Sound Bites
"We're gonna talk about...rolling and different types of body awareness, body mapping techniques."
"It is somewhat useful as a descriptor. It's kind of like looking at joints as levers. It's like, is it useful as a descriptor? It helps us create a picture, but is it accurate? Probably not."
"When we talk about movement, we talk about shape changes. And a lot of situations arise."
"We're talking about rolling. Typically people think of rolling, they think of side lying long axis rolling. What is that? If we could write down what that is seeking to accomplish, like what are the main things that we're trying to go after with a long axis rolling."
"So backwards would be an inhalation bias and then forwards over shoulders is gonna be an exhalation bias. So keep that in mind, okay? Now, if I was to lie on my back and I'm gonna drive a long diagonal roll, now I'm actually using the extremity to drive the axial skeleton."

I put like 👍🏻 before I watch 😎
That’s how valuable this is !
love that
Glad you value it.
A great episode that stayed on topic, gave good examples, and went into great detail!
Thanks for watching
Much appreciated!
Great job guys! This was super helpful to flesh out my understanding of these concepts and I will be watching this again.
Glad it was helpful!
Yes!!!! This is the episode I was waiting for!!!
it's almost like we have been paying attention to the things people ask on the network haha
@@ChusWias#squeakywheelgetstheoil
Great episode - lots of practical examples
Born and raised in Italy, I cannot really comment on favorite Sunday morning cartoons, but I will tell you that I learned current American language when I moved to the US watching the tv show “ Buffy the vampire slayer”!!!!
great show!
@@ChusWias Fun Fact... I was an extra in a movie with the original Buffy from the movie.
Probably the best episode yet!!
It's looney tunes amd SpongeBob for me
Thanks
Great video!
Thanks
Thank you
Favorite Saturday morning cartoon… pokemon or yugioh. Thanks for all the info guys. When I learn more I realize how much I don’t know.
Believe in the heart of the cards
Great content as always... By the way any PTs you recommend in Wisconsin?
Nice work men. Would the pistoning of the guts in a head to tail roll be a useful option for compressed pylon narrows who can’t unweight the pelvic outlet?
Saturday mornings for me although technically not a cartoon was The Thunderbirds.
They probably wouldn't be able to perform it well. You might need to start with some sort of passive inversion like a right sidelying position where their head is downhill.
Well done gentlemen! Happy to be a member:) Thank you for the opportunity.
My general population clientele struggle with persistent pain and are mostly AP compressed. With that…is it safe to say that within my “Warm-up/Prep” for these folks…we spend most of our time in Sidelying position. Does that make sense? Appreciate any response.
My favorite Saturday morning cartoon growing up (I’m 61)…Scooby-doo.
Right sidelying ends up being a good starting point for many. Thanks for being involved.
Also Bill, appreciate if you can share on when supine to prone rolling "vs" prone to supine rolling would be useful ? Thank you very much 🙏🙏
Saturday morning cartoons? SuperFriends, Hong Kong Phooey, Captain Caveman, Fat Albert, Plasticman, Thundarr the Barbarian, and I could go on. I had the best childhood ever watching cartoons every Saturday morning.
Plasticman is great
Really cool stuff guys❤ Bill mentioned using the extremity-driven oblique axis rolling for squat deficit. May i know when do you lead the rolling with the arm vs the leg?
That would depend the reasoning behind the deficit.
If we are talking about force and space then who could forget that Japanese cartoon G-Force: Guardians of Space?
Great video giving some much appreciated perspective into rolling
Really similar to Voltron
22:45 proximal ER orientation leading to a twist of the Achilles to achieve IR…correct?
the sprinter is trying to produce IR thus the twist.
Great episode can you upload more video over lays or label some images for reference on the rolls?
There will be more resources on the UHP Network.
Yes this is exactly the type of stuff we are going to be discussing on UHP+ Isaac
We also use a lot of rolling variations in the RECON program. Link in the description.
I think of Walter Dix when thinking a wider 200m runner. Hes not "shot putter wide" but surely wider than the average 200 meter specialist.
Nice example. Thanks
We need the “There is no backward” shirt for Campo
He's still rolling his eyes in a corner somewhere.
Can you please put timestamps in your podcasts
Next podcast, we got you covered. Tell your friends.
Yes, Dale was still here, Justice League!

@@ChusWiasof course the theme song from Hong Kong Phooey is etched in my brain 😂
Number one super guy.
Great episode as always!
I remember watching Pokemons on public tv. If you were lucky enough to have Cartoon Network there were proper cartoons. Otherwise better cartoons were in the evening just before news (mickey mouse, Winnie the Pooh, the little mole)
Gotta catch em all
