp. One of my brothers mentioned that Tom had passed away. I had no idea but for a good bit of time I felt complete sadness. He was a legend and a heck of a nice guy. God bless him and his family.
Tom treated my son like a young man and we talked about the intricate mechanics of the M2 for about half an hour. A week later I bought one. I can guarantee that would not have happened without Mr. Knapp.
I saw Tom shoot. What a great showman he was. He really was that good of a shot. He was a nice guy too. He enjoyed meeting the common guy like you and me. I took a photo of him with my bird dog. Tom has a big smile on his face. I have an autographed clay pigeon he signed for me. RIP Tom.
Tom was an amazing man an awesome shooter, we are honeymooning in the USA later this year and I was really hoping to meet him face to face but sadly that can no longer happen ! RIP Tom
Auch wenn Waffen nicht gerade mein Ding sind, habe ich diesen Kerl echt lieb gewonnen! Nie habe ich jemanden mit so viel Talent auf etwas ballern sehen, einfach krass der Tom... R.I.P
I watched Tom years ago along with his side kick whos name fails my old memory.Seems strange that he is gone.He was born five years before me.Now Im seven years after him and still going.Bottom line sad very sad to see him leave us. What a amazing talent and all around good guy.
I remember watching some history channel show about exhibition shooting as a kid and Tom Knapp was on it. Later as an adult I discovered hickok45 and... honestly thought it was the same guy. I'm sad to find out not only that it wasn't, but that Mr. Knapp has passed.
I met him a couple times and he was always a kind gentle soul, I’ve never met anyone like him and seeing this video reminded me of the first time at Game Unlimited in Hudson, I was blown away. Rest In Peace Mr Tom❤️🥺
@@scottrackley4457 I don’t remember him ever wearing one. His voice was loud when he was shooting for everyone but when I talked to him he wasn’t loud he was more engaged
I remember watching this guy in tv as a young adult and was always fascinated at his skill and he just had a great likable energy. He will be missed for a very long time.
this went from great video to hell in like three seconds, i didn't know tom died. i thought this was a tribute to his accomplishments when working with benelli. i knew he retired but i didnt know this. this is just horrible
He didn't really "retire" from Benelli. Story I heard was he got sick with a pretty serious lung condition and they dropped him (after working for them for 20 years). He got better and was shooting for CZ before he passed.
The only thing i find funny is that benelli droped tom due to heart problems and then make a tribute for him. Don't get me wrong its a very lovely way to tribute him. I don't mean to be like a hard ass here i'm just confused :/
English speaking people kan not pronounce the name "Knapp", they say "Napp". The same thing with the word "Knife / Kniv". Haha. How would an English-speaking person pronounce the Scandinavian profane word of copulating: "Knulla" / Knulle ? it would be pronounced as "Nulla", haha, extremely very funny, and my friends in Denmark an Noway laugs with me in Sweden.
My son did a 4h project on Tom. Tom personaly responded to multiple emails! Totally a class act and great person.
Up there dueling it out trick shooting with Bob Munden right now I bet. RIP Mr. Knapp. You're a huge inspiration to many.
Heaven just called here in early 2021. They can't get any shotshells up there either. The ammo supply chain has dried up all over the universe.
I watched this man as a child in elementary school. He was a inspiration to me. I had no idea he had passed. Rest in peace.

What an incredible ambassador for clay sports and recreational shooting along with unmatched exhibition skill. Damn shame he’s gone. RIP Tom
This legend was the reason I got into firearms. RIP!

Joined a list of shooting legends. His skills are the kind that get talked about and unbelieved by some around camp fires.

Amazing guy, saw him at blue trail range in Ct. Never seen anything like his skills before.
Legend! When I saw him on TV I was speechless, just couldn’t comprehend his skill!

I met him twice as well, a true gentleman. He never needed a mic, his voice carried.
@@scottrackley4457 I don’t remember him ever wearing one. His voice was loud when he was shooting for everyone but when I talked to him he wasn’t loud he was more engaged
