he MT-15 is a naked streetbike from Yamaha that is based on the company’s MT series. The MT-15 shares most of its underpinnings with its fully-faired sibling, the YZF R15 V3.0. It features a transformer-style front fairing with an LED projector headlamp, sculpted tank with tank extensions, a wide handlebar and a petite tail section.
The motorcycle also gets a BS6-compliant version of the 155cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 18.2bhp of power at 10,000rpm; 0.2bhp lesser than the 2020 YZF-R15 V3 which also uses the same motor. Furthermore, it also gets a side-stand engine inhibitor. company has now added Dual ABS & TCS with LED Turn Signals.
Yamaha R15M 2023 Version comes with 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine with VVA dishing out 18.4bhp and 14.2Nm. It’s mated to a six-speed gearbox and packed in a Deltabox frame suspended on USD front forks and a monoshock. The 282mm front disc and a 220mm rear unit, mounted on 17-inch alloys.

Rtr 200 and Mt 15 v2 have similar pickup and top speed. Difference comes in because of weight (bike and rider).
Despite having 18 hp, it performs equally as a 20 hp. This is because of max rpm limit. Mt 15 and r15 can rev higher than most the bikes. This gives them higher top speed in comparison. This is also the reason why cruise bikes like bullet losses to sports with low power (very low rpm limit and heavy weight).
But when it comes to pickup, its different. Mt 15 only has 14 nm torque (similar to rtr 160) while rtr 200 has 17 nm. Lower cc engines can only produce lower torque. But in mt, its torque is distributed around its rev range (both low and high). So it get enough pickup to compete with 200 cc. Then another key factor is light weight.
As weight increases lower cc bikes will find difficulty in pulling. This is why mt 15 and r15 perform poorly in comparison to 200 cc when racing with pillion.
At the same time bullet will feel not much difference even with pillion because of very high torque.
6th gear has nothing to do with speed. Only power matters. Adding a 6th to rtr 200 will not increase speed. It will just distribute the 20 hp within all 6 gears. So gear ratio will change that's it.
